Abstract

Cancer has become the leading cause of death in recent years. The incidence of cervical cancer in Indonesia is the second highest after breast cancer. Research on psychological changes is minimal, and there is limited information on the exposure of psychological changes in women with cervical cancer. Objectives to determine the presence of psychological changes in women with cervical cancer based on literature analysis.  The method used was a systematic review with article selection using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines. The article search results obtained 36 articles from 5 databases, namely PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus, Research Gate, and CINAHL. The 36 articles were evaluated using JBI critical appraisal, and ten articles were obtained that met the inclusion criteria; the final seven articles could be further analysed. Results: the results of the literature review found that there are psychological changes in women with cervical cancer. Combining psychological approaches and empowering the patient's potential in dealing with changes is expected to reduce psychological problems in women with cervical cancer. Conclusions: there are psychological changes in women with cervical cancer. Combining a psychological approach and empowering the patient's potential in dealing with change is expected to reduce psychological problems in women with cervical cancer. Therefore, patients with cervical cancer need emotional support and information to survive. Suggestions for further research can be conducted with a more significant number of samples with research that explains the mechanism of action or intervention.

Abstract

The prevalence of emesis gravidarum cases in the world is estimated to reach 85% while in Indonesia it reaches 50-90% (Prawirohardjo, 2010). The high incidence of emesis gravidarum cases results in discomfort and decreased quality of life. This study aims to determine the self-efficacy of pregnant women in overcoming symptoms of nausea and vomiting before and after being given prenatal education interventions. Research design: quasi experiment with one group pre-posttest design. The sample size in this study amounted to 30 respondents (pregnant women) in the first trimester with emesis gravidarum in the Pulmbon  Health Center working area in 2021. The research instrument was a questionnaire to measure the level of self-efficacy. Data analysis using the T test. Research results: the majority of self-efficacy levels before prenatal education were in the low category (86.7%), and after the intervention, the high level dominated (56.7%). Based on the results of statistical tests, it is known that prenatal education intervention has a significant effect on increasing the self-efficacy of pregnant women in overcoming the symptoms of emesis gravidarum (α=0.001 <0.005). Conclusion: Self-efficacy of mothers with emesis gravidarum has increased after being given prenatal education. More sample size needed in future research.

Abstract

Intervensi back massage dilakukan selama 20-30 menit perhari sebanyak 2-3 kali.

Abstract

Introduction: Women who experience menopause will experience a decrease in the hormones estrogen and progesterone that occurs before menopause caused by ovarian atrophy, so it needs to be overcome with pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. One type of non-pharmacological therapy is complementary therapy. Objective: This study aims to identify interventions that can be taken to reduce menopausal signs and symptoms. Methods: CINAHL, PubMed, and Sage Journal databases were used for searching articles with sample inclusion criteria of menopausal women, Randomized Controlled Trials or quasi experimental study design, published in 2017-2022, in English, and full text. The exclusion criteria used were the focus of articles discussing interventions to reduce menopausal signs and symptoms with pharmacological therapy, protocol study articles, and pre-proof articles. Results: The search results for 14 matching articles were found. Interventions that can be done to reduce menopausal signs and symptoms are grouped into 4 approaches, namely psychological approaches (self hypnosis and mindfulness stress reduction programs), physical approaches (foot soaking and physical activity), nutritional approaches (herbal medicine, administration of magnesium, fluid nutrition, administration of isoflavones), and combined approaches (electroacupuncture, combined diet guidance and anti-resistance exercises). Conclusions: From the 14 articles obtained, it can be concluded that there are 4 categories of therapeutic approaches that can be taken to reduce menopausal symptoms. It is recommended that further research focus on interventions that are effective in reducing menopausal symptoms.
