Abstract

Abstract: The study of Sirah Nabawiyyah is very important to take detailed knowledge of Muhammad?s life with all its aspects. Kelengkapan Tarikh Nabi Muhammad written by KH Moenawar Chalil is one of Indonesian Muslims? works focused on Sirah Nabawiyyah. This library research emphasizes on Kelengkapan Tarikh Nabi Muhammad (that was first published in 1936) as its primary source. This paper purposively aims to analyse the biographical characteristic of Kelengkapan Tarikh Nabi Muhammad relating to its historical sources and explanation of historical events related to the life of the prophet Muhammad. Finally, it concludes that Moenawar Chalil successfully applied the historical method in writing the complete history of the life of the Prophet Muhammad. He used reliable historical sources, such as the Qur?an, prophetic traditions, exegetical works, and Islamic historical books. He made historical explanations based on standard historiographic rules. He paid attention to the historical questions of historiography (namely: who, what, why, where, when, and how) to explain Sirah Nabawiyyah thoroughly and then accentuated the essence of events with spirit of Islam. Kelengkapan Tarikh Nabi Muhammad (terbit pertama tahun 1936) merupakan karya cendekiawan Muslim Indonesia, KH Moenawar Chalil, yang secara khusus membahas Sirah Nabawiyyah. Penelitian kepustakaan yang menggunakan karya itu sebagai data primer berikut ini menganalisis karakteristik historiografis Sirah Nabawiyyah berkaitan dengan sumber-sumber sejarahnya dan eksplanasinya terhadap peristiwa-peristiwa historis kehidupan Nabi Muhammad saw. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa KH Moenawar Chalil berhasil menerapkan metode historis dalam karyanya dan merujuk kepada sumber-sumber historis kredibel, yakni al-Qur?an, hadis Nabi saw, serta buku-buku tafsir dan sejarah Islam. Eksplanasi historisnya berpedoman pada prosedur historiografi sesuai metode sejarah dengan menjawab berbagai pertanyaan historiografis (yaitu siapa, apa, mengapa, dimana, kapan, dan bagaimana) untuk menjelaskan Sirah Nabawiyyah secara cermat. Ia selanjutnya memberikan intisari peristiwa-peristiwa itu dengan menggelorakan semangat perjuangan Islam dan bahkan menyajikan tema-tema tambahan yang relevan sehingga para pembaca karyanya dapat memahaminya secara mendalam.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze William R. Roff’s theoretical approach to Hajj and its contribution to Islamic studies in Indonesia. This contribution arose from his concern with the very few historians of religions who made functional, analytical categories for explaining religious phenomena. This paper is a literature study and uses William R. Roff’s writing, Theoretical Approaches to the Hajj, as the primary source and analyzes it using qualitative data analysis. The author found that William R. Roff explained the implementation of the pilgrimage and its meaning by elaborating on Arnold van Gennep’s theory and Victor Turner’s thesis. The pre-implementation stage of the pilgrimage means the separation contained in the ramalan ritual (extra-Islamic) to determine the best time for the pilgrims’ departure, apologies and prayers, preparation of supplies, repayment of debts, and their obligations before the pilgrimage. The stage of the hajj implementation means the transition that is contained in the peak performance of the hajj ritual. The post-implementation phase of the Hajj means togetherness in the change in attributes, understanding of the pilgrims, and their implementation in the community life where they live. William R. Roff’s theoretical contribution to the pilgrimage, the outcome of which was satisfactory to both parties, has been used as a model by scholars and researchers for studying other religious rituals in Islam. His interpretation of the hajj ritual falls into the third phase called new Islamic studies to approach.

