Abstract

The event of mosquito immunity or resistance to malation is one of the main inhibitors of chemical eradication of vectors with insecticides. Vector resistance to insecticides is a global phenomenon, especially for managers of vector-borne control programs in Indonesia. The aims of this study was to map the resistance of Aedes sp mosquitoes to the malation and vector density of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (Aedes sp) in North Sulawesi Province in 2019. This research was descriptive in order to obtain a description of pre-adult vector density and to map the status of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever vector resistance (Aedes sp) against malation. Resistance status data using data from 2015-2018 research. The population in this study are houses in North Minahasa Regency, Minahasa Regency, Tomohon City, Bitung City and Manado City. The sample for vector density is a larva survey of 100 resident houses which includes case houses and houses around DHF cases. North Minahasa Regency (Wautumou Village), Minahasa Regency (Papakelan Village), Tomohon City (Rurukan Village), Bitung City (Girian Permai Village), Manado City (Malalayang Village 2). Determination of the sample based on the highest case in each district in the city during the DHF vector resistance test in 2015-2018. The results showed that the average density of HI vectors (31.%), BI (17.5) and CI (34.8%) with resistance status in the four districts of the mosquito vector city of DHF were resistant and one district (North Minahasa) with a vulnerable status. Resistance and density vectors are digitally mapped.

Abstract

Aedes Aegypty mosquito is a vector of dengue in tropical and subtropical regions. At present the eradication of dengue hemorrhagic fever has been done by eradicating mosquitoes, one of which is biological control. Biological control is carried out on the larvae of Aedes using predation power of various larvae. This is done in order to reduce the negative impact of the use of pesticides from chemicals. This control is intended so that fish larvae can prey on larvae in water reservoirs. This study aims to determine the most effective fish to become Aedes Aegypti larvae predators. This type of research uses an experimental method with Post test only design. This research was conducted with two test methods, namely laboratory tests and field tests in the Tigo Baleh Community Health Center. From the results of laboratory tests, there was a significant difference between the eating power of guppies, carp, tilapia, betta fish, betta fish, lead fish, larvae fish, and beunteur fish. The results showed that the most effective predation power was betta fish with a p value of 0,000. Field test found that there was a significant difference (p.Value = 0,000) between the feeding power of betta fish, lead fish, and larvae fish with the most effective predation level was betta fish. So it is necessary to socialize with the community so that people know and practice it directly.

Abstract

Hydrogen Peroxide is not included in the list of food additives that are allowed in Minister of Health Regulation Number 033 of 2012 concerning Food Additives. Hydrogen peroxide is often used in fishery products such as salted fish to preserve and as a bleach. Hydrogen peroxide can dissolve in water. This study aims to analyze the effect of long immersion on hydrogen peroxide levels in salted fish. This research is a pre-experimental research. The sample in this study amounted to 9 samples with 3 times replication. Independent variable in this research is long immersion (1 hour, 2 hours, and 3 hours). Dependent variable in this research is hydrogen peroxide concentration in salted fish. Data analysis uses paired t test. The results of the analysis showed that the long immersion of 1 hour affected the reduction in H2O2 levels in salted fish with p values of 0.015 (sample stockfish), 0.007 (sample jombrong), 0,000 (sample pethek). Long immersion of 2 hours affects the reduction in H2O2 levels in salted fish with a p value of 0.003 (sample stockfish); 0.007 (sample jombrong); 0.002 (sample pethek). Long immersion of 3 hours affects the reduction in H2O2 levels in salted fish with a p value of 0.001 (sample stockfish); p 0.003 (sample jombrong); p 0,000 (sample pethek). Immersion uses water significantly to reduce levels of hydrogen peroxide, then the community should wash salted fish with clean and flowing water before processing.
