Abstract

One of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic is that many micro businesses have gone bankrupt or even closed their businesses. Micro businesses require entrepreneurial readiness to restart and manage their enterprises effectively. This study aimed to analyze the influence of the model of future orientation and self-efficacy on entrepreneurial readiness in micro-enterprises located in Sleman Regency. This research employed a quantitative approach, focusing on micro-enterprises in Sleman Regency that are members of the 'Sobat PLUT' group in 2022. The sample consisted of 85 under 40 micro-entrepreneurs whose businesses experienced losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The study utilized purposive sampling as its sampling technique. Data collection involved three scales: the entrepreneurial readiness scale, the future orientation scale, and the self-efficacy scale. Data analysis was conducted by testing both the outer and inner models. The analysis technique employed the Structural Equation Model (SEM) using the Smart Partial Least Square (Smart-PLS) 3.2.8 program. The results of this study indicate the formation of a model of entrepreneurial readiness, focusing on future orientation and self-efficacy. Future orientation has a significant favorable influence on the entrepreneurial readiness of micro-entrepreneurs and a very significant positive effect of self-efficacy on their entrepreneurial readiness. The theoretical model developed in this research is a fit model that can serve as a reliable model reference for understanding entrepreneurial readiness.

Abstract

Social changes have transformed the role of a mother, leading many to pursue professional paths, often posing challenges in balancing work and personal well-being. The objective of this study was to examine the role of self-esteem in the relationship between work-life balance (WLB) and the happiness of working mom. This research used a quantitative approach. The respondents of this study were 200 working mothers aged 21 to 64 years who lived in the Greater Jakarta area. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The measurement instruments used in this study consisted of the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire, the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES), and the Work-Life Balance Scale. The research hypothesis was tested using Macro PROCESS v4.3 by Hayes. The research revealed that work-life balance significantly impacts the happiness of working mothers and self-esteem acts as a mediator between work-life balance and happiness. These findings indicated that a healthy work-life balance leads to increased satisfaction, acceptance, and self-esteem. High self-esteem individuals feel capable, meaningful, and valuable, leading to a positive affect and a better quality of life, which are the sources of happiness.

Abstract

Student activists are actively engaged in organizational activities both within and beyond their university. While such involvement offers benefits such as enhanced social skills and personal development, it can also have negative consequences, including tardiness or absenteeism in classes, a decline in academic performance, and difficulties in completing assignments on time. One manifestation of these challenges is academic procrastination. This study aims to examine the relationship between organizational involvement and academic procrastination, with emotional exhaustion as a mediating variable among college students. The study sample comprised 80 student activists in Yogyakarta, selected using a purposive sampling method. Using path analysis with bootstrapping (1,000 resamples) in IBM® SPSS® AMOS™ 21, the findings reveal a significant mediating effect of emotional exhaustion on the relationship between organizational involvement and academic procrastination. The results indicate that the duration of organizational involvement is associated with higher levels of academic procrastination, mediated by emotional exhaustion. These findings highlight the need for universities to implement programs that help students balance organizational engagement with academic responsibilities, thereby reducing emotional exhaustion and mitigating procrastination. Abstract

Domestic violence is a national issue that shows an increasing trend in cases from year to year. This study aims to empirically test the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioural Group Therapy in reducing depression in female survivors of domestic violence. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test-post-test control group design model. The number of respondents in this study was 16 participants, divided into eight respondents in the experimental group and eight respondents in the control group. The experimental group (n = 8) received Cognitive Behavioural Group Therapy intervention, while the control group (n = 8) was on the intervention waiting list. The level of depression was measured by the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) before the intervention, after the intervention, and two weeks after the post-intervention follow-up. The results of the analysis with the independent sample t-test showed a significant difference in the mean depression score between the control and experimental groups in the post-test phase (after being given Cognitive Behavioural Group Therapy), with a p-value of 0.000 (p <0.05). In conclusion, this research proves that Cognitive Behavioural Group Therapy is effective in reducing depression in female survivors of domestic violence. Cognitive Behavioural Group Therapy interventions have an impact on depression levels even after the intervention sessions have ended (as evidenced by the measurement of depression scores in the follow-up sessions). Abstract

This literature review examined the psychological well-being of adolescents who experienced parental divorce, along with the factors that influenced it. Using the PRISMA method, 17 articles were analyzed from the database of Scopus, PubMed, Taylor & Francis, and Google Scholar. The review found that the six dimensions of psychological well-being showed varied results. Some studies reported improvements in autonomy and a sense of purpose in life, while others found that adolescents continued to struggle in these areas. In terms of the positive relations with others, relationships with fathers were generally associated with negative outcomes, whereas peer relationships tended to provide positive support. Findings related to environmental mastery and personal growth also varied across studies. In contrast, self-acceptance generally increased over time. Several internal factors were identified as being protective for adolescents’ psychological well-being, including religiosity, adaptive coping strategies, self-control, and resilience. External factors that contributed positively included social support, a secure attachment style, higher levels of education, and better socio-economic status. The interaction between these internal and external factors appeared to enhance adolescents’ adaptability and support their overall psychological well-being. Based on the findings of this review, several practical implications were proposed to support adolescents from divorced families. Recommended interventions included resilience-based training, programs to strengthen social support, school-based mindfulness activities, attachment-based family therapy (ABFT), and the adolescent adaptation pilot program to parental divorce (AAPPD). These interventions play a crucial role in enhancing adolescents' psychological well-being. Keyword: Psychological well-being, adolescents, divorced families

