Abstract

This study explores the role of prayer habits in shaping the religious character of students at the SMART Tutoring Institute in Bandar Sribhawono, East Lampung. Within the context of non-formal education, prayer serves as a key medium for cultivating religious values and character. Using a qualitative approach, this research employs observation, interviews, and documentation methods. The findings indicate that the practice of praying before and after study sessions positively contributes to the development of students' religious character, particularly in terms of patience, piety, gratitude, empathy, discipline, and responsibility. Beyond spiritual development, this habit also enhances social interactions among students and between students and teachers. Despite challenges—such as varying levels of focus during prayer and the diversity of students' religious backgrounds—the SMART Tutoring Institute has effectively integrated prayer into its activities in an adaptive manner. The implementation of this habit fosters a more conducive learning environment, promotes religious behavior, and contributes to improved academic performance. The study recommends that prayer be systematically incorporated into learning activities at non-formal educational institutions to help nurture a generation grounded in strong character and faith.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze Ki Hajar Dewantara's educational philosophy as contained in the Philosophers of Education trilogy "The Ngarsa Sung Tulada, The Madya Mangun Karsa, Tut Wuri Handayani" from the perspective of Oumar Muhammad Al-Toumy Al-Syaibani, a figure in contemporary Islamic education. This approach aims to explore the meeting point between the noble values of national education and the principles of Islamic education based on monotheism. By using qualitative-descriptive methods and literature study, this research concludes that there is philosophical harmony between Ki Hajar's humanistic approach and Al-Syaibani's spiritual education. The integration of the two is an important foundation in developing the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum in Indonesia to make it more contextual, spiritual and liberating. This article recommends the active role of teachers as moral and spiritual role models in designing education that is independent and has transcendental value.

The learning motivation of class IX students in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects at Tri Bhakti Assalam Integrated Islamic Middle School is still low due to the lack of encouragement to study. Through the STAD cooperative learning model, teachers hope to change the class dynamics to be more active and collaborative, so that student learning motivation increases. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach which focuses on analyzing the use of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) type cooperative learning model in increasing students' learning motivation in holistic Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects. Data collection was carried out through three main techniques, namely observation, interviews and documentation. The process of testing the validity of the data carried out by the author in this research went through stages, namely: Source Triangulation and data triangulation. The research results show that the use of the STAD model significantly increases students' learning motivation in PAI subjects. The motivation that grows from relevant learning methods provides positive encouragement for students to continue to be actively involved in learning. By combining individual-based learning motivation and collective support through the STAD model, the learning process can take place more effectively, creating students who excel academically and have strong character in accordance with religious teachings.

Abstract

In Islam, the family holds a central role in shaping both individual character and societal structure. From an individual perspective, the family nurtures core moral values such as strong faith in Allah, self-sacrifice, loyalty, and love for goodness. These values form the foundation for personal development and spiritual growth. Socially, the family is the primary institution for transmitting cultural values, traditions, and customs from one generation to the next, thereby ensuring societal continuity and cohesion. Beyond the transfer of material wealth, families pass on moral and ethical principles essential for life. The formation of a healthy, dynamic, and creative generation is a direct result of values instilled by the previous one. The kinship system, which encompasses relationships formed through blood, marriage, adoption, and social interactions, plays a pivotal role in defining social structure and obligations within society. Understanding these relationships is essential to comprehend how cultural and moral values are maintained and propagated. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of familial and kinship relationships and their broader implications in Islamic and anthropological contexts
