Abstract

This research was conducted to analyze the difficulties encountered by the prospective teacher of Biology FKIP Universitas Abulyatama during the Teaching Training Program at Personal issues. This research was a descriptive research with quantitative approach. Data collection in this study were obtained by questionnaires in the form of Likert scale. The result showed that lack of creativity was the main difficulties faced by the biology prospective teacher (67%; medium). On the other hand, being far from spouse, children and household related problems were the least encountered difficulties (28%; low) during the Teaching Training Program.

Abstract

Setiap kegiatan yang dilakukan tidak bebas dari kesulitan, demikian juga dalam kegiatan belajar siswa. Kegiatan belajar siswa termasuk mata pelajaran biologi ditemui juga kesulitan, terutama di SMA Negeri 1 Krueng Barona Jaya Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Berkenaan dengan hal itu telah dilakukan penelitian dengan judul analisis faktor penyebab kesulitan belajar mata pelajaran biologi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Krueng Barona Jaya Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui  faktor penyebab dan faktor yang mendominasi kesulitan belajar pada mata       pelajaran biologi siswa kelas X SMA N 1 Krueng Barona Jaya. Populasi dan sampel penelitian seluruh siswa kelas X MIA 1 dan MIA 2 berjumlah 59 orang (total sampel/penelitan populasi). Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survei dengan instrumen penelitiannya angket. Penelitian didesain satu kali tanpa pengulangan. Data dianalisis dengan teknik skala Guttman dan teknik persentase (%).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Krueng Barona Jaya mengalami kesulitan dalam belajar mata pelajaran biologi, faktor penyebab kesulitan belajar terdiri atas faktor alat pelajaran, faktor metode/strategi mengajar guru, faktor lingkungan sekolah, faktor orang tua, faktor  motivasi, faktor intelegensi, faktor media pembelajaran, faktor kesehatan, faktor minat, dan faktor perhatian siswa, dan faktor dominan penyebab kesulitan belajar terdiri atas faktor alat pelajaran, metode/strategi mengajar guru, lingkungan sekolah, dan orang tua

Abstract

This study aims to provide an alternative of vocabulary teaching through the use of English-language film clips and videos with subtitles with relevant activities which was conducted towards students of Class XI of SMAIT Al Fityan School. This research was conducted online using one pretest and posttest group through a mixed method approach; qualitative and quantitative research (quasi experiment). The data in quantitative form come from online tests. The data in qualitative form, to clarify the test results, come from the questionnaires, interviews, and observations. Based on the nonparametric statistical tests taken by 30 students of Class XI IPA and XI IPS using the Wilcoxon Test with the value of Sig. or the P value 0.000 in which 0.000> α 0.05. This result shows a significant difference between the pretest and posttest. These results indicate that the use of clip film and video media with subtitles may support students’ understanding & improvement of vocabulary learning besides may obtain new learning experiences for the senior high school students.

Abstract

This study examined the relationship between self-concept and students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This was conducted in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri (MTsN) Kota Banda Aceh. The method in this research was survey method with correlation technique that is looking for the relationship between self-concept with students’ mathematical mass solving ability. The population of the study was all the students class VIII. The sample in this research was the students of class VIII-10 and VIII-11 which consisted to 54 students based on the results of considerations submitted principals and teachers of mathematics study at the school. The hypothesis in this research is “There is a relationship between self-concept and mathematical problem-solving abilities”. The instruments used are self-concept scales and students' mathematical problem-solving tests. The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between self-concept with students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The contribution given by the self-concep variable to the mathematical problem solving ability is 24.6% and the rest is influenced by other factors or variables.

Abstract

This study aims to describe community perceptions and expectations of the Implementation of Eight Education Standards (1) content standards, (2) process standards, (3) graduate competency standards, (4) teaching staff standards, (5) standard facilities and infrastructure (6) management standards, (7) financing standards, and (8) assessment standards in Aceh Besar District. This research was conducted using descriptive methods, especially quantitative descriptive. Using questionnaire / questionnaire method, which is a method of data collection by using a questionnaire containing questions that are relevant to the purpose of the study. The results of the study illustrate that the application of national education standards in Aceh Besar which has been implemented so far has resulted in the perception of the community is very good

