Abstract

Electric current is defined as the flow direction of positive charge from the positive pole to the negative pole that is understood in imaginary. Numbers of formulas and facts give complicated and boring impression. Preparation, implementation, and completion of practice require a lot of energy and time, so the use of equipment in the laboratory is also one of the causes for the weak understanding of grade IX / 2 students at SMP Negeri 85 Jakarta. Ms. Power Point, as a presentation medium, also provides various facilities for creating, processing, inputting audio files, video files, and even animation.  This program was developed as a physics teaching tool (Physics Courseware) to increase students' understanding and interest in physics lessons. The difficulty in understanding the material with the existence in learning media was then carried out in an action which was implemented in the odd semester of the 2016/2017 academic year with 2 cycles. Actions in cycle I and cycle II were through the use of Media Physic Courseware and it was seen that there was a change in interest and learning outcomes. The research success indicator was seen from the performance indicator, that was if all the observed aspects had reached 85% or more. After all actions taken, and from the result of observation, assessment, and discussion, it was concluded that the use of physics courseware can increase student interest and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Elementary school math learning activities during the new normal era in Alor District are conducted online, home visits, and shifting. This is a transformation of learning activities that are situational and relatively new in this district. The purpose of this study is to explore the problems encountered from all three mathematical learning activities during the new normal era. This research practiced a qualitative research method with a case study approach. The informants in this study were nine teachers determined by using purposive sampling techniques. The informants came from three schools with different learning activities. Data collection was carried out in January 2021. There were several learning problems found during new normal era, namely the competence of teachers and parents in terms of the use of online learning technology, learning design, learning evaluation, student readiness, and the active role of parents. Based on the findings in this study, alternative solutions were provided to minimize various mathematical learning problems during the new normal era.

Abstract

Morals occupy a very important position in Islam so that every aspect of Islamic teachings is always oriented towards cultivating and building noble morals. This study aims to find out how to improve morals through mind mapping technique in the counseling guidance in SMP N 1 Eromoko. This research used the qualitative method with a case study approach. The techniques of collecting data used by the researcher were observation, interview, and documentation. While the data validity technique used data triangulation and persistence of observation, the data analysis technique used a descriptive qualitative approach. The result of this study explained that improving morals through mind mapping techniques in counseling guidance in SMPN 1 Eromoko, Wonogiri in the Academic Year 2018/2019 was carried out with these following steps: greeting, testing the honesty, explaining the students’ problem, grouping students who had inadequate behavior, explaining the mind mapping, dividing groups, drawing a mind mapping based on students’ inadequate moral, focusing in the center, making branches that connected to the center, filling the branches with actions which taken to improve morals, using the keyword, color, dan picture, line which was easy to remember, then evaluating and observing.

Abstract

This study aims to explore student experiences in carrying out science practicum activities during online learning in covid-19 pandemic. This research is an exploratory research which analyzed in desriptive qualitative. The research population was the students of IAIN Surakarta. The sampling technique was purposive sampling, where the participants involved in this study were 80 students of PGMI IAIN Surakarta who studied science during the covid-19 pandemic in August 2020. Research data was taken through the distribution of online questionnaires using google form platform and interviews with lecturer. The results showed that science practicum activities during the COVID-19 pandemic were carried out through independent practice at home and recorded in video. The results showed 87.3% of students stated that the learning science process during the pandemic was ineffective due to the lack of lecturers' innovation in choosing appropriate learning strategies for practicum activities, 61.9% of students stated that there was a lack of learning resources including the availability of tools and materials, and 36.4% of students stated the lack of references used because they only had journal articles and internet pages. This study also discovered other findings related to the need for practicum learning resources for students, where 50.8% said they needed electronic media, 33.9% needed modules, and 7.6% needed textbooks as learning resources for practicum.

Abstract

The lack of mathematical attitudes of students at SMP Negeri 2 Playen which is marked by not being ready to take part in mathematics learning and not understanding the goals and benefits of studying mathematics causes learning to be ineffective. Through PBL (Problem-Based Learning) learning is expected to provide alternative solutions so that mathematical attitudes develop optimally. Quasi-experimental (quasi-experimental) is a type of research in this study, with a non-equivalent group design pretest-posttest research design. The research instrument used a mathematical attitude questionnaire containing 25 statements with a Likert scale. As for the validity of the mathematical attitude questionnaire instrument, content validity and construct validity were carried out. The average result of the PBL class student's mathematical attitude questionnaire before treatment was 68.38, while the average result of the student's mathematical attitude questionnaire after treatment was 74.31. These results indicate an increase of 5.93. The average value of PBL class students after treatment has reached the KKM, which was a minimum score of 67.2. This was supported by the results of the SPSS one sample t-test analysis which produced a t-value of 7.725 and a significance value of 0.00. A significance value of less than 0.05 indicates that the PBL approach was effective in terms of students' mathematical attitudes.

