Abstract

This study aims to explain (1) the effect of entrepreneurial attitude of SME managers on SME organizational performance and (2) the effect of business manager’s ability on SME organizational performance. Data are collected using questionnaires with a sample size of 35 respondents. The data come from the respondents as SME owners or representatives who are familiar with the SME operational and management activities. Research data are processed using multiple regression analysis. The results show that entrepreneurship attitude has an effect on the performance of SME organization, while business ability has no effect at all.

Abstract

Batik industry, including Betawi Batik, ever experienced a gloomy period due to the rise of modern textile industry. Fortunately, this industry has raised again after UNESCO states that Batik is one of the Indonesian cultural heritages. The government of DKI Jakarta with Betawi Cultural Institution initiate to popularize Batik Betawi by establishing Batik Betawi Family (or KKB). Since 2012, KBB has succeeded in producing studios in Jabodetabek area, which are mostly driven by women. Entrepreneurial characteristic can become a factor affecting the growth and development of Batik studios as an effort to grow and preserve Batik Betawi. This study aims to identify the characteristics of woman entrepreneurship as Betawi Batik activist. This research uses phenomenology approach to explain how a person gives meaning and interprets actions that are done related to her business activity. Respondents are determined using purposive sampling technique, and data are collected through conducting interviews on three women as activists of Batik Tarogong, Batik Gandaria and Batik Rusunawa Marunda. The triangulation results identify five characteristics of Batik woman entrepreneur: (1) can relate well with others, (2) honest and respect others’ rights, 3) capable to run a business, (4) open to criticism and suggestions, and (5) have a willing to learn from mistakes. These five characteristics include three dimensions of entrepreneurial characteristics namely personality dimension, managerial dimension and agent of change dimension.

Abstract

This research is conducted to determine the effect of NPL, BOPO, and LDR on Stock Return of private banks and government banks as conventional banks in Indonesia. This research uses multiple linear regression analysis with three predictors. The results show that NPL and LDR have no significant effect on Stock Return, while BOPO has significant effect on Stock Return.

Abstract

This study aims to explore entrepreneurship in car-free day. Data were collected through interviews to 13 car-free day visitors as informants. The theme analysis (Creswell, 2009) was used to analyze the data. This research succeeded in exploring entrepreneurship in car-free day in the context of exploiting opportunity by selling merchandise required by the visitors. The visitors felt the social interaction during the car-free day. However, social interaction did not have an impact on entrepreneurship.

Abstract

Ecotourism village development uses social entrepreneurship approach. The village has water springs, rivers, conserved forest and its own biodiversity. The involvement of the community to increase the welfare of the community, to grow the sense of belonging and to grow the sense of responsibility to the existence and sustainability of the living environment are important parts of the development of social entrepreneurship. The aim of the research is to describe the implementation of social entrepreneurship in the development of Ecotourism Village. The research is done using qualitative method, by describing the implementation of the science, technology, and art program to Ecotourism Village within the framework of social entrepreneurship. The primary data source is acquired by observation, interview, and focus group discussion. The secondary data source is acquired from relevant references.

Abstract

Everyone can experience stress especially career women. Their work problems can cause stress. Career women go shopping to reduce their stress. Then, credit card become their alternative payment method to pay. However, if the use of credit card is not properly managed, it can lead to unhealthy usage of credit card. This research will explore correlation between three variables there are self-control, neuroticism personality tendencies dan unhealthy usage of credit card. Total participants are 73 career women. Multiply correlation analysis shows self-control and neuroticism personality tendencies are related with unhealthy usage of credit card among career women in Surabaya (R=0.447 ρ=0.000); Partial correlation analysis shows (1) There is no relation between self-control and the unhealthy usage of credit card among career women in Surabaya (r=-0.266 ρ=0.024); (2) There is no relation between neuroticism personality tendencies and the unhealthy usage of credit card among career women in Surabaya (r=0.321 ρ=0.006).

