Title: Space Transformation in Pottery Craftsman’s House in Pagerjurang Village, Paseban, Bayat, Klaten The development of the city of Klaten from year to year has experienced rapidly, it affects all the districts in it, one of which is the Bayat district. Besides in Bayat is also a pottery and religious tourism village. Many people from outside the city visit here. This has made changes and developments in the houses in Bayat. Paseban Village is a village of pottery in Bayat and the majority of the population earns income as pottery artisans. Changes to the layout of the house in Paseban certainly have many factors that influence it. The pattern of home development in Paseban was not all the livelihoods of artisans. It is intended that there is a change in the function of space which was previously used as a dwelling only and now is changing into functions for making pottery. The existence of these changes wants to see what factors influence it. This study uses a qualitative deductive approach, where research is based on a theoretical foundation as a tool for field data collection. Researchers used questionnaires and interviews with Paseban villagers to obtain spatial transformation data. The current condition of the pottery craftsmen's house is seen from the physical form of the house is quite modern, but there are still houses that are still traditional. From interviews with the village head of Paseban, almost 90% have changed.

Abstract

Title: A Collaborative Approach to Handling Coastal Spatial Conflicts in Yogyakarta Southern Coast   Yogyakarta's southern coastal ecosystem is facing increasing impacts from fisheries, aquaculture, tourism, energy production, shipping, pollution, climate change and other stressors. This paper discusses the importance of collaborative planning, more than community-based in coastal tourism areas as well as mangrove forest conservation areas, as well as environmental stressors in the form of shrimp ponds. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the understanding of the type of planning approach that is most appropriate, namely collaborative in areas that have spatial conflicts. The method used in this paper is a literature study which describes the theory, findings, and other research materials obtained from reference material to be used as a research basis by compiling a clear framework from the formulation of the problem to be studied. coupled with field observations. The author then provides a review, summary, and dialogue about the theory which is then used to build a relevant theoretical framework. Literature references used are related to collaborative planning and coastal tourism. Based on the discussion that has been done, it can be concluded that to overcome spatial conflicts in the southern coastal tourism area of ??Yogyakarta, this type of planning with a collaborative approach is the most appropriate to be applied wherein the process involves stakeholders with the ultimate goal of a collective agreement for all parties and with a sustainable perspective.

Abstract

Title: Effectiveness of Daylight Mirror Shafts as Natural Daylighting System for Basements under Tropic Sky Conditions   Basements have lots of potential as functional spaces, but have mostly been neglected due to lighting issues. Therefore, this study will explore the daylight mirror shaft system as a daylight strategy for basements, which features the placement of a reflecting surface on a light shaft to redirect daylight. The system was introduced by Heliobus®, a daylighting company from Switzerland. To see the effectiveness of implementing the system in Indonesia, a study was made on its performance on the climate sky condition. Furthermore, a study was made on the effect of different opening orientations and light shaft placements toward the illuminance level achieved. The lighting data was obtained using the simulation softwares Lightstanza. Results show that the performance of the system on climate sky condition can provide sufficient light for 41% of a basement. The use of mirrors on the light shaft could also increase the lighting levels by 2.1 times compared to a shaft without a mirror. Moreover, it was found that different opening orientations and light shaft placements didn’t give a significant effect on the lighting quantity. Overall, the study shows that the system’s implementation on climate skies still require adjustments through further studies to be effective.

Abstract

Title: Exploration on Josef Prijotomo Thinking towards Nusantara Architecture (1999-2020): A History of Thought Studies   The Indonesian historical journey in which showing the traces of architectural discourse is still on its way. One of the strong discourses in forming the foundation of thinking is Nusantara Architecture. Nusantara Architecture, as suggested by Prijotomo, is an architecture in which its perspective, concepts, and theories are developed based on Mother Nature. Prijotomo has been working in the formation of this Thinking and it evolves in time. It is important to understand this journey as well as to understand Nusantara Architecture The study of the exploration of Prijotomo’s thinking about Nusantara Architecture (1999-2020) aims to identify the shift of Prijotomo’s way of thinking from Traditional Architecture to Nusantara Architecture, as well as identifying the impacts or implications of Prijotomo’s thinking in the recent era. The study uses a historical research method using documents and oral sources. The document sources used are the original ones including books and articles written by Prijotomo within 1999-2020, while the oral sources are the direct conversation with Prijotomo. Through the exploration, it can be concluded that using Nusantara Architecture thinking, Prijotomo has attempted to make the base thought of Mother Nature equal to Western Architecture (European and American). This study serves as a starter to place Nusantara Architecture as architectural knowledge that is ‘liyan (the other)’ in relation to Western Architecture (European and American). The thoughts in seeking the base foundations for architects of (in) Indonesia are still ongoing. However, the offer and even the basis initiated and proposed in a series of Prijotomo’s deep thinking struggle are crucial and relevant. Emendation and purification by Prijotomo should be used and sustained by the various Architecture stakeholders in Indonesia.

Abstract

In 2016, Indonesia's tourism sector contributed 4 per cent of the Indonesian Gross Domestic Product (GDP). By 2019, the Indonesian Government wants to increase the tourism contribution to 8 per cent of GDP, requiring 20 million tourist visits. Ten "New Bali" destinations have been developed by President Jokowi, including the Seribu Islands Regency. Seribu Islands, located in Jakarta Capital Region, has various potentials and problems, such as economic disparity, rising seawater levels, declining fisheries production, limited water resources, and environmental pollution. Some Neighborhood Units (Rukun Warga) in the Seribu Islands are slums, including Panggang Island. Therefore, an Integrated Kampung Improvement (Muhammad Husni Thamrin Plus Program) was proposed. This study is prepared to identify potential concepts for spatial rezoning of Panggang Island, integrating sustainable tourism and housing neighbourhood redevelopment. The research problems are how can the community create a healthier and safer home, how can the sustainable 'tourist lodge' model in Panggang Island, and what concept of spatial rezoning of Panggang Island can be proposed. To understand the integration of tourism and residential development, we conducted Case Study Research (CSR) to learn from the Maldives Islands and implemented a qualitative approach of Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis for Panggang Island. Based on the SWOT, we propose a rezoning concept for sustainable Panggang Island, integrating potential tourism zones, new fisher's housing zones, polder infrastructures, utilities, and green zones. Further, in the COVID-19 Era, an additional review on personal tourism was conducted to propose sustainable tourism activities on the Panggang Island while reducing the spread of COVID-19.

Abstract

Title: Visitor's perceptions on the shift condition of cultural heritage buildings in Kotagede as tourist attraction   Kotagede is one of the 5 Cultural Conservation Areas (KCB), with many Cultural Heritage Buildings (BCB) in Yogyakarta. Despite being a KCB, Kotagede is also one of the most popular tourist destinations in Yogyakarta. There are enormous tourist attractions with historical and cultural values, some of which are listed BCB. However, it is very unfortunate that the condition of BCB preservation at KCB Kotagede is considered as the worst among other KCBs in Yogyakarta. Therefore, further research about the condition of BCB is needed to be conducted to find out how good or not - the preservation condition is and how tourism influences it. This study implements the qualitative research methods with data collection through in-depth interviews with the caretaker. The results of this study indicate that the preservation of BCB in tourist attractions in Kotagede is in good condition. One of the efforts to preserve BCB is using it in the tourism sector. In this study, it was found that tourism has a positive impact on the preservation of BCB in Kotagede because it motivates the caretaker to maintain BCB properly to give satisfaction to the visitors. In addition, tourism also gives economic benefits that can be used for BCB further preservation.