Abstract

The Indonesian government has made efforts to implement numbers of excellent programs to improve the quality of education. However, the variety of challenges faced by schools effect the lack of optimal competition in the quality of education. The purpose of this article is to analyze and describe the concept of Total Quality Management (TQM) as an effort to improve the quality of education. This article uses a qualitative method with a literature review approach. The TQM concept is one of the concepts that can be applied to improve the quality of education. In applying the TQM concept to education, it is necessary to pay attention to several aspects, namely: (1) focus on graduate users, (2) obsession with quality, (3) scientific approach, (4) teamwork, (5) having a long-term commitment and sustainable, (6) continuous improvement efforts, (7) conducting education and training, (8) common perceptions and goals, (9) having a free and controlled organizational culture, and (10) engaging and empowering human resources. All aspects of TQM must be oriented to the education management system, the behavior of school members, focus on optimal service in order to meet the needs, and desires of the stakeholders.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the tenses used in the film script Kung Fu Panda 3 and its relations between the Curriculum 2013 in tenses learning for junior high school students. The Curriculum 2013 is used as a standard guide to determine the suitability of sentences. This research is descriptive qualitative research using content analysis techniques to analyze the data. Data source Documented film scripts and English Curriculum 2013 for junior high school. The study results are presented in the form of sentences that are analyzed and classified into six types of tenses. The six tenses are in accordance with the Curriculum 2013, namely Simple Present Tense, Simple Past Tense, Present Continuous Tense, Past Continuous Tense, Present Perfect Tense, and Present Future Tense. The study results show a high frequency of relevance to tenses located in film scripts and the Curriculum 2013, with a total of 100%. The results of this study show that the script of the Kung Fu Panda 3 film can be used as a support material for English teachers to teach tenses to junior high school students.

Abstract

The implementation of remote basic physics experiments during a pandemic has its own challenges. This experiment had problems in terms of planning, implementation, and reporting. The purpose of this study are to describe the implementation of synchronous distance learning of fundamental physics experiments using simple tools and to find out students' perceptions regarding the obstacles in the synchronous distance learning implementation of experiments. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The instrument used is a questionnaire distributed using Google Form. The respondents in this study were 69 students who took the fundamental physics experiment course in the odd semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. Analysis of research data was carried out using descriptive analysis methods. The results of this study indicated that the application of Google Meetassisted experiments using simple tools and materials that were easily obtained by students could reduce the problem of completing tools and materials by students and the use of Google Meet allowed the mentoring process during the experiment by the lecturer. The most common obstacles encountered by students were obstacles in the implementation phase where sometimes the internet network did not support it while students needed to listen to the direction of the supporting lecturer, especially if the instructions in the manual were not well understood.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the results of developing Sahabat comics teaching materials for grade 3 students at SDN Tlogo 02 Blitar. This development research uses the ADDIE model. The ADDIE development model consists of five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The data analysis techniques were qualitative data analysis techniques and quantitative data analysis techniques with the aim of knowing how to develop the feasibility of E-Comic teaching materials for students in grade 3 on theme 2 SDN Tlogo 02 Blitar. In the analysis, the researcher conducted an assessment of theory and material, at the design stage the researcher compiled Sahabat comic, at the development and implementation stage the researcher applied the comic results that had been compiled, at the evaluation stage, the researcher reflected on the results that had been obtained after the application of the comic. Sahabat comic teaching materials for grade 3 students of SDN Tlogo 02 get a percentage value of 81.8 valid learning materials according to revision. Validation of teaching materials is 91.6% with proper qualifications without revision, student responsed to Sahabat comics get a percentage of 99.5% indicating that Sahabat comics is very worth it.

Abstract

Education plays a role in the development of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), namely shaping human resources. The focus of human resources here is Vocational High School (SMK) students. Entering the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, the application of IT-based learning is applied to support sustainable development and is expected to be a provision for vocational students in overcoming problems in society and having an impact on their economic, social and environmental life. Many vocational graduates are still unemployed. The causes of unemployment are the lack of opportunities, low critical thinking skills, and not having the courage to take risks at work. Solution to reduce unemployment is by teaching and developing startups within the scope of the school, namely education. Startups are expected to be able to prepare students for the world of work and the world of industry. The provision of startup-based entrepreneurship provisions can be used as provisions in the world of work for the community, especially SMK graduates.. One solution to the government's hope of increasing the number of young entrepreneurs is a startup.
