Abstract

Few studies have found that parental phubbing is a vital precursor of adolescents’ problematic smartphone use (smartphone addiction). This meta-analysis uses seven studies selected from multiple electronic databases, namely Scopus, Web of Science, Science Direct, and Google Scholar resulting in a total sample of 6,908 participants, in order to determine how strong the relationship between parental phubbing and smartphone addiction is in adolescents. The literature search was conducted from May 25 to 26 of 2022, limiting it to reputable journals published in English within the last 10 years from 2012 to 2021. The data analysis and the article quality assessment conducted using the Mix Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT) and Jamovi. The results of the meta-analysis indicate a high level of heterogeneity (89.77%), but no publication bias was found. This heterogeneity is caused by, among other things, the small number of studies, the high variations in the characteristics of the respondents, and differences in research methodologies. This study finds that parental phubbing has a medium positive correlation, i.e. r= 0.32, 95% CI = 0.241 – 0.392. Therefore, it can be concluded that parental phubbing is not the only factor that influences smartphone addiction in adolescents. Hence, future researchers can include other variables that might influence the relationship between parental phubbing and smartphone addiction in adolescents.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of mindful parenting and parenting bonding simultaneously or partially in decreasing parenting stress in mothers of children with cerebral palsy in Yogyakarta. This study used a quantitative survey method by utilizing three psychological scales: the Parenting Stress Scale, the Mindful Parenting Scale, and the Parenting Bonding Scale. The study population consisted of women who were members of the cerebral palsy community in Yogyakarta. A total of 38 samples were obtained using a simple random sampling technique. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to test the hypothesis. The findings revealed that (1) mindful parenting and parenting bonding significantly affected parenting stress (F = 9.890; R = 0.601; p < 0.01); (2) there was a significant negative effect of mindful parenting on parenting stress (t = -2.745; partial r = -0.115; p < 0.01); and (3) parental bonding did not significantly affect parenting stress (t = -0.684; r partial = -0.684; p > 0.05). Together, mindful parenting and parenting bonding can help decrease parenting stress by 36.1%, with mindful parenting contributing 30.15% to decreasing stress. These results suggest that mindful parenting and parenting bonding are highly protective factors against parenting stress for mothers raising children with cerebral palsy in Yogyakarta

Abstract

Dating represents a form of human relationship, ideally, based on love. Unfortunately, some dating relationships deviate from this ideal, leading to psychological violence experienced by one of the parties involved.. The purpose of this research is to find out how significant forgiveness contributes to the happiness of individuals who experience psychological violence in dating, by involving 101 respondents who are in the emerging aged stage who experience violence in lawyers. Three scales were involved: the HFS (Heartland Forgiveness Scale), the Oxford Happiness Scale, and The Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). This research used quantitative research methods with mediator analysis techniques using JAMOVI. Based on the results of this analysis technique, it indicates that social support functions as a mediator, contributing to 25.2% of the role of forgiveness in fostering happiness. Abstract

Although smoking is a harmful habit, a considerable number of people smoke, especially young people. Adolescents are encouraged to smoke for many reasons. The objective of this study was to evaluate the relationship between teenage smoking self-efficacy and academic stress prediction. One hundred adolescents who smoked served as the subjects. The smoking behavior scale, the academic stress scale, and the smoking self-efficacy scale were the tools used in this investigation. Multiple regression analysis was used to examine the data. Multiple linear regression analysis results indicated that smoking self-efficacy and academic stress have a significant predictive relationship with smoking behavior. This variable has a coefficient of determination of 28.8%. Stress from school has a lower contribution than smoking self-efficacy. Therefore, increasing smoking self-efficacy through improved emotional regulation skills and assertiveness when declining offers to smoke can help reduce adolescent smoking behavior. In addition, teaching teenagers how to adaptively handle their academic stress will prevent them from turning to smoking or cigarettes as a coping mechanism.

Abstract

Burnout is the result of long-term, poorly managed stress, which eventually leads to physical exhaustion. In corporate environment, burnout is a serious problem that needs special attention because it not only impacts the health and well-being of employees, but also directly affects productivity, performance, and the sustainability of company operations. Employees who apply job crafting by proactively adjusting tasks, work relationships, and perspectives on work to align with their abilities and resources are less likely to experience burnout, because they can create a work environment that is more meaningful and suits their personal needs. A positive and supportive organizational culture plays an important role in reducing employee burnout. Work engagement also found to be able to decrease burn out.  However, the mechanism of their influences on burn out still needs to be understood.  This study aims to analyze the relationship between job crafting, organizational culture and burn out through work engagement as a mediator. The research subjects involved 106 employees from two state-owned companies, namely PT X in Sidoarjo and PT Z in Surabaya, Indonesia. A path analysis conducted using JASP for Windows. The results show that work engagement mediates the relationship between job crafting, organizational culture, and burnout. In conclusion, employees who are active in job crafting and have a positive view of the company culture and values tend to have higher work engagement, which in turn make employees less likely to experience burnout. This study findings provide new understanding on how company can prevent employees burnout.

Abstract

Female civil servants often have to divide their time between job demands and household responsibilities. While managing responsibilities at home, they’re also expected to perform optimally in the workplace, fully contribute to their organizations. This study explored how transformational leadership indirectly influences Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) among female civil servants working in the regional government offices of Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (GO-CJ-DIY), with job satisfaction serving as a mediating variable in that relationship. The study used a total sampling technique with a population of 189 married female civil servants at GO-CJ-DIY who had been employed for more than three months. However, only 134 respondents completed the questionnaire and were therefore included in the final analysis. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results revealed a path coefficient of 0.489, t = 8.252, p < 0.001, 95% CI [0.381, 0]. Abstract

This study aims to examine the mediating role of organizational commitment in the relationship between resilience and turnover intention among Generation Z employees in Indonesia. Previous research have shows resilience directly reduces turnover intention, while others find this effect is mediated by work engagement. This inconsistency highlights the need to explore mediating mechanisms, such as organizational commitment, in the resilience-turnover intention relationship. The study involved 193 Gen Z employees from a multinational corporation, with data collected through established and reliable measures of resilience(α = .962), organizational commitment ( α=.921) and turnover intention (α= .871). Mediation analysis conducted using JASP software revealed that resilience significantly decreased turnover intention through the pathway of continuance commitment (Z = –3.709, p < .001). In contrast, affective and normative commitments did not demonstrate significant mediating effects. Drawing Upon Conservation of Resources (COR) Theory, these findings suggest that Generation Z employees’ retention is primarily driven by concerns over potential losses of valuable resources, such as financial stability and career development opportunities, rather than affective or normative attachments to the organization. This study underscores the critical role of organizational commitment as a mechanism for retaining Gen Z employees and highlight that retention strategies should prioritize on enhancing resource-based incentives and reducing perceived resource loss rather than solely  fostering emotional or normative engagement

Abstract

Generation Z is growing up amid rapid globalization and digital transformation, conditions that shape their psychological well-being and emotion regulation abilities. Nevertheless, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) remain a significant risk factor. This study aims to examine the moderating role of resilience in the relationship between ACEs and emotion regulation among Generation Z in Jakarta. A total of 227 participants were recruited through purposive sampling, using the ACE-IQ, DERS-SF, and CD-RISC as instruments. Data were analyzed with Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results demonstrate that resilience significantly weakens the negative impact of ACEs on emotion regulation. These findings underscore the importance of resilience-based interventions and open further discussion on practical strategies to enhance adaptive capacity and emotional well-being in young adults who have experienced childhood adversity. Keywords: Adverse childhood experiences, emotion regulation, resilience, Generation Z.