Abstract

Business development in Indonesia grows rapidly, especially in trade and service field. Due to the economy growth, service industry must be more creative and innovative in creating products, one of them is decoration service. Dreamland Decoration is the company in service field that was established in 2014. Dreamland Decoration accepts orders such as table setting, sweet corner, birthday surprise with unique theme and creative design. This research is done to found out the influence of word of mouth and sales promotion on consumer purchasing decision in using service of Dreamland Decoration. This research uses quantitative method and multiple regression analysis model by involving Dreamland Decoration customers as 80 respondents then is processed by using SPSS 22. The result of this research that has been done states that word of mouth and sales promotion have positive influence on consumer decision in using Dreamland Decoration service.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship education as method needs further exploration in the context of school. Entrepreneurship Center of Ciputra University collaborated with a number of schools in Indonesia developed the K-12, Ciputra Way Learning Cycle. As many as 355 final year students from six schools were involved in this study to gain better understanding towards the factors influencing entrepreneurial competences. Using the method of Structural Equation Model (SEM), result shows that growth orientation, assessment for improvement, positively influence entrepreneurial competences.

Abstract

Selama ini kelanggengan entrepreneurship dalam bentuk bisnis keluarga sering dipertanyakan. Ada anggapan bahwa generasi pertama membangun, generasi kedua membesarkan, dan generasi ketiga menghancurkan. Di sisi lain, terdapat pula data yang menunjukkan bahwa hingga saat ini ada sejumlah perusahaan keluarga yang masih bertahan hidup sekalipun telah berusia ratusan tahun. Fakta menarik seperti ini memunculkan pertanyaan penting: “Apa yang membuat bisnis keluarga bisa langgeng?” Artikel ini berusaha menelaah secara sistematis riset-riset terdahulu yang telah terpublikasi di Indonesia maupun mancanegara, berkenaan dengan penyebab ketidaklanggengan maupun kelanggengan bisnis keluarga. Secara umum, literatur mengungkap bahwa ketergantungan yang terlampau kuat pada figur pendiri sekaligus pemimpin dan pengelola menyebabkan banyak perusahaan keluarga yang mati seiring dengan tutup usianya sang pendiri. Faktor-faktor lain yang juga berperan penting, di antaranya konflik kepentingan antar anggota keluarga, kurangnya profesionalisme kerja, masalah suksesi, kekurangan sumber daya, dan model bisnis tradisional yang sudah usang. Sementara itu, kemampuan menjaga keseimbangan antara nilai-nilai yang perlu dipertahankan (family values) dan aspek-aspek yang perlu lebih fleksibel (sistem manajemen modern) merupakan determinan kunci kelanggengan bisnis keluarga.

Abstract

Di negara berkembang, termasuk Indonesia, banyak permasalahan terkait kemiskinan, misalnya buta huruf, masalah kesehatan, serta kesenjangan sosial-ekonomi. Kemiskinan menjalar dalam beragam bentuk dan menjadi inti dari permasalahan sosial. Ketidakmerataan ekonomi, keberagaman dalam masyarakat, berbagai aspek politik, serta kondisi geografis negara kepulauan yang tersebar dapat menjadi sumber konflik sosial laten. Salah satu cara untuk menghadapinya adalah mendorong lahirnya sociopreneur. Salah satu karakter yang membedakan antara business entrepreneur dan social entrepreneur adalah kepedulian sosial dan kesadaran komunitas, disebut dengan altruisme. Pribadi altruistik memiliki lima karakteristik, yaitu empati yang tinggi, mempercayai dunia yang adil, tanggung jawab sosial, locus of control internal, dan egosentrisme rendah. Telah terbukti bahwa mendongeng efektif dalam menanamkan nilai dan moral pada anak-anak. Anak belajar untuk bersabar, berimajinasi, dan menggunakan emosi saat mendengar dongeng. Dalam paparan ini dijelaskan lima tahap untuk masa kanak-kanak awal agar mendongeng efektif untuk menanamkan nilai dan moral pada anak, yaitu berpikir reflektif dan diskusi, membandingkan beberapa dongeng serupa, memberi respon dengan menggambar dan menulis, dramatisasi, dan narasi oral. Oleh karena itu, melalui paparan ini, para pendidik diharapkan mampu memanfaatkan dongeng secara efektif untuk menanamkan nilai dan moral pada anak-anak sebagai modal mendorong lahirnya para sociopreneur.