Abstract

Abstract. Poverty is a problem that is very difficult to solve. For this reason, there is a need for a program to be able to provide a change in society with various forms of activities carried out through the program. The program can be in the form of Rumah Harapan Karangpatihan Bangkit. The research method in this paper uses a qualitative approach, while the type of research used is a case study. The data source of this study used observation techniques and in-depth interview techniques. The results of this study revealed that the community change movement is the most important part that can provide change through the existence of the Rumah Harapan Karangpatihan Bangkit program with various forms of activities in the form of handicraft mats, batik crafts, prayer beads, handcraft crafts, and handicrafts of centong and sutil. The existence of these activities can not be separated from the inhibiting factors and supporting factors. The conclusion of this research is the community changes made in an effort to provide welfare in their lives through the Karangpatihan Bangkit Hope House program. The existence of this program is to provide empowerment to the community through training and learning. This is done as an effort to provide a better life in the future.الملخص: الفقر مشكلة يصعب حلها. لهذا السبب ، هناك حاجة إلى برنامج ليكون قادرًا على توفير التغييرات في المجتمع بأشكال مختلفة من الأنشطة التي يتم تنفيذها من خلال البرنامج. يمكن أن يكون البرنامج في شكل Rumah Harapan Karangpatihan Bangkit. يستخدم أسلوب البحث في هذه الورقة نهجًا نوعيًا ، في حين أن نوع البحث المستخدم هو دراسة حالة. استخدم مصدر بيانات هذا البحث تقنيات الملاحظة والمقابلة المتعمقة. تكشف نتائج هذه الدراسة أن حركة التغيير المجتمعي هي الجزء الأكثر أهمية الذي يمكن أن يوفر التغيير من خلال وجود برنامج Rumah Harapan Karangpatihan Bangkit بأشكال مختلفة من الأنشطة في شكل ممسحات ، وحرف الباتيك ، وسبحة الصلاة ، وحرف ، وحرف السنتونغ والحرير. لا يمكن فصل وجود هذا النوع من النشاط عن العوامل المثبطة والعوامل الداعمة. استنتاج هذه الدراسة هو أن التغييرات في المجتمع التي يتم إجراؤها كمحاولة لتوفير الرفاهية في حياتهم يمكن أن تكون من خلال برنامجRumah Harapan Karangpatihan Bangkit. وجود هذا البرنامج هو توفير التمكين للمجتمع من خلال التدريب والتعلم. يتم ذلك كمحاولة لتوفير حياة أفضل في المستقبل.Abstrak: Kemiskinan merupakan permasalahan yang sangat sulit dipecahkan. Untuk itulah perlu adanya program untuk dapat memberikan perubahan masyarakat dengan berbagai bentuk kegiatan yang dilakukan melalui program. Program tersebut dapat berupa adanya Rumah Harapan Karangpatihan Bangkit. Metode penelitian dalam tulisan ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, sedangkan jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus. Sumber data penelitian ini menggunakan teknik observasi dan teknik wawancara mendalam. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa gerakan perubahan masyarakat merupakan bagian terpenting yang dapat memberikan perubahan melalui adanya program Rumah Harapan Karangpatihan Bangkit dengan berbagai bentuk kegiatan berupa kerajinan keset, kerajinan batik, kerajinan tasbih, kerajinan telenan, dan kerajinan centong dan sutil. Adanya bentuk kegiatan tersebut tidak terlepas dari faktor penghambat dan faktor pendukung. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah perubahan masyarakat yang dilakukan sebagai upaya untuk memberikan kesejahteraan dalam kehidupannya dapat melalui program Rumah Harapan Karangpatihan Bangkit. Adanya program ini untuk memberikan pemberdayaan kepada masyarakat dengan pelatihan dan pembelajaran. Hal ini dilakukan sebagai upaya untuk memberikan kehidupan yang lebih baik dimasa yang akan datang.

Abstract

Abstract: Hadith criticism is a long-established tradition dating back to the time of the Companions and Successors (Tābi'īn) and continued growing until became a scientific discipline with its principles and rules. Nevertheless, some scholars, both Western and Muslim, have been criticized for such discipline and regarded it unscientific method and, therefore, need to be re-examined. This article attempt to highlight the efforts of Muslim scholars in establishing this scientific discipline. By using historical and critical analysis method, the study concluded that the tradition of hadith criticism which has been done by those scholars since their early periods show its accuracy in determining the validity of a hadith, either in the level of theory or application as well..الملخص: إن عملية النقد للتمييز بين الصحيح والسقيم تجاه الأحاديث النبوية ليست بأمر جديد بالنسبة إلى علماء الحديث، حيث وجدت جذور هذه العلمية في عصر الصحابة ثم توسعت في عصر التابعين حتى أصبحت علما مستقلا له مبادئه وقواعده، وعلى الرغم من ذلك فقد تصدى عدد من المفكرين المسلمين والمستشرقين في نقد هذا العلم زاعمين أن منهح النقد عند المحدثين لا يبني على قواعد علمية وبالتالي لا بد من إعادة النظر حوله، يحاول هذا البحث تسليط الضوء على جهود علماء الحديث فيترسيخ هذا العلم، وبانتهاج المنهج التاريخي التحليلي النقدي خرج البحث بأن ما أرساه العلماء في بناء هذا العلم منذ فتراته الأولى قد تببنت فعاليته في تنقيح الحديث النبوي سواء كان في مستوي التنظير أو التطبيق.Abstrak: Tradisi kritik dalam penetapkan otentitas suatu hadis bukan hal yang baru di kalangan ulama hadis. Tradisi tersebut telah mengakar sejak masa Sahabat dan terus berlanjut pada masa Tabi’in hingga berkembang menjadi disiplin ilmu dengan prinsip-prinsip dan kaidah-kaidahnya yang sudah mapan. Kendati demikian beberapa sarjana, baik Barat maupun Muslim, menganggap metode kritik hadis yang dilakukan ulama tidak didasari kaidah ilmiah sehingga perlu diuji kembali secara kritis. Artikel ini berusaha menjabarkan bagaimana sebenarnya tradisi kritik yang dilakukan ulama terdahulu hingga menjadi sebuah disiplin ilmu. Menggunakan kajian historis analisis kritis, artikel ini menemukan bahwa tradisi kritik yang dibangun ulama sejak periode awal Islam menunjukkan keakuratan ilmu tersebut dalam penetapkan kesahihan sebuah hadis, baik dalam tataran teori maupun penerapannya.

