Abstract

Burnout is the result of long-term, poorly managed stress, which eventually leads to physical exhaustion. In corporate environment, burnout is a serious problem that needs special attention because it not only impacts the health and well-being of employees, but also directly affects productivity, performance, and the sustainability of company operations. Employees who apply job crafting by proactively adjusting tasks, work relationships, and perspectives on work to align with their abilities and resources are less likely to experience burnout, because they can create a work environment that is more meaningful and suits their personal needs. A positive and supportive organizational culture plays an important role in reducing employee burnout. Work engagement also found to be able to decrease burn out.  However, the mechanism of their influences on burn out still needs to be understood.  This study aims to analyze the relationship between job crafting, organizational culture and burn out through work engagement as a mediator. The research subjects involved 106 employees from two state-owned companies, namely PT X in Sidoarjo and PT Z in Surabaya, Indonesia. A path analysis conducted using JASP for Windows. The results show that work engagement mediates the relationship between job crafting, organizational culture, and burnout. In conclusion, employees who are active in job crafting and have a positive view of the company culture and values tend to have higher work engagement, which in turn make employees less likely to experience burnout. This study findings provide new understanding on how company can prevent employees burnout.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of reminiscence therapy on reducing loneliness among the elderly. The research involved five participants who scored high to medium on loneliness assessments, specifically in the experimental group. Subjects for this group were chosen using a random assignment technique. The study employed a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The data collection tools used in this study included the UCLA Loneliness Scale (3-item version), observations, and interviews. For data analysis, the Wilcoxon Rank Test was employed to assess differences in loneliness scores in the experimental group before and after receiving reminiscence therapy. The results indicated a significant difference in loneliness scores, with a Z value of -2.060 and a p value of 0.039. This finding suggests that reminiscence therapy effectively reduces loneliness among the elderly. Keywords: Reminiscence therapy, loneliness, ederly.

Abstract

Female civil servants often have to divide their time between job demands and household responsibilities. While managing responsibilities at home, they’re also expected to perform optimally in the workplace, fully contribute to their organizations. This study explored how transformational leadership indirectly influences Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) among female civil servants working in the regional government offices of Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (GO-CJ-DIY), with job satisfaction serving as a mediating variable in that relationship. The study used a total sampling technique with a population of 189 married female civil servants at GO-CJ-DIY who had been employed for more than three months. However, only 134 respondents completed the questionnaire and were therefore included in the final analysis. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results revealed a path coefficient of 0.489, t = 8.252, p < 0.001, 95% CI [0.381, 0]. Abstract

This study aims to examine the mediating role of organizational commitment in the relationship between resilience and turnover intention among Generation Z employees in Indonesia. Previous research have shows resilience directly reduces turnover intention, while others find this effect is mediated by work engagement. This inconsistency highlights the need to explore mediating mechanisms, such as organizational commitment, in the resilience-turnover intention relationship. The study involved 193 Gen Z employees from a multinational corporation, with data collected through established and reliable measures of resilience(α = .962), organizational commitment ( α=.921) and turnover intention (α= .871). Mediation analysis conducted using JASP software revealed that resilience significantly decreased turnover intention through the pathway of continuance commitment (Z = –3.709, p < .001). In contrast, affective and normative commitments did not demonstrate significant mediating effects. Drawing Upon Conservation of Resources (COR) Theory, these findings suggest that Generation Z employees’ retention is primarily driven by concerns over potential losses of valuable resources, such as financial stability and career development opportunities, rather than affective or normative attachments to the organization. This study underscores the critical role of organizational commitment as a mechanism for retaining Gen Z employees and highlight that retention strategies should prioritize on enhancing resource-based incentives and reducing perceived resource loss rather than solely  fostering emotional or normative engagement

Abstract

Generation Z is growing up amid rapid globalization and digital transformation, conditions that shape their psychological well-being and emotion regulation abilities. Nevertheless, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) remain a significant risk factor. This study aims to examine the moderating role of resilience in the relationship between ACEs and emotion regulation among Generation Z in Jakarta. A total of 227 participants were recruited through purposive sampling, using the ACE-IQ, DERS-SF, and CD-RISC as instruments. Data were analyzed with Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results demonstrate that resilience significantly weakens the negative impact of ACEs on emotion regulation. These findings underscore the importance of resilience-based interventions and open further discussion on practical strategies to enhance adaptive capacity and emotional well-being in young adults who have experienced childhood adversity. Keywords: Adverse childhood experiences, emotion regulation, resilience, Generation Z.

