Abstract

The presence of women migrants in urban industrial workers proved that women's movement exists. This migration process not only indicates that women are actively involved in economic activity, but also influences the decision-making on important activities within the family and society. This study aims to determine the relationship between mobility patterns and its contribution to economic and decision-making in the family through the survey as research methods. The data were analysed by descriptive analysis, statistics approach, and correlation maps. For the independence test in the bivariate table, we used the chi square method, and to display the distribution of two variables simultaneously, a cross-tabulation was used. After that, to assess whether there is a relationship between the two variables, the table of independence was used. Our study shows that decision-making became an indicator of strengthening the role of women with a pattern of circular migration, which has a relationship on economic contribution. However, the behavior of women who perform the spatial migration in strengthening roles in families is not always relevant with the strengthening role of the economy. A strong role is only demonstrated by industrial migrant workers working on a circular migration pattern.

Abstract

Pandeglang Regency is an area that has a large potential level of Tsunamis. This is based on the fact that Geographically Pandeglang Regency located near the Krakatau Anak Volcano and plate subduction path of Indo-Australia in the Sunda Strait cause Pandeglang Regency to become one of the regions that has a tsunami potential. Therefore, it is necessary to mitigate from an early age in order to overcome and prevent large losses. One of the steps that can be taken is to identify the potential coverage area of the inundation. The results of the calculations from these data are then entered into the Tsunami scenario modeling. Which in this case is divided into 3 scenarios, for Pandeglang Regency, the first scenario with a 100-year period the maximum tsunami height from the coastline is 7.5 meters. For the second scenario with a 2000-year period with a predicted maximum height of 15 meters and the last scenario with a period of 2500 years with a predicted height of 20 meters. The results show that in the Tsunami wave modeling 7.5 m of the widest inundation occurs in Panimbang District this is due to land cover consisting of ponds, rice fields, irrigation, plantations and gentle slopes. The conditions that occur in the well-sphere cause this area to become a flooded area with the highest area at the tsunami wave modeling of 15 m. Sumur Sub-district is also the area with the largest inundation at the 20 m tsunami wave modeling.

Abstract

Chlorophyll-a is an indicator of the abundance of phytoplankton in the waters that play a role in the photosynthesis process. Chlorophyll-a measurement can be done in two ways, namely conventional and the use of remote sensing technology. This research method utilizes remote sensing technology Landsat 8 imagery processed using ER Mapper 7.1 software. The purpose of this study is to inform the comparison of chlorophyll-a before and after the tsunami disaster in the waters of Palu Bay, Central Sulawesi Province. The results showed that these waters had increased the abundance of phytoplankton after the tsunami disaster

Abstract

Abstract Bengkulu City is one of the cities on the west coast of Sumatra Island which has been influenced by the Indo-Australian Plate  and  the  Eurasian  Plate  as  well  as  the  Mentawai  Fault.  This  condition  makes  Bengkulu  City  prone  to  earthquakes  and tsunamis. The purpose of this study is to determine the spatial pattern of earthquake and tsunami prone areas as one of the disaster mitigation efforts. Earthquake-prone areas were observed by looking for the Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) of earthquakes in Bengkulu City from 2010 to 2018 while tsunami-prone areas were observed by looking for the area of tsunami inundation in 3 scenarios, namely the wave height of 5 meters, 20 meters and 25 meters from the coastline . The results showed that the highly developed area with the highest risk was the southern coast of Bengkulu City with a high PGA area and a large tsunami inundation from a tsunami wave height of 25 meters. This area is located in the Kampung Melayu sub-district with a predisposition of an affected area of 653.69 hectares.

Abstract

Bengkulu City is the center for almost all activities and has a high population growth rate. Because of the high population growth rate, human needs for space and land will increase. Land availability will continue to decline, while it cannot increase the existing area. This will impact the carrying capacity of the environment, so it needs predictions for land availability. This study used a spatial dynamics model which is an analysis of the dynamic system model and the suitability of the built-up area. The carrying capacity to reach excellent quality when the length of the built-up area is 30-70% of the total area that can be used. The results showed that the built-up area will reach 70% in 2030, which means it will exceed the environmental carrying capacity threshold. The results showed there were differences between the distribution patterns of built-up area in the spatial dynamics model and Spatial Planning Bengkulu City in 2032 at Kampung Melayu Subdistrict, Selebar Subdistrict, Singaran Pati Subdistrict, and Sungai Serut Subdistrict.

