Abstract

This study investigates the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in employee recruitment and selection, focusing on enhancing objectivity and fairness. Employing both quantitative and qualitative methods, the research reveals that AI can improve efficiency, transparency, and consistency by evaluating candidates based on skills, experience, and job fit. However, the study also highlights that AI is not entirely free from bias, especially when trained on data reflecting historical discrimination. Therefore, organizations must recognize AI's limitations and ensure ongoing evaluation of these systems. While AI offers great potential to reduce human bias, it requires careful implementation with human oversight. The study concludes by recommending the development of ethical algorithms and promoting digital literacy among HR decision-makers to ensure fair and inclusive recruitment practice.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of work engagement, training, and quality of work life on the performance of civil servants (ASN) within the Government of Kuantan Singingi Regency. The population in this study includes all civil servants at the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) and the Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil) of Kuantan Singingi Regency. The sampling technique used is the saturated sampling method, in which all members of the population are included as respondents. This technique is applied due to the relatively small population size, allowing all units to be used as the research sample. The total sample consisted of 56 civil servants, determined using the census formula approach. The analysis method used in this research is Multiple Linear Regression. The hypothesis testing results show that work engagement, training, and quality of work life each have a positive and significant effect on performance, and collectively, they significantly influence employee performance.

Abstract

Musyarakah financing at Bank Syariah Indonesia KC Medan is a partnership between the bank and customers in various economic sectors, where both parties share profits and losses based on an agreed proportion. Despite offering significant potential, this financing product also carries several risks that need to be addressed. The main risks associated with musyarakah financing include credit risk, market risk, and operational risk. Credit risk arises if customers fail to meet their obligations, potentially affecting the bank's stability. Market risk is related to fluctuations in the prices of goods or services that are part of the musyarakah, which can impact income and profits. Additionally, operational risk encompasses internal factors related to financing management and ineffective monitoring. To mitigate these risks, Bank Syariah Indonesia KC Medan needs to implement effective risk management, assess the feasibility of financing, and enhance transparency and oversight in every musyarakah transaction.

Abstract

Student management encompasses planning, selection, development, and supervision throughout the educational process at school. Teachers play a vital role in adapting the curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the individual learning needs of each student. To enhance motivation and active participation, engaging teaching methods such as Problem-Based Learning, group discussions, and contextual approaches relevant to students' daily lives are utilized. Learning obstacles are identified through mentoring, root cause analysis, and open communication with students and parents. Academic and behavioral progress is monitored through assessments of knowledge and attitude, such as the use of daily journals. Communication between school and parents is established through parent-teacher meetings, WhatsApp groups, and home visits to create synergy in supporting the students' learning process. Effective planning strategies can significantly contribute to the achievement of established learning goals. Curriculum management in educational institutions is a crucial factor in ensuring the effectiveness of learning. MA PPMI Assalaam, as an Islamic educational institution, implements an integrative approach by combining national curricula from the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) and the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) with the distinctive Islamic content of pesantren. This study used a descriptive qualitative method through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results show that MA PPMI Assalaam has developed flagship programs such as Dirosah Islamiyah and Riset Preneur. Curriculum evaluation is conducted regularly to maintain its relevance and effectiveness in supporting students’ academic and character development. However, challenges remain, such as limited resources and the dynamic nature of national education policies. Therefore, innovative and adaptive curriculum management strategies are essential to continuously improve the quality of education at MA PPMI Assalaam in line with the demands of the times.

Abstract

This study analyzes behavioral aspects of the budgeting process in Indonesian Islamic banking with a focus on factors that influence the effectiveness of the budgeting system and dysfunctional employee behavior. Using a quantitative approach with a survey method on 456 respondents involved in the budgeting process in Indonesian Islamic banks, this study examines the influence of budget participation, perceptions of fairness, Islamic leadership style, Islamic organizational culture, and sharia commitment on budgeting effectiveness and dysfunctional behavior. Data analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with PLS-SEM resulted in findings that all independent variables have a significant positive effect on budgeting effectiveness, with Islamic leadership style showing the strongest influence (β = 0.312), followed by sharia commitment (β = 0.289), budget participation (β = 0.247), Islamic organizational culture (β = 0.203), and perceptions of fairness (β = 0.186). All variables were also shown to have a significant negative effect on dysfunctional behavior, with sharia commitment having the strongest negative effect (β = -0.315). The level of sharia education and work experience were shown to moderate this relationship. The results of this study demonstrate the importance of integrating Islamic values into the budgeting system to improve organizational effectiveness and reduce dysfunctional practices, providing a theoretical contribution to the sharia financial management literature and practical guidance for sharia banking managers in optimizing a budgeting system based on Islamic values.