Abstract

The West secular-worldview has arisen many discipline of knowledge including modern psychology which contradicted with Islamic psychology. The understanding of modern psychology is based on a secularistic framework which caused the separation of the essential personality of human from the Creator. This paper aims to examine the concept of fitrah in the Qur’an. Using theory of Quasi-scientific Worldview and descriptive analysis method related with fitrah of human, this research produced several conclusions. First, fitrah in the psychology study on Islamic perspective is an important dimension in human life. Especially, Islamic psychology makes fitrah as human identity centered on tawhid. Meanwhile, the human personality in modern psychology did not cover the whole dimension because it only touches the jismiyah and nafsiyah aspects. Second, in Islamic psychology, the view of human personality not only discusses on the aspects of jismiyah and nafsiyah, but also emphasizes on the ruhaniyah aspect. Third, the difference dimension of ruhaniyah that makes the dimension of fitrah important because it has the recognizing of Allah as the essential sacred identity. This condition of fitrah in the human dimension has implicated for the happiness of human.

Abstract

Abstract: This paper aims to find out how prosocial motivation is to give charity to the community and how prosocial efforts to maintain motivation to give charity in social institutions of Darul Amin Palangka Raya, where is motivation of prosocial charity especially in Indonesia is still very weak, this is influenced by several factors.  This research was conducted qualitatively, by taking six informan this research subjects with criteria: high economy, medium economy, and low economy; and became a donor of the Darul Amin Palangka Raya. The findings in this study are two factors that determine the motivation of prosocial charity at the Darul Amin, first, internal factors such as: understanding the wisdom of giving and giving as a form of gratitude; and second, external factors such as: the inheritance of exemplary parents, the task of conveying the truth, humanity, the support of people closest to the environment, and sharing of happiness. There have been several attempts by prosocial to maintain their motivation to give to charity including remembering the messages of parents, listening to lectures both in pronunciation, social medical, reading books.الملخص: يهدف هذا البحث إلى معرفة كفية الدافعين الاجتماعيين في الصدقة وكيفية احتفاظهم بها في المؤسسة الاجتماعية دار الأمين بالنكارايا، حيث لا يزال الدافعين الاجتماعيين في الصدقة خاصة في إندونيسيا ضعيفا جدا، ويتأثر هذا بعدة عوامل. ويتم إجراء هذا البحث نوعيا من خلال أخذ ستة الأفراد من هذا البحث بالمعايير منها: الاقتصاد المرتفع، والاقتصاد المتوسط، والاقتصاد المنخفض، وأصبح متبرعا بالمؤسسة الاجتماعية دار الأمين بالنكارايا. تعتبر النتائج في هذا البحث عاملين يحددان الدافع الاجتماعي في الصدقة لدار الأمين، الأول، العوامل الداخلية منها: فهم حكمة الصدقة والصدقة شكل من أشكال الشكر. والثاني، العوامل الخارجية منها: إرث الأسوة من الوالدين، ومهمة إيصال الحقيقة، والإنسانية، ودعم الأشخاص الأقرب والبيئة، وتقاسم السعادة. هناك عدة محاولات من الدافعين الاجتماعين في الاحتفاظ بالصدقة منها تذكر رسالة الوالدين، والاستماع إلى الدعوة من المجلس والشبكة الدولية، وقراءة الكتاب عن .Abstrak: Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana motivasi prososial bersedekah masyarakat dan bagaimana upaya para prososial mempertahankan motivasi bersedekah di lembaga sosial Panti Asuhan Darul Amin Palangka Raya, dimana motivasi prososial bersedekah khususnya di Indonesia masih sangat lemah, hal ini dipengaruhi beberapa faktor. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara kualitatif, dengan mengambil enam orang subjek penelitian dengan yang berkriteria: berekonomi tinggi, berekonomi sedang, dan berekonomi lemah; dan menjadi donator lembaga sosial Panti Asuhan Darul Amin Palangka Raya. Temuan dalam kajian ini ada dua faktor yang menentukan motivasi prososial bersedekah di Panti Asuhan Darul Amin, pertama, faktor internal seperti: memahami hikmah bersedekah dan sebagai bentuk syukur; dan kedua, faktor eksternal seperti: warisan keteladanan orang tua, tugas sebagai penyampai kebenaran, rasa kemanusian, dukungan orang terdekat dan lingkungan, serta berbagi kebahagiaan. Abstract

