Abstract

The issuance of Kutai Kartanegara Regional Regulation Number 7 of 2023 for the Spatial Plan (RTRW) of Kutai Kartanegara Regency for 2023-2042 forms the basis for preparing the RDTR for Sebulu Urban Area. The 2019 Kutai Kartanegara Regent Regulation guided the RDTR preparation using earlier regulations. New guidelines in 2021 necessitated RDTR mapping adjustments. This study aims to analyze RDTR mapping before and after improvements, using a qualitative approach and descriptive method. Techniques include overlay and topology analysis, evaluating strategic contents and the mapping database. Strategic content evaluation checks Green Open Space (RTH), forests, Sustainable Food Agricultural Land (LP2B), administrative boundaries, and national policies. Mapping database evaluation checks topology, database naming, attribute tables, element classification, geometry, and map presentation. Findings show RDTR mapping needed adjustments per Ministerial Regulations No. 11 and 14 of 2021, specifically RTH, LP2B, and spatial structure plans for hazardous materials. This research aims to guide improvements in Sebulu Urban Area's RDTR mapping.

Abstract

The development of learning products in the form of worksheets aims to increase student engagement in learning. This research aims to develop a problem-based learning geography worksheet on the topic of biodiversity for 11th-grade students at SMA Global Prestasi. The research uses a research and development (R&D) method with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The researcher designed the product, validation instruments, and material analysis. The material analysis phase was conducted by media experts, subject matter experts, and learning practitioners. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and interviews with descriptive analysis. The validation test met the criteria for being highly valid with a score of 4. The student assessment met the criteria for being highly engaging with a score of 3.7. Based on these results, it can be concluded that problem-based learning worksheets can be used to enhance student engagement in learning geography.

Abstract

Abstract

This study analyzes land cover changes in BSD City from 2002 to 2023 using the Semi-Unsupervised Threshold-Based and Jenks Optimization Classification (SUT-JOC) method. Five land cover types were mapped for 2002, 2013, and 2023: built-up area, bare soil, vegetated area, sparsely vegetated area, and water bodies. The results show significant urban expansion from 2002 to 2023, with built-up areas increasing from 2,202 hectares to 4,498 hectares. Land transitions followed a clear pattern, starting from vegetated areas to bare soil, then to built-up land, with spatial development shifting from east to west. Classification accuracy ranged from 88% in 2002 to 96% in 2023, with Kappa values approaching 0.95. The integration of NDVI, MNDWI, and NDBI with rule-based classification reduced manual intervention and improved reliability. These findings highlight the dynamics of peri-urban growth, environmental impacts such as urban heat island effects, and offer insights for sustainable urban planning. SUT-JOC provides a scalable and interpretable framework for multi-temporal urban land monitoring.

Abstract

Fire is a serious threat that causes loss of property and life. Effective coordination and mapping of fire-prone areas using GIS technology is needed to increase the efficiency of fire management. This research aims to identify the equitable distribution of fire department office infrastructure in Bogor, make it easier to map fire-prone areas, and build and integrate WebGIS technology using the Waterfall method to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of fire management. The integration of WebGIS technology has also been proven to provide benefits in improving the accuracy of mapping and information. spatial... The results of the research show that the mapping of fire service offices in Bogor is uneven, with a number of areas having high levels of fire but not supported by the presence of a fire station. These findings underscore the urgency to improve infrastructure with even distribution of fire stations, so that responses to fire-prone areas can be optimized effectively. This research highlights the importance of coordination between the Fire Department and mapping fire-prone areas in more effective mitigation efforts, by utilizing WebGIS technology.

Abstract

The strategic importance of national defense is closely related to natural resources, strategic material reserves, particularly Rare Earth Elements (REE), and the national defense industry, which is crucial for achieving defense independence. However, the exploration of REE in Indonesia has not been optimally conducted despite its vast geological potential. This research focused on mapping the distribution of REE in the Sabang Waters by applying geomarine exploration methods supported by seismic data analysis and sediment sampling. The analysis utilized seismic facies interpretation within a quantitative framework. Findings revealed a spatial association between REE distribution and geological structures influenced by volcanic activity, particularly fumaroles. These geological features potentially indicate new REE-bearing zones in shallow marine environments. This association is proposed as a new approach to REE exploration in marine tectonic settings. The research highlights the relevance of integrating remote sensing and geological data in mapping strategic minerals to support defense industry resilience.

Abstract

This research conducts a qualitative comparative analysis of three digital map platforms for flood risk communication in the Ciliwung River Basin: ArcGIS StoryMaps, Government Portals, and PetaBencana.id. Using literature review and content analysis, each platform's effectiveness was evaluated based on its relevance within the disaster management cycle. The findings show they are complementary; StoryMaps excels at pre-disaster education, Government Portals provide official early warnings, and PetaBencana.id is vital for real-time situational awareness. Information fragmentation on government portals is a key weakness. The study recommends an integrated portal combining official sensor data with crowdsourced data to create a synergistic risk communication ecosystem.
