Abstract

Diabetes patients require education and expertise in self-care management. A lack of understanding and knowledge about diabetes and diabetes-related topics leads to uncertainty, fear, and skepticism, which are readily exacerbated by emotions. Educating patients about diabetes has been found to improve their clinical results and quality of life.  This study aims to identify knowledge and awareness of diabetes self-care management by increasing knowledge through education and demonstration of diabetes self-care management activities in the Kahuripan Community Health Center working area in Tasikmalaya City, to reduce complications. This study used a quantitative descriptive design with total sampling. Activities were conducted to enhance diabetes awareness and literacy. Results. The service participants were 57 persons. D III Nursing Study Program Faculty, with the assistance of students, implemented expanding knowledge in PROLANIS activities. This study used a quantitative descriptive design with total sampling. Activities are carried out to promote knowledge and awareness about diabetes and related issues. Results The service participants were 57 persons. Increased understanding of PROLANIS activities is carried out by D III Nursing Study Program lecturers with the assistance of students. The activity is carried out by preparing and administering the Diabetes Knowledge Questionnaire (DKQ)-24 questionnaire via mobile phone, with the aid of students.  The majority of participants, 55 (96.5%), had bad knowledge before the counseling activities and exercise demonstrations. Following the activities, 7 (12.3%) participants had good knowledge, 22 (38.6%) had good knowledge, and 28 (49.1%) participants had poor information. The connection between diabetic self-management behavior and health attitudes is mediated by knowledge and cultural literacy regarding diabetes. Furthermore, because diabetic health literacy can impact patients' ability to manage their treatment, healthcare professionals must evaluate patients' health literacy and create interventions that can raise it. To achieve positive health outcomes, health literacy should be regarded as essential in health education and interactions with emergency services.

Abstract

Food security is a strategic concern for emerging nations. A crop-livestock integration system must generally be put in place if the Indonesian people are to attain food security, independence, and sovereignty. One of the most advanced agricultural systems available today is the integrated crop-livestock system. One of the agricultural systems that promotes the expansion of the farm industry in rural regions is the crop-livestock integration system. One of the communities in Jepara with significant potential for agricultural and animal husbandry is Karangrandu Village, located in the Pecangaan District of the Jepara Regency. The crop-livestock integration system is a particularly useful tool since many farmer groups have not yet improved the transformation of food crop waste into animal feed and livestock manure into organic fertilizer.

Abstract

The background to this service is the rise in cases of bullying in the school environment due to a lack of social interaction and, a lack of bonding with family and the school environment. Especially in the world of education, cases of physical bullying are 55%, verbal bullying is 30%, and cyberbullying is 15%. Students at SMK Negeri 2 Garut are 70% male-dominant, of course, acts of bullying will occur because the perpetrators and victims of bullying usually occur among men. The aim of holding this community service is to provide understanding and skills to individuals, especially children, and teenagers, so that they can recognize, prevent, and overcome bullying, so that children's mentalities can be honed and continue to improve. The method used in this service is mentoring through the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) method, which is a research data collection technique that ultimately produces information from interactions between several participants in a study, similar to other data collection methods in general. The result of this service is that students who initially only knew the basic definition of bullying, after being given this assistance almost all students understand what the bad effects of bullying are, the positive side of bullying has also been understood, such as becoming more sensitive. about the surrounding environment, sharpening a person's mentality for the future, as evidenced by the questionnaire results above 8.5%. We hope that after this service activity is held, there will be no more or fewer cases of bullying, either in the surrounding environment or cyberbullying on social media

Abstract

In this context of religious moderation, textbooks must not contain elements that trigger acts of violence. Islam, as a religion, does not educate students to commit acts of violence in children's education, whether through words, behavior, or physical actions. The presence of the Al-Qur'an and Hadith in the curriculum is vital in education because they discuss the basic understanding of Islamic teachings applied in everyday life. This research uses the In Service Learning method by collaborating with partners, namely the principal of MI Al-Qolam, Kp. Dukuh Ilir RT 03/03, Dukuh village, Cibungbulang sub-district, regency. Bogor. The method for carrying out activities is the off-the-job training method with a lecture approach, namely giving lectures. This activity focuses on introducing and strengthening the values of religious moderation in the educational environment, especially in madrasah ibtidaiyyah. This activity concludes that educators feel it helped develop an analysis of the values of religious moderation through the Al-Qur'an and Hadith Textbook for Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah published by the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia in 2020. This activity aims to increase educators' understanding and analysis in integrating the values of religious moderation in learning Al-Qur'an Hadith