Abstract

Matematika adalah salah satu mata pelajaran yang diajarkan dari jenjang sekolah dasar, sekolah menengah pertama, dan sekolah menengah atas. Matematika identik dengan materi hitungan dan bersifat abstrak tanpa bisa membentuk akhlak peserta didik dengan nilai-nilai akhlakul karimah yang ada dalam islam. Padahal sejatinya tujuan pembelajaran yang diharapkan salah satunya adalah membentuk peserta didik yang bertakwa, berpengatahuan dan berbudi pekerti yang luhur.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat persepsi literasi matematis mahasiswa terhadap nilai-nilai keislaman. Penelitian ini menggunakan mixed-methods yang mengandung pertanyaan terbuka dan tertutup. Populasi penelitian ini semua mahasiswa FTIK IAIN lhokseumawe dan sampel penelitian adalah 64 orang mahasiswa FTIK IAIN Lhokseumawe yang dipilih secara acak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa mempunyai persepsi positif terkait literasi matematis terhadap nilai-nilai keislaman. Terdapat 89% mahasiswa mempunyai persepsi positif dan sebagain kecil sisanya 11% mahasiswa berpersepsi lain. Persepsi mahasiswa terhadap nilai tanggung jawab sebesar 96%, nilai keadilan sebesar 89%, nilai kejujuran sebesar 98%, nilai konsisten dan sistematis terhadap aturan sebesar 96%, nilai gotong royong sebesar 65%, nilai tolong menolong sebesar 85%, dan nilai saling menghargai sebesar 80%.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a qualitative instrument for entrepreneur knowledge. Based on previous research, it was prepared a set of questions to determine the items that make up the entrepreneurial knowledge. Ten informants involved, they are all the entrepreneur. They were asked their opinions regarding the knowledge they need in running a business. The focus group discussion conducted to find the data. The results showed that there are four dimensions of knowledge entrepreneurs namely the level of education with three items statements, functional knowledge with ten items of the statement, the skill with nine items statement and the last is self-confidence with four  items statement.

Abstract

This study aims at determining individual differences from aspects of intelligence and talent and their implications for learning. These individual differences need to be given special treatment in order to identify problems that arise. Knowing the factors that influence individual differences can provide solutions and detect early on and appropriate treatment  in accordance with the child’s development. This research uses literature study method by processing and analyzing a number of relevant literature. Data are analyzed, grouped, and interpreted to determine the factors that influence individual differences. The results showed that individual differences based on the aspects of intelligence and talent can be given attention from parents, encouraging expression, choosing a good school for children, and efforts to address individual differences in learning with open learning in children at school.

Abstract

Updating teaching, applying appropriate methods, provision of instructional media should primarily be done in Mathematics education, because in Mathematics education in general, there are still many obstacles and problems encountered, such as the value of children for subjects of low Mathematics, Mathematics lessons have no meaning as part in life eans –day, Math lesson is still regarded as a difficult lesson, learning mathematics conducted by teachers still tend to be conventional, lack of application of demonstration methods in learning Mathematics, lack of innovative power, creativity in learning Mathematics make this subject is not liked by children. The purpose of this study is to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes by using media on the material beams in class V SD Kemala Bhayangkari. This research was conducted in class V SD Kemala Bhayangkari, the subject of this research is the students of grade V SD Kemala Bhayangkari with the number of 20 students. This type of research is a classroom action research consisting of two cycles. The results obtained as many as 19 students or 95% complete and 1 student or 5% students are not complete. It means that there is an increasing of the students' learning mastery. This increase is as expected above 75% of the total number of students. This 95% completeness criterion above 75% indicates that the improvement of learning in cycle II has been successful.Keywords : Media, Material Beam

Abstract

This paper attempts to discuss the change issue which is the implementation of teacher certification policy that has been implemented in Indonesia. Teacher certification in Indonesia has been implemented for almost a decade and there is not much significant evidence yet about the effect of teacher certification program on students' outcomes. This essay tries to look at the aspects that make the program successful and what are the challenges that might be faced by teachers. In exploring the issue this paper will use the following approach. Firstly, the notion of change will be discussed and then followed by the discussion of teacher certification. Then, framed against this inquiry will be the introduction of a case study based on the implementation of the teacher certification program in Indonesia.  Along with the case study, the difficulties of implementing this program will be presented. Finally, several thoughts and considerations of the best solution for teachers and policymakers to respond to the situation will be drawn accordingly.
