Abstract

Piroxicam is a non steroidal anti inflammatory drug (NSAID) has poor solubility with delayed onset of action. This can be overcome by created drug delivery systems capable of accelerating the disintegration and dissolution of the tablet piroxicam as Orally Disintegrating Tablets (ODT). The combined of pregelatinized cassava starch and Kollidon® CL as superdisintegrant is expected to generate ODT piroxicam with good physical properties. Optimization by simplex lattice design method was applied to optimize ODT piroxicam. The optimum area was determined using superimposed contour plot of hardness, friability, wetting time, disintegration time, and dissolution at 3 minute used Design Expert software. The result showed that optimum of ODT piroxicam with optimum physical properties was pregelatinized cassava starch 12,13 mg Kollidon® CL 5,87 mg.

Abstract

A prescription is a written request from a physician or dentist, to a pharmacist, both in paper and electronic form to provide and deliver medicine for patients, based on the regulation of the Minister of Health RI number 73 of 2016 concerning the standards of pharmacy services in pharmacies that in the service of prescriptions must perform administrative services that include the patient's name, age of the patient, patient's gender, weight of the patient, doctor's name, doctor's SIP number, doctor's addres, doctor’s phone number, doctor’s signature and recipe date. The purpose of this research is to know the percentage of the prescribed parameters of the administrative completeness in Banjarmasin X Pharmacy in 2019. Research conducted in Banjarmasin X pharmacy using non experimental design methods that are descriptive analytical. The population used in this study was 13,947 recipe sheets, with a sample of 389 prescription drugs at the Banjarmasin X Pharmacy in 2019. Sampling uses a randomized and propotional technique. The results showed from samples of 389 prescription sheets 0.26% that meet the administrative completeness of the recipe with the details of existing patient names 100%, doctor name 95.10%, doctor's address is 94.60%, doctor phone number 93.30%, recipe date 77.40%, doctor’s license number 66.80%, age patients 50.90%, doctor signature 31.40%, patient gender 7.50% and patient weight 2.80%.

Abstract

Coenzyme Q10 berfungsi sebagai antioksidan yang dapat melindungi tubuh dari kerusakan yang dikarenakan radikal bebas. Coenzyme Q10 tidak stabil dan mudah terdegradasi ketika terpapar cahaya sehingga perlu dipilih suatu sistem penghantaran yang dapat memperbaiki stabilitas serta dapat meningkatkan penetrasinya. Nanostructured Lipid Carier (NLC) merupakan salah satu metode untuk meningkatkan penetrasi obat melalui stratum corneum. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh HPMC 606 terhadap kadar Coenzyme Q10 yang terpenetrasi pada kulit tikus. Pada penelitian ini dibuat sediaan patch tipe membran menggunakan sistem NLC. Coenzyme Q10 sebagai drug reservoir, sedangkan HPMC 606 sebagai rate controlling membran dengan kadar 20%, 15%, dan 10%. Uji penetrasi Coenzyme Q10 dari sediaan patch secara in vivo dengan menggunakan kulit tikus Wistar. Semakin kecil kadar HPMC 606 yang digunakan (20%, 15%, 10%) ternyata menghasilkan nilai fluks yang cenderung semakin besar (F1 = 15,714±0,257 %/jam ; F2 = 14,778±0,224 %/jam ; dan F3 = 13,765±0,182 %/jam) dan lag time yang semakin cepat (F1 = 0,523±0,029 jam ; F2 = 0,657±0,021 jam ; dan F3 = 0,679±0,016 jam). Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin kecil HPMC 606 yang digunakan sebagai rate controlling membrane, maka semakin besar Coenzyme Q10 yang berpenetrasi, sehingga F1 terpilih sebagai formula yang paling baik.

Abstract

Various evidence states that counseling carried out by pharmacists can improve adherence to taking medication in hypertensive patients and even improve the outcome of therapy. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of counseling on the compliance of hypertensive patients in various health facilities. The research method used is the literature study method which is carried out by searching for scientific evidence and collecting literature from various trusted databases, namely Scince Direct, Scopus Google Scholar, Elsavier, SINTA. There are 12 literatures used in this study, consisting of 8 national journals indexed by SINTA 1-4, 2 international journals indexed by SCOPUS and 2 Proceedings of the research. The results showed that counseling provided by pharmacists were significant in increasing adherence, controlling sodium, fat intake and lowering blood pressure also improving the quality of life of patients. This research is expected to be material for further research on counseling to increase the effectiveness of therapy and can be an input for future government policies in overcoming hypertension emergencies so as to add strategies in providing effective pharmaceutical care counseling.