Abstract

Pandeglang Regency is an area that has the potentiel to be hit by tsunamis. The plate subduction paths of Indo-Australia and Anak Krakatau Volcano make Pandeglang Regency a region with a high tsunami potential. One step that can be taken to overcome and minimize losses is to do spatial planning to protect it against potential tsunami damage. This research aimed to evaluate the spatial area of Pandeglang Regency based on the identification of potential tsunami hazards.  The concept of modelling the tsunami inundation height developed by Berryman and based on Head Regulation No.4 of 2012 of the Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management has been used to identify potential tsunami hazards. The modelling was carried out by calculating the potential distribution of tsunami wave heights in coastal areas.  Three scenarios were used to estimate the distribution. The results showed that the first scenario predicted a maximum tsunami height   of 7.5 meters above sea level with the furthest tsunami inundation reaching 1,700.12 meters. Second scenario predicted maximum height of 15 meters, with the furthest tsunami inundation reaching 3,384.62 meters. Meanwhile, the last scenario was able to predict a height of 20 meters and showed the furthest tsunami inundation reaching 5.155,11 meters. These results proved that in all scenarios, the widest inundation would occur in Panimbang Regency. This is due to the relatively small variations in roughness and slope of the surface. The same condition also occurs in the last two scenarios, in which Sumur District was the area most ffected. Therefore, the spatial plan of Pandeglang Regency needs to be evaluated and the function of residential area changed to reduce and prevent large losses.

Abstract

ABSTRACTIndonesia's total area 70% is Sea, in which live a variety of marine biota. One of these biota is seaweed. Seaweed is one of the biodiversity that is very abundant in Indonesia, which is about 8.6% of the total biota in the sea. The area that has become the habitat of seaweed in Indonesia reaches 1.2 million hectares or the largest in the world. The Potential of seaweed should continue to be excavated, therefore many researchers who are interested in nutrients contained in this seaweed. Sunda Strait is the strait that connects the island of Java and Sumatera in Indonesia, and connects the sea of Java to the Indian Ocean. At the narrowest point, the width of Sunda Strait is only about 30 km. If seen from the other side of Indonesia it self is in the Ring of Fire between the Asian plate and Indo-Asia also the Pacific makes the country is rich in volcanoes on land and sea. Sea mount in Indonesia which has a large eruption and explosively one of them is Mount Anak Krakatau. Of course it affects the surrounding environment that contains many nutrients therein. This Review discusses substances that are contained on Mount of fire for example Carbon monoxide substances, carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, and nitrogen, substances contained in seaweed such as cellulose Caco3 (calcium carbonate), Fulcellaran and Porpiran alginic acid, silicon, and substances contained in the Sunda Strait such as SiO2 (silica), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), potassium (K) and phosphorus (P). The results of this study are expected for the community to know the substances that make the seaweed fertile in order to be utilized properly. Keywords: mount of fire, nutrient, seaweed, Sunda Strait water.

Abstract

Abstract

E-COMMERCE WEBSITE AS A MEDIA FOR PROMOTING SALES OF FISHERMEN’S WIFE GROUP SEAFOOD PROCESSING IN KARANGANTU. Currently fish caught from husbands who work as fishermen can only be marketed fresh, and if they are not sold, they will be discarded or used as animal feed. Fish product development processing is being carried out by agencies for groups of fishermen’s wives. We carried out community service by marketing team that can help increase fishermen household income. Marketing strategy is by creating a website. The objectives of community service through this activity are as follows: (a) Introducing fishermen’s wives to information media for sales, (b) Creating Banten Bahari E-Commerce Website (BAHARI) which later can be used as marketing media by fisherman wives. Method to achieve the first goal is by community education, and for online we use the Waterfall method. The socialization of online media introduction for marketing marine products in Karangantu was well responded by fishermen’s wives. Making the BAHARI website is one of promotional media that fishermen’s wives can use in the future.
