Title: Identify tropical architecture in the old building at Jalan Siti Khadijah Bengkulu City Tropical architecture tries to deal with the tropical climate problems characterized by heavy rain, blazing sun, high air temperatures, high humidity (for humid tropics), and low wind speeds. The realization of a sustainable tropical city requires building environmentally responsive designs. The efforts could be made, such as selecting materials and models on buildings' external and internal appearance that suit to tropical city. Old buildings used to be built to adapt to the local climate. One of them is the old buildings on Khadijah street, which the existence is almost gone now. This study aims to identify the tropics element in old buildings that have adapted to the tropical climate. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method in case studies through observation and identification of the application of tropical architectural elements in the external appearance (building and roof orientation) and the internal appearance in the building (space, floor, wall, and opening patterns). The aim of this research is to fulfill the arguments for the community about the significance of maintaining the old buildings. This finding is needed to provide a logical reason for the community and government to conserve the old buildings in Bengkulu City.

Title: Narrative Approach in the Design of Integrated Space Connectivity in Taman Kemang As a commercial area the Taman Kemang street has certain activities based on its functions such as parking ,working, selling (street vendors), eating and relaxing, people who just walk to Lippo Mall Kemang and activities from online transportation to deliver and pick up. However, as a commercial area, the Taman Kemang street does not have the balance of the daily activities as the city space. This is because different activities are defined by time from morning to night and weekdays and weekends. This is because the bordering space that are formed are utilized as parking lots and selling places of the street vendors which it should be utilized more as public spaces. Therefore, in this research, the author uses a narrative approach as an analysis process towards the design stage through the stages of the story - narrative - narration as a problem-solving solution. The process of analysis is based on activities on the Taman Kemang street through the motives of community activities that form events in a certain time. So that in the narrative stage a story concept is formed which is how to revive the bordering space of the daily narrative formed on the Taman Kemang street. Then supported by strategies at the stage of narration through 5 narrative landscape strategies and forming quality space, namely the formation of activity identity, space identity and continuity of the results of the integration of bordering space elements.

Title: Study of Hegelian Antithesis in Architecture This paper tries to expose hegelian antithesis existence, that can be used as a way of thinking in architecture design process. With antithesis that lies in philosophy scope, then it needs to be settled with similar thing in architecture. The settlement will be set by using descriptive critique method. The result of the settlement can become a starting point for the usage of Hegelian antithesis in architecture design exploration. In this paper, antithesis proven to be equal with architecture of difference as bildung. Those equality shown in the architecture dialogue. With this equality, antithesis become defined and known its position in architecture.

Title: Design Development of Bike for Kids (7-12 y.o) using Rapid Ethnography and SCAMPER Method Children by nature growth relatively fast. Their body expand in a short time that demand many things that they wear or use to meet their body accordingly. This to include also the need for their bicycle. In order to fulfill the needs of children’s comfort in cycling, some bicycles which are suitable with anthropometry of children’s body are required. With the existence of bicycle’s design which has longer durability than children’s bicycles in general, hence the children’s bicycle which will be designed would have sustainable design concept. Clark et al. (2009) states that sustainable design is a design concept which integrates 3 kinds of elements (people, profit, planet) and not merely an environmental-friendly concept. Developing a product with sustainable concept is not only done with a manipulation on materials which are bio-degradable, but also could be done with extending the lifespan of the product. Respondents which are targeted on this planning are children aged from 7 until 12 with their parents, since the children on this age range experience rapid growth. Not only the interests of the children aged from 7-12 as primer users which are concerned, but also their parents as secondary users. This matter is resulted from how the parents also play a role in choosing and buying the bicycle which will be used by their children.

Title: Communication Efficacy During Distance Learning Process (Online) The Coronavirus pandemic has been forcing us to avoid physical contact in the working field and educational institutions. We have to deal with many ostacles in this new learning and working environment, both technical and non-technical. Unstable internet connectivity and the financial challenge to provide online access for students at home are among the fundamental problems caused by this distance learning process. As a consequence of this study, material delivery and student’s comprehension are at risk. Based on these facts, lecturers and institutions must have proper/ better planning strategies to increase learning outcomes in an academic program as a whole and each course for more aimed results. In an architecture department, studio courses are essential. One strategy example of dealing with today’s situation is a collaboration among 2-3 studio courses on the same level to enhance mutual achievement, creating better synergy between methods. This learning strategy’s objective is to make the learning process delivery more efficient and comprehensible to students.

Title: Service-Learning in Architecture Education: A Critical Moment in A Reflection For over the years, service-learning pedagogy is understood as an appropriate method in experiential education because it focuses on initiatives that has the capacity to change the social well–being of individuals and students' commitment to society's general well–being. Learning entails transformation both individually and from the social work experience through reflection. Geleta and Gilliam (2003) said that reflection is a critical element that connect the service experience in meaningful ways with students' thoughts, sensations, and values. There are four key elements to support practical strategies for meaningful reflection: continuity and connectivity in reflective process on the learning experience and objectives, higher-level thinking, atmosphere of trust and mutual respect, and contextual reflection. This paper explores the implications of contextual reflection about critical moment when an individual experience is shared and become tacit knowledge. The journal reflection from architecture students 5th semester was categorized using content analysis methods to find a personal experience before and after doing a project that can be grasped as tacit knowledge to become explicit knowledge that enhances character development as an architecture student.

Title: Feasibility Identification of the Railway Track Setback in Mejing and Sedayu, Yogyakarta for a Public Space The availability of public space in an urban area/city is very important. Apart from functioning as regional landmarks, open spaces also function as areas for community interaction. This study aims to identify the feasibility of the lost space area along the railroad boundaries in Mejing and Sedayu as a public space. The research method used is to conduct surveys and interviews with people who use these two railway track border spaces. The survey variables used are comfort, relaxation, passive engagement, active engagement and discovery. The results of the study found that the public space on the Mejing railway track border, from the point of view of comfort, received a poor rating with a percentage of 47.62%, while in Sedayu it received almost the same rating, which was not good with a percentage of 43.14%. When viewed from the relaxation indicator, the open space on the border of Mejing and Sedayu rails received a good rating with a percentage of 52.53% and 52.67%. Meanwhile, the level of open space security at the Mejing railway track border stated that the assessment was good with an average percentage of 53.17% and at the Sedayu rail border received a poor rating with a percentage value of 42.17%. The factor of the low feasibility of open space at the railroad border is a lack of facilities, cleanliness, parking management and the comfort of open space users.
