Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how leaders make decisions in creating a working climate and pay attention to teachers and staff in creating a working climate at SMPN 22 Kota Jambi, as well as the leadership's obstacles. This research is based on the fact that the principal has not fully paid attention to the performance of teachers and staff so that he has not achieved a successful conducive working climate. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach to the type of case study research. The research subjects were the principal, vice-principal, teacher, head of administration, and administrative staff. The technique used in this research was purposive sampling by determining specific characteristics in accordance with the research objectives. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews, and documents. The data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the principal took the right steps in making decisions and paid attention to teachers and staff in improving the work climate.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted changes in education, causing various problems in learning. Because of these problems, there are certain responses from students as a picture of their satisfaction with the learning carried out. This response will determine students' attitudes in learning, thus affecting the achievement of learning objectives. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the problems and student satisfaction in distance learning. The research was conducted using qualitative methods with a field research approach. Data were collected using the observation method, questionnaires given to students via google form, and documentation. Then the data were analyzed through reduction activities, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that the problem of distance learning that occurred in SMP Negeri 1 Pamijahan obtained a percentage of 58%, so it was classified as quite good, which inferred that the problem that occurred was not quite serious. The student satisfaction in distance learning obtained a percentage of 67%, thus it was classified as quite satisfactory. The aspects that need improvement because they resulted in bad category were aspects of understanding material and interaction, and less satisfied with aspects of material and learning methods.

Abstract

This study is based on the global pandemic experienced throughout the world, especially Indonesia. The presence of the Covid-19 Virus pandemic has an impact on various fields, one of which is education. In Indonesian education, for 14 days, even more, the whole teaching and learning activities were suspended, and the implementation of the National Examination was also postponed. Changes in teaching methods must also be made online. Many social media applications that can be used, but not all of these applications have a feature and appropriate facilities and attractive to be used as teaching materials to the students. This study used quantitative and qualitative methods. 30 students were chosen randomly at one of the private universities in Jakarta. Collecting and analyzing data directly from respondents through the questionnaire is a quantitative method that the author used. While, qualitative methods used was library research techniques to support the results of collecting data through questionnaires on the use of applications based on Android. This study is expected to present a selection of the proper application to assist the learning process so that it has implications on improving the students' understanding and activities.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the understanding of database system learning using Venn diagrams and relation diagrams. The first stage of the research was by conducting a pretest that contained the material, questions, and solutions using the Venn diagram and the relation diagram. The post-test stage was in the same way so that it can be seen an increase in student understanding of the database system by using Venn diagrams and relations as tools. The primary object of this research is to increase students' understanding of the database system using Venn diagram operations and relation diagrams to solve database system questions. The method used was pre-experimental research with the design of one group pretest and post-test design. The samples used were 45 students in semester 5 of the Informatics Engineering Department for the 2020/2021 academic year of Indraprasta University PGRI. The instruments collected were in the form of pretest and post-test results. The percentage result (P) was that the pretest to post-test scores has increased from 64.33% to 86.33% based on the Venn diagram. The statistical hypothesis test using the Wilcoxon test obtained a sig value of 0.000 <0.05, which concluded that there was an increase between the pretest and post-test results based on the Venn diagram compared to the relation diagram. Therefore, the author describes that the average Unindra PGRI students in semester five can understand database questions by applying the Venn diagram material between relationships.

Abstract

The character of hard work is a character that must not be vanished, especially for students at the end of class XII Senior High School. This study aimed to determine the results of the character of hard work description in physics subjects in class XII MIPA at SMAN 1 Jambi City. This study used a quantitative approach. This type of research was a survey with a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The sampling technique used in this study was simple random sampling. The subjects of this study were students of class XII MIPA 1, 2, and 3 in the 2020/2021 school year, with a total of 60 respondents. The data analysis technique in this study used the SPSS program. The results showed that the hard work questionnaire in physics was classified as "good". The number of students who had a hard work character which was categorized as very good resulted in a percentage of 8.3%. Meanwhile, the number of students who got the good category resulted in a percentage of 91.7%. With this research, hopefully, it can contribute as knowledge for the writer and teacher concerned to improve the character of hard work in physics subjects at SMAN 1 Jambi City.