Abstract

The background of this community service activity is a response to the use of technology and social media that affects Indonesian students, causing them to focus more on technology usage. This phenomenon has diminished their interest in honing writing skills and imaginative thinking, as observed at SMKN 2 Garut. The objective of this initiative is to expand knowledge of literary journalism, enhance the writing and imaginative skills of students at SMKN 2 Garut, and prepare them for academic and professional environments. The training method employs a combination of Participatory Action Research (PAR), Target Situation Analysis (TSA), and Project-based Learning (PBL), involving the introduction of literary journalism concepts and the practice of writing literary works. The results show a significant improvement in students' understanding and skills in expressing ideas imaginatively through literary journalism writing. This training also positively contributes to developing students' writing skills and imaginative thinking as part of their education. The activity successfully increased students' knowledge of literary journalism and enhanced their imagination, resulting in good literary works by leveraging students' thinking and creativity.

Abstract

MSMEs are considered the main pillar of the economy, especially when large companies experience difficulties or bankruptcy. This is considered positive because MSMEs can be the main indicator of regional economic progress. However, some MSME players may not understand how to develop their products, especially in classifying and calculating costs. One strategy in business development is to make a detailed cost classification or calculation of production costs in an activity report. This activity aims to provide practical guidance, training and mentoring in classifying costs and calculating production costs for MSMEs in the Mustika Jaya forum, especially "Kaki Street Food" business owners. This activity involved developing a step-by-step guide to help "Kaki Street Food" business owners understand the cost classification and production costs involved in their business. The guide covers important aspects such as market analysis, marketing strategy, and financial planning. The results of the activity provide an understanding to partners about the importance of classifying costs in supporting the preparation of production cost reports which can ultimately be used as a basis for decision-making on setting selling prices. Partners can participate in the activity well, as evidenced by the results of the simulation of the preparation of production cost reports that are done independently.

Abstract

Fish wrapped in a banana leaf is one of the processed fish commodities caught by superior fishermen from Wadaslintang, Central Java. After COVID-19, several obstacles emerged at the Wadaslintang Fish Craftsmen, namely the procurement of raw materials for red tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and the marketing of the products. Its activity aims to apply innovative agrologistic technology with a spatial database. Activities were carried out for eight months for 15 KUB members. The method of implementing the activity is interviews and implementation of segregation and georeferencing digitization of the distribution of quality raw material providers, potential market segments, and optimization of marketing area coverage. The results of the implementation of activities show that this technology can be applied well to build a productive fishing community civilization. The number of new business ventures increased from 15 to 20 members, marketing reach expanded to Semarang, and production increased from 60kg/day to 150kg/day.

Abstract

The Muhammadiyah group has implemented community service programs (PKM) in collaboration with the Universitas Muhammadiyah Lamongan (UMLA) Library. In order to comply with SNI 03-6197-2000 regarding energy conservation in lighting systems, the PKM activity aims to measure and create a contour map of the lighting intensity level (also known as illumination level) in the UMLA library space, increase target partners' knowledge regarding lighting intensity (also known as illumination level) in the work space and its relationship to eye fatigue, and implement technology in the form of an IoT integrated room lighting system. The target partners will be fully involved in all activities, including FGD (First Measurement of Lighting Levels in Library Spaces), counseling regarding lighting intensity (Illumination Level) in work spaces and its relationship to eye fatigue, and the design and implementation of sensor and IoT based room lighting systems. The method for implementing community service activities is a participatory approach. The Muhammadiyah Lamongan University Library Institute, the community service partner, was able to accurately assess the illumination in the interpretation library room by means of a number of completed community service projects. We may conclude that the UMLA library's light intensity, which is ≥ 300 lux, satisfies the SNI criterion.