Abstract

The severity of challenges and limitations experienced by children with autism can lead to caregiver stress and various difficulties for their parents. This research aimed to reduce parenting stress by offering support within a psychoeducational group in a Special School including 24 parents of autistic children. In this context, a quasi-experimental design was adopted using a purposive sampling method. The measuring tool used was the parenting stress scale, such as difficult child and parent-child dysfunctional interaction. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using an independent sample t-test. The results showed that there were significant differences in parenting stress between the psychoeducation (F (1.22) = 8.091; t = 2.863; p <0.05) and the control group (F (1.22) = 0.002; t = 0.370; p > 0.05). The psychoeducation group had lower parenting stress in the post-test (n = 10; M = 9, the 5.60; SD = 13.729) as compared to the pre-test condition (n = 10; M = 120.60, SD = 23.959). The implications contributed to parents' ability to minimize parenting stress, enhancing a positive environment to maximize the developmental outcomes for children with autism.

Abstract

Readiness for change in knowledge shown by generation x employees is still moderate tending to low. This causes 59% to feel anxious, to stress in the period of retirement. This condition requires good adaptability in order to survive in their work, besides the cognitive and affective assessment factors of employees also need to be studied to see the dynamics of open attitudes that will be shown. The objective in this study is to see the mediating relationship of adaptability between quality of work life and organizational identification on readiness for change. This study involved 437 generation x employees in Surabaya, Gresik, and Sidoarjo who worked for more than one year with a path analysis design. The results show that adaptability fully mediates the relationship between quality of work life and readiness for change, but not significantly on organizational identification. Meanwhile, partially, the three independent variables have a significant effect on readiness for change. The use of internal factors plays an important role in the readiness of generation x employees but needs to pay attention to other external factors. Further implications for future research are described in the discussion

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the association between parent-child career goal congruence, career optimism, and career engagement among students. This study involved 237 students aged 19 to 21 years (M-age = 19.23; SD = 0.97), with 82.3% female and 17.7% male participants, drawn from a faculty at a university in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The research employed a quantitative design using a survey method. Data was collected using three scales: the parent-child career goal congruence scale (α = 0.87), the career optimism scale (α = 0.81), and the career engagement scale (α = 0.86). Multiple linear regression analysis (SPSS 27.0) revealed that parent child career goal congruence and career optimism were  associated with career engagement (R = 0.39, R2 = 0.16, F = 22.08, p < 0.001). Together, these two factors account for 16% of the variance in career engagement. However, when examined separately, only parent-child career goal congruence was  associated with career engagement (β = 0.21, p < 0.001), while career optimism showed no significant association (β = 0.03, p = 0.38). This finding highlight the value of collaborative, communication-centered approaches, suggesting that parents and career counselors can support students more effectively by engaging in joint career planning, open dialogue, and structured counseling sessions to enhance parent–child career goal congruence. Abstract

University students often face challenges to their resilience due to factors like academic pressure. These stressors can lead to mental health issues like anxiety and depression, highlighting the need for resilience-building strategies. Previous studies in Indonesia and worldwide have demonstrated that social support and emotion-regulation strategies significantly influence academic resilience among university students. However, no study has explored the mediating role within the interrelationships among these variables, particularly the mediating role of multi-aspect emotion regulation constructs, namely cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression. This study aims to evaluate the mediating roles of these two aspects of emotion regulation in the relationship between social support and academic resilience among Indonesian university students. The respondents consisted of 219 students aged between 17 and 33 years (M = 21.219, SD = 2.013). These respondents were recruited using a nonprobability sampling technique. They completed instruments measuring social support, emotion regulation, and academic resilience. The correlational analysis provided initial evidence supporting the relationships among social support, emotion regulation, and academic resilience. Path analysis showed that mediation analysis revealed cognitive reappraisal significantly explained the variance in the relationship between social support and academic resilience through partial mediation. In contrast, expressive suppression did not show a significant mediating role. Overall, the results suggest a relationship between social support and academic resilience, indicating that positive social support enhances cognitive reappraisal and thereby increases students' academic resilience. The implications of this study suggest that social support and emotional regulation are crucial factors in improving the academic resilience of Indonesian students, and these findings can serve as a valuable reference for educators and policymakers.