Abstract

Saponin yang ada pada ekstrak kumala tawar (costus speciosus) berefek sebagai antibakteri. Sediaan gel di masyarakat lebih disukai karena penggunaannya yang praktik dan efisien. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memformulasikan gel hand sanitizer ekstrak kumala tawar serta potensinya sebagai antibakteri. Ekstrak Kumala Tawar terbagi pada 4 konsentrasi yang berbeda (F0 0%, FI 1%, FII 2% dan FIII 3%) diformulasikan dalam sediaan gel hand sanitizer menggunakan basis Carbopol. Evaluasi dari gel hand sanitizer meliputi karakteristik fisik (organoleptik, homogenitas, uji daya lekat dan uji daya sebar), karakteristik kimia (pH) dan karakteristik mikrobiologi (uji antibakteri). Hasil organoleptic menunjukkan semua formula berwarna cokelat dengan tekstur semi padat dan aroma khas Kumala Tawar. semua formula homogen. Pada Uji daya lekat Formula F0, FI, FII dan FIII menunjukkan hasil (3,18; 1,05; 1,24; dan 0,86 detik), uji daya sebar (3,64; 4,68; 6,44; dan 7,02 cm), pH (7,4; 7,1; 7,2 dan 6,4), uji antibakteri Ekstrak Kumala Tawar, FI, FII dan FIII hasil daya hambat menunjukkan ( 2,7; 1,33; 1,73 dan 2,06 mm). Tidak ada perbedaan signifikan pada uji pH, daya lekat, daya sebar dan uji antibakteri. Ekstrak Kumala Tawar hingga konsentrasi 3% dapat diformulasikan dalam sediaan gel hand sanitizer menggunakan basis Carbopol. Pada formula FII dan FIII menunjukkan stabilitas, karakteristik dan mempunyai efek antibakteri yang baik

Abstract

Schizophrenia is the most common psychotic disorders. Incidence rate 1-2% in the population counted from populations who have experienced the condition. The most common type is paranoid schizophrenia. Antipsychotic combination therapy is widely used in schizophrenia. There are some problems in schizophrenia therapy due to antipsychotics use, one of them is parkinsonism as a side effect of treatment. The aimed of the research was to identified the combination therapy and symptoms of parkinsonism experienced by paranoid schizophrenia patients who use therapy with 2 combinations of antipsychotics. This was a descriptive study, retrospective data collection technique using 93 medical records in 2018 period. The results showed the use of 2 types of antipsychotic combinations,haloperidol-chlorpromazine (44.1%) and haloperidol-risperidone (55.9%) combinations. The number of patients who experienced parkinsonism on haloperidol-chlorpromazine combination therapy (N = 41) was 20 patients and who did not experience 21 patients. Whereas in the combination therapy of haloperidol-risperidone (N = 52), there were 16 patients with parkinsonism and 36 patients who did not. Parkinsonism experienced by patients include hypersaliva; muscle tremors and rigidity. Percentage of parkinsonism in haloperidol-chlorpromazine combination therapy, including hypersaliva 42%; 50% tremor and 8% muscle rigidity. In the haloperidol-risperidone combination group, hypersaliva was 61%; tremor 15% and muscle rigidity 24%. The conclusion obtained from the results of the study is the percentage of parkinsonism in haloperidol-chlorpromazine combination therapy is greater than haloperidol-risperidone combination therapy.

Abstract

Bagian dari tanaman papaya yang juga tenyata memiliki kemampuan sebagai obat adalah bagian biji. Papaya memiliki banyak manfaat yang besar antara lain untuk melancarkan pencernaan, sebagai sumber antioksidan, bahkan mampu berfungsi sebagai antijamur dan bakteri. Tujuan dari review ini adalah memberikan ringkasan informasi mengenai ekstrak etanolik biji papaya terhadap aktivitas antibakteri. Informasi diperoleh dari systematic data base (Google schoolar, Pubmed, NCBI, Chimical database, dan proquest) yang terbit dalam 5 tahun terakhir. Berdasarkan pencarian diperoleh 13 artikel yang relevan. Hasil artikel yang didapatkan ekstrak etanolik biji papaya terbukti memiliki aktivitas antibakteri diantaranya terhadap bakteri Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Pasteurella multocida, Klebsiella pneumonia, Escherichia coli, Shigella dysentriae, dan Propionibacterium acnes dengan senyawa kimia serta derivatnya yang berperan yaitu Alkaloid (karpain), flavonoid, triterpenoid, fenol, dan steroid.

Abstract

Herbal cosmeceuticals are cosmetic-pharmaceutical hybrids intended to enhance health and beauty through natural ingredients that are applied onto skin surface. The ability of an ingredient in enhancing skin's biological texture and function depends on the delivery system to reach specific targeted sites in an amount sufficient to exert an effect in a controlled manner. The novel approach that could be used in the delivery of herbal cosmeceuticals is nanoparticle-based delivery system. Many researches have been conducted on the development of nanoparticle-based delivery system containing natural ingredients such as gotu kala extract, rosemary extract, orange peel extract, ginseng extract, basil extract, safflower extract, resveratrol, and Taduvelai extract. Based on the literature study of previous researches reported that nanoparticle-based delivery system has been successfully delivered those natural ingredients through certain mechanism in enhancing activity as skin antiaging, skin whitening, antiacne, and hair care product.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is a contagious disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The cause of tuberculosis treatment is often unsuccessful due to the emergence of drug side effects, which makes patients who experience drug side effects not adhering to treatment. This study aims to determine and identify any side effects that occur during treatment with OAT in tuberculosis patients. The research method used is literature study. The results showed that on average women who experienced drug side effects were women than men. The largest percentage of the body's organ systems that experience drug side effects are gastrointestinal, and the skin is the most common cause of adverse reactions. Common and dominant types of manifestations of drug side effects are nausea, itching, and lethargy. The majority of the score categories in this study obtained were in the "Maybe" category, and with the lowest "Certain" category. The side effects that you get depend on each individual, and not all individuals experience side effects due to the use of OAT.
