Abstract

The use of sunscreen is a way to prevent the adverse effects of sun exposure to the skin. Sunscreens that contain synthetic chemical compounds can cause allergies to the skin. Therefore it is necessary to look for other ingredients that have activities as sunscreens, one of which is by using natural ingredients, especially from plants such as purslane herbs that have these activities. This type of research is an experiment to formulate cream of ethanol extract of purslane herbs as sunscreens with concentrations of 0%, 0.5%, 0.75%, and 1.0%. The thick extract of purslane herb is formulated as a cream with a base of stearic acid cream, cetyl alcohol, glycerin, triethanolamine, with nipagin and nipasol preservatives. Furthermore, the cream was carried out several tests, namely organoleptic test, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, stability, cream type, and SPF value in vitro. The test results found that the formulated cream had a light brown-green color, with a distinctive odor and half solid consistency. A cream that is made homogeneous, all creams are alkaline. All the spread cream meets the requirements (more than 4 cm). All cream formulas are stable because there is no separation in the cycling test. This type of cream is a type of oil in water that is easy to wash. SPF value of F0 cream (0% purslane ethanol extract) was 0.620±0.070, F2 (0.5% extract) 4.341±0.565, F3 (0.75% extract) 5.289±0.644, and F3 (1.0% extract) 7,862±1,564.

Abstract

Gel mask can increase skin moisture and enhance the effect of the main composition (Aloe vera L) as an anti-acne on the epithelial and that is the cause of occlusivity of the polymer layer formed. PVA formulation is used to give exfoliated effect because they have adhesive properties or can form films that are easily peeled off after drying. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) variations as a gelling agent (7%, 10%, 13% and 16%) on the physical properties of ethanol extract Aloe vera leaves skin gel mask included organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, dispersibility, drying time and inhibition test against Staphylococcus epidermidis. The research conducted is experimental. The design of this research is a one-shot case study. Evaluation results were analyzed using univariate analysis. For physical properties, frequency distribution and inhibitory tests were analyzed with Analysis of variance (ANOVA). Peel off gel mask is formulated with 4 treatments and 6 repetitions. The results showed that the peel-off gel mask of Aloe vera leaves ethanol extract have clear organoleptic properties, very weak alcohol flavor and 50% slightly thick and 25% thick and 25% very thick. 75% of mask preparations are homogeneous. Has a pH range of 5.95-6.2. The spreadability of 75% gel mask preparations are meet the requirements of mask masking and 75% meets the requirements of good drying time. All variations of the formula have an inhibition effect against Staphylococcus epidermidis and between training groups, no difference was understood.

Additional intervention is needed to improve the effectiveness to increase self-acceptance. Technique relaxation is especially related because easy and quick to learn, it involves no risk, does not need use or purchased equipment and can be used on its own and immediately to tiredness and ill patients. This paper offers a literature review assessing the implications of previous studies order to create evidence-based decisions about the possibility to use of relaxation techniques with adult breast cancer patient for low self-acceptance. The Science Direct, EBSCOhost, Pubmed, DOAJ, Google Scholar database were searched in 2017 in orders to replied two questions: are relaxation technique effective to increase self-acceptance in breast cancer patients, and implications the previous investigation to future research concerning increase self-acceptance in breast cancer patients? Four articles included in the literature review. The relaxation technique for breast cancer patients with low self-acceptance is statically significant, and good evidence-based to practice. Some use of relaxation techniques in this study needs clarification as to whether it can be used directly or need to learn. Procedures in the collection of data in the articles also need to be assessed. In this literature review explain 4 relaxation technique to use for increasing self-acceptance in breast cancer, there are self-forgiveness, meditation, tai-chi, reflection, prayer, mindfulness. This literature review can be used as the basis for the decision to use relaxation techniques for increasing self-acceptance in the breast cancer patient.

Abstract

The role of nurses is very important, in discharge planning. Discharge planning is performed in all diseases to e the clients of the illness as well as the recovery of the patient after discharge from the hospital. One of them are patients with Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). Discharge planning for DHF patient can be done by providing health education. Some studies find that discharge planning is in intermediate achievement because some factors such as formal education and age that affect maturity in thinking and acting. The purpose of this study is to describe the ability of nurses to perform discharge planning to a patient with DHF. This is qualitative research, the population in this study is nurses who are assigned to care DHF patient in Ambarawa Hospital. Data collected by semi-structured interview and validated by member check method. The results showed that discharge planning applied in Ambarawa Hospital was absolute discharge, and also discharge planning to DHF clients in Ambarawa Hospital was not effective yet because nurses did not know the number of dengue cases that should be reported in whole to the Health District Office. It is because the standard of success applying discharge planning depends on the reporting of DHF cases as a whole. To be concluded, delivering education must pay attention to three important aspects namely structure, culture, and technology.
