Abstract

Stroke is the dissolution of blood flow to the brain, due to the rupture of blood vessels or blockage of blood vessels to the brain. Stroke results in paralysis, sensory disorders, activity disorders, mental changes such as impaired thinking, awareness, concentration, impaired communication, and emotional disturbance. These changes require the ability of individuals to overcome these problems. This ability is known by the term strategy coping. In general, the known strategy of coping is problem-focused coping and emotion-focused coping. As part of the behavior, psychosocial responses and coping strategies influenced by culture. This study aims to describe the psychosocial response and coping strategy of stroke patients in the context of the culture in Ambon. The method in this study is a qualitative phenomenology approach. Data collection techniques used were in-depth interviews. The participants in this study were four people. Result obtained four themes: (1) physical changes, (2) independence in carrying out activities, (3) psychosocial responses, and (4) coping strategies in a cultural context. Physical changes experienced by participants due to stroke give rise to maladaptive and adaptive psychosocial responses. The coping strategies used to overcome the problem are emotional coping and focus coping issues that are influenced by Ambon culture.

Abstract

Pinning and cutting the umbilical cord is a standard procedure that is always done when the baby is born. The benefits of delaying cord clamping for infants include the opportunity for red blood, stem cells, and immune cells to be transmitted to the baby's body outside the uterus. As for mothers, delaying cord clamping can reduce the complications of bleeding. This study aims to determine the Midwife's Compliance Level in the Implementation of SOP Cutting the Cord in Newborns in Bandar Lampung City. This type of research is correlation analytic with a cross-sectional approach. The research subjects are midwives who provide birth assistance services in the city of Bandar Lampung with a total of 131 people, the sample in this study was the total population. Data collection uses primary data. Univariate data analysis uses percentages and bivariate analysis uses chi-square. The results showed that midwives' level of compliance in implementing SOP of umbilical cord-cutting in newborns in the category of non-compliance was 83 respondents (63.4%), midwife knowledge was categorized as good as 102 respondents (77.9%) and the attitude of midwives in the category of no support as many as 76 respondents (58.02%). There is a significant relationship between midwives 'attitudes and midwives' compliance in the adoption of umbilical cord cutting SOPs in newborns and there is no relationship between midwives 'knowledge and midwives' level of compliance in implementing umbilical cord cutting SOPs. Professional organizations (IBI Bandar Lampung City) and midwives coordinator of the local health center need to program supervision to midwives who provide delivery assistance to always implement the SOP cutting the umbilical cord on newborns.

Abstract

Hospitalization for children and parents is a very traumatic and stressful experience. Changes in the role, lack of sleep, feelings of pain, immobilization, unable to control yourself, a strange environment and changing daily habits are situations that are often felt by children that can trigger stress. For parents, stress occurs because of anxiety and fear resulting from the seriousness of the disease, procedures performed, treatment, the impact on the future of the child, frustration due to lack of information on procedures and treatment and unfamiliar hospital rules. Parental stress can be further increased when the health team shows an attitude of lack of empathy for them, limited information about caring for their children because of communication that is not well established with the health team, especially nurses and the involvement of parents in caring for their children. This study aims to identify what parents expect from the role of nurses when they care for their children in the hospital in this study. There are 5 themes: 1. Parental satisfaction over the improvement of the patient's condition, 2. Parental anxiety when the child is treated, 3. Adequate support for child care facilities 4. Communication barriers between patient-family nurses and 5. More attention is needed for pediatric patients from a nurse. This study is expected to improve the role of nurses, especially child nurses in carrying out nursing care according to the needs of patients and families.

Abstract

House flies are the species that play the most role in public health problems, namely as a vector of disease transmission. Control of house flies is needed without polluting the environment. The alternative developed is the use of plants as vegetable pesticides. Basil leaves used as basil leaf extract are used as vegetable insecticides to control house flies (Musca domestica). This research is an experiment to see the ability of basil leaf extract as a bioinsecticide on the repulsion/repellency of house flies. This research is experimental and analyzed using a two-way ANOVA analysis. The study consisted of two factors, the first factor was the dose of basil leaf extract: 0%, 20%, 30%, dan 40%, and the second factor, the time of observation of the repelling power of house flies/repelan for 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 15 minutes. Statistical test results stated that basil leaf extract: dose 0% sig value 0,011<0,05, dose 20% sig value 0,178>0,05, dose 30% sig value 0,031<0,05 and dose 40% sig value 0,007<0,05, so that the dose of 0% has an effect for the observation time of 15 minutes, the dose of 20% does not affect the repelling/repelling power of house flies, for observations of 5, 10 and 15 minutes, the dose of 30% and the dose of 40% affects, for all time observations.