Abstract

This phenomenological study explored the meaning of mindfulness in the daily lives of university students. In-depth interviews were conducted with three active students at UIN Salatiga to understand how mindfulness is perceived and experienced in the academic, emotional, and social contexts. Using descriptive-interpretative analysis based on Giorgi’s “whole–part–whole” method, five essential themes were identified: present-moment awareness, emotional self-regulation, self-acceptance, adaptive coping, and reflective growth. The findings reveal that mindfulness is not merely a stress management technique but an existential and developmental process that simultaneously strengthens self-awareness, emotional resilience, and identity development as an integrated outcome. Participants demonstrated the ability to stay grounded in the present moment, consciously regulate their emotions, and make decisions aligned with personal and social values reflecting the dynamic formation of their identity. This study underscores the importance of developing mindfulness-based psychoeducational programs within higher education to holistically support students’ mental well-being, self-understanding, and personal growth, including the process of identity development.

Abstract

The rapid integration of social media into students’ academic, social, and personal lives underscores the need for valid and reliable instruments to assess social media competence. Understanding this competence is crucial, as social media is not only a communication tool but also a source of information, a space for self-expression, and a domain for identity formation. This study aimed to adapt and validate the Social Media Competence Scale for College Students (SMC-CS) into Bahasa Indonesia. The adaptation process followed standardized cross-cultural procedures, including translation, expert review for content validity, conceptual alignment, and pilot testing. A total of 728 university students aged 17–25 years from various Indonesian institutions participated in this study. Data analysis was conducted using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) with the MLM estimator to address multivariate non-normality. The Indonesian version of the SMC-CS demonstrated a four-factor structure—Technical Usability, Content Interpretation, Content Generation, and Affective Regulation—with strong reliability (CR > 0.83) and acceptable convergent validity (AVE ≥ 0.47). These findings provide evidence that the adapted instrument is both valid and reliable for assessing college students’ social media competence in the Indonesian context. Keywords: College students, confirmatory factor analysis, cross-cultural adaptation, social media competence scale.

Abstract

This narrative review explores how Muslim parents of children with disabilities draw on religious coping (RC) to navigate parenting challenges. The literature search covered three major international databases and manual sources, yielding 136 articles published between 2011 and 2025. In the end, 13 articles met the inclusion criteria and were included in the analysis. The quality and narrative suitability of the articles were evaluated using the SANRA (Scale for the Assessment of Narrative Review Articles) protocol. The review identified three main themes: (1) the types of RC strategies used by Muslim parents, (2) the factors influencing their use of RC, and (3) the impact of RC on well-being and parenting practices. Overall, RC plays an essential role in helping Muslim parents adapt, manage stress, cultivate inner peace, and maintain a sense of meaning and hope in their parenting journey. It also supports the development of positive attitudes, strengthens moral responsibility, and enhances overall well-being. This review underscores the importance of integrating religious perspectives into psychosocial support for families of children with disabilities in Muslim communities.

Abstract

The Zaltman Metaphor Elicitation Technique (ZMET) is a qualitative research method employed to elicit individuals' subconscious thoughts, feelings, and experiences by exploring metaphors. This systematic review, encompassing 47 studies published between 2019 and 2023, demonstrates that ZMET is frequently utilised within marketing and tourism, focusing primarily on perception, experience, and meaning. Principal findings indicate that the modifications to Storytelling and Missed Images are the most commonly implemented, whilst combinations with in-depth interviews and grounded theory are prevalent. Thematic analysis identified five principal themes: experience and emotion, meaning and perception, identity and self, values and beliefs, and decision-making. ZMET effectively investigated these themes, particularly within contexts involving complex emotions and experiences. This review concludes that ZMET remains a relevant and adaptable method within qualitative research. Its core strength lies in its capacity to uncover hidden layers of meaning, whilst its weaknesses pertain to analytical complexity and potential subjectivity. Implications and recommendations for best practice, including the necessity for meticulous planning, comprehensive interviewer training, and robust data triangulation, are also discussed concerning the future development and application of ZMET.

Abstract

This study explores how lecturers and undergraduates perceive, experience, and navigate psychological engagement, motivation, and cognitive load online Transactional Collaborative Learning (TCL), highlighting its benefits, challenges, and psychological impact on student learning experiences in higher education. The study used Focus Group Discussion (FGD) as a qualitative research method that facilitates in-depth exploration of participants’ experiences, perceptions, and attitudes regarding a particular phenomenon. The participants in this research were ten lecturers and twenty-four undergraduate students selected purposively. The study focuses on how the online TCL environment affects psychological variables related to teaching and learning.  From the results of the thematic analysis, four final themes were obtained, including 1) learning models and strategies in online TCL; 2) effective learning models in online TCL; 3) factors influencing the success of online TCL; 4) psychological impacts of online TCL. Findings show that flexible content delivery, interactive discussions, and quizzes enhance student engagement, knowledge retention, and digital literacy. However, challenges such as technological limitations and the lack of guidance and support from lecturers hinder the success of online TCL. While this approach fosters motivation, self-confidence, and adaptability, cognitive load remains a concern. Strengthening digital infrastructure and interactive teaching strategies is key to optimizing online TCL. The implication of the study is further discussed.