Conflict can occur anywhere and anytime, even in a society that looks homogeneous and religious. This paper aims to describe, analyze, and interpret the causes of the operation of the religious elite conflict in Mlangi and the resolution efforts for this conflict. These objectives can be achieved by using a qualitative approach with the type of case study research designed in the form of a single case. The data collection techniques can be done by observation, interviews, and documentation which makes the author himself a research instrument. The results obtained from these achievements are as follows: conflicts of religious elites can occur because there are symbolic buildings that are glorified by the local community, struggle  for social position between jero and jobo communities, changes in regional administration and social structures, intersections between religion, economy and political elites local, struggling for access to information, resources and sources of funds, differences in livelihoods, and the emergence of negotiations on religious and cultural values. Some of the causes of the conflict can be eliminated by fading the building of symbols that reinforce social position and status, allowing mixed marriages, creating awareness of equality of origin or descent, needing government intervention to find a middle way for the conflict, creating common enemies and independence.

Abstract

This paper will discuss how two media (websites) NU Online and Suara Muhammadiyah counteract radicalism in terms of the Islamic state discourse. The post-reform discourse on the Islamic State is not only in seminar forums with a physical presence but has penetrated internet sites, Facebook, WA and others. The purpose of this paper is to answer three main problems, first, what are the radical aspects of the idea of an Islamic state published by the NU Online website and the Suara Muhammadiyah website? Second, how is the deradicalization of the NU Online website and the Suara Muhammadiyah website in terms of the Islamic state in Indonesia? and third, what is the ideology behind the NU Online website and the Suara Muhammadiyah website in deradicalizing the Islamic state in Indonesia? To answer these three main problems, this paper uses Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis approach. Fairclough was chosen because he has an in-depth study of language as a practice of power. Fairclough's critical discourse analysis focuses on the study of three interrelated things, namely text, discourse practice and sociocultural practice. This paper finds several things. First, the aspects of radicalism discussed by NU Online and Suara Muhammadiyah are on intolerance of the subject, An ahistorical concept and symbolic and physical violence. Second, the way of deradicalization of NU Online and Suara Muhammadiyah is through normative theological arguments, arguments on the historical practice of Islamic social politics and Indonesian factual conditions. Third, the ideology of NU Online is al-Sha>fi'i> with the development of an open Sufism epistemology and the Suara Muhammadiyah ideology which is the ideology of schools without madhhab in the form of progressive Islam.

Abstract

Abstract: Through this article, I try to revisit the relationship between religion and politics. There are three main ideas I propose here. First, about the nature and function of religion for human beings. Once, many scholars have predicted that religion would disappear from human life that was increasingly modernized and rationalized. But in fact, religion has not really disappeared. The prediction is wrong because it is not based on the nature of human beings who always have a desire for the Transcendent. Secondly, in the history of secularization in Europe that has been going on for several centuries, it did not completely nullify religion from public life. Religion is still present in forms that have been adjusted to democratic values. Some religious symbols are also still used. Third, I don’t argue that religion needs to be incorporated into politics. What I want to deliver here is that we need to see the relationship proportionately. Religious groups have the right to propose their religious views in the public sphere. But at the same time, they need to develop reasonable arguments. They should translate their religious values to be compatible with the values of democracy and justice in a pluralistic society.

Abstract

Since the beginning of its appearance at the Prophet's time to the Companions, the Hadith has never been free from controversy. For example, the delay in codification and the prohibition on hadith writing. This condition made orientalists accused the Hadith is inauthentic. Another issue is the issue of authority, whether Hadith has the legal force that binds all people. Moreover, if the Hadith deals with various interests, its authoritative power becomes conditional. It can be very authoritative when dealing with an ongoing problem in a particular area but barren when dealing with the same problem in another place. In Muslim society, the Hadith is the second authoritative source of law after the Qur'an. Even for the Hadith with mutawatir status, the power of authority is the same as the Qur'an. The digitization of the Hadith is still very weak and limited when compared to the Qur'an, so it is difficult to find its software. People who do not have competence in the Hadith will choose to use search engines on the internet such as Google. The results obtained also come from sources whose credibility is dubious. Lidwa Pusaka answered this challenge by releasing the Nine Imams Book of Hadith software. The position and function of the Hadith are very vital as a guide for the life of Muslims. When solving a problem without using Hadith, accusations of anti-hadith, breaking the Sunnah, and various negative stigmas will arise.