Abstract

A positive attitude towards a subject will lead students to full attention to studying it. On the other hand, a negative attitude will take the students away from the subject which in turn affects the level of student’s ability to understand concepts, especially in chemistry. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there are effects of emotional intelligence and students’ attitude towards students' understanding of chemical concepts, especially in public Senior High School in South Jakarta. This research occupied a quantitative method using survey and multiple regression analysis techniques. Data collection was conducted by distributing questionnaires for emotional intelligence and student attitude, and multiple-choice items test for understanding chemical concepts. The population of this study was Grade X of Public Senior High School in South Jakarta, Academic Year 2018/2019, amounting to 858 students with a sample of 90 students. The results of this study concluded that 1) There is a significant influence of emotional intelligence together with attitudes of students on understanding the chemical concept of public senior high school students in South Jakarta with a contribution of 52.2%. 2) There was a significant effect of emotional intelligence on the understanding of chemical concepts with a contribution of 24.6%, 3) There was  a significant effect of students attitudes on the understanding of chemical concepts with a contribution of 9.69%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to increase students learning motivation using Matlab. The research was carried out on students of the Informatics Engineering study program, Faculty of FTIK, Indraprasta University, PGRI. The population of this study were the 3rd semester Informatics Engineering students in the odd semester of the 2020/2021 school year. The sample taken in the study used purposive sampling technique. The data were collected by calculating the results of the questionnaire on learning motivation using Matlab. Based on the calculation, the score obtained was 80.81%, or it can be said that students who like to study physics with Matlab were 59.8 or rounded up to 60 students out of 74 students, which means 60 students agreed with the use of Matlab software to make students better understand physics material of motion.

Abstract

Development of Education and Training for State Civil Apparatuses requires a simple, easy to use, and certainly systematic stage. One development model that can be used is the Addie model. The purpose of this study is to determine the stages of development of Education and Training for State Civil Apparatuses using the Addie model and to determine the implication of the Addie model in Education and Training for State Civil Apparatus. This research is library research. The Addie model applied in this study was able to identify the development of Education and Training for State Civil Apparatuses in depth. The results of this study also showed that the quality of the training that had taken place so far had been good. Thus, the development of training needs to be continued. But the form of development needs to be studied scientifically so that its development products can be a solution in solving training problems.

Abstract

The Indonesian government implements Large-Scale Social Restriction known as PSBB which impacts the teaching and learning process at various levels of education to be disrupted as a result of school off in anticipation of the spread of COVID-19 in line with the implementation of the Regulation of the Minister of Health (Permenkes) RI Number 9 of 2020, the process of teaching and learning activities in various educational institutions have been temporarily suspended and replaced with online learning as imposed by Pamulang University by implementing E-Learning. The aim of the research is to explain the relevant aspects of the observed phenomenon by describing the effect of student motivation and interest in learning on e-learning methods by Pamulang University,  Bachelor of Accounting Study Program, Academic Year of 2020/2021 through observation activities, as well as questionnaires followed by validity tests and reliability tests. The research was classified as a quantitative research. The data analysis used in this research was descriptive statistics and causality. The result showed that the effect of motivation and learning interest have positive and significant influence on e-learning in Bachelor of Accounting Program in Pamulang University. In other words, E-Learning activities will run optimally if students motivation and interest in learning can be maintained properly.

Abstract

Students often face many problems in learning process; one of the problem is attentiveness of learning. Students’ attention is relatively low when they face difficult subject, such as English. Student attentiveness can be formed by interesting learning media. The more interesting learning media used, the more interested students will be learnt. YouTube is social media that is often used as learning media. The Video tutorials containing various learning topics are widely uploaded on YouTube and the contents are attracted by the public. The English learning video is one of the learning video found on YouTube, which can be accessed by all levels of society, including students. The purpose of this research is to find out and analyze the effect of using YouTube content as teaching media toward students’ attentiveness in learning English in Bachelor Degree of Accounting Program in Pamulang University. Descriptive statistics and causality were the method of the research. Quantitative research in looking at variable relationships to the more researched object is the cause and effect (causal), Therefore, in the research, there are independent variable and dependent variable. The result shows the use of YouTube content as teaching media has a positive and significant influence on learning English in undergraduate student of Bachelor Degree of Accounting Program in Pamulang University.
