Abstract

ABSTRACTThis article discusses the identification of the use of non-standard words in correspondence at the Probolinggo district land office. This article contains the results of research related to non-standard words. We often find non-standard words in correspondence in the writing, where there are some writings that are still inaccurate or do not match the Indonesian spelling. This article uses a qualitative descriptive method approach with literature study. Data collection was carried out through literature study. Researchers involve the process of observation, interviews and documentation related to the research. The literature study is to look for a theory that is quite relevant, observations are carried out at the Kraksaan Land Office, Probolinggo Regency in order to get more detailed information, while the documentation itself is used as a source of data related to correspondence related to its writing. In accordance with this analysis, a system for writing incoming correspondence will be developed using language that matches the existing spelling. It is hoped that the results of this research will be able to provide a contribution in terms of increasing efficiency in the correspondence process.Keywords: words, literary studies, letters

Abstract

This study aims to determine the cultural representation of hermeneutic studies in the film "Budi Pekerti" by Wregas Bhanuteja. This study began with the author who was offended after watching the film "Budi Pekerti" where the film touched on the culture of social media ethics which in the current era is almost not applied by social media users. This is the reason why the author finally chose this film as the material for analysis. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach with a hermeneutic study from Richard Palmer which uses three aspects, namely To Say, To Explain and To Translate. The subject of this study is the film "Budi Pekerti" by Wregas Bhanuteja. While the object of this study is the representation of culture in the film. The instruments in this study are secondary instruments and primary instruments. The secondary instrument is a separate study while the primary instrument uses a data collection table. The data in this study are in the form of dialogue, narration and also speech in the film. Data sources are obtained from films watched on the Netflix channel. The data collection technique in this study uses the Listen and Note Technique. While the analysis technique uses the Data Collection Technique, Data Reduction, Data Presentation and Conclusion Drawing. The most dominant result of the cultural representation research is the aspect to explain with indicators of strength and power, especially in social media. In this film, many use explanations to communicate and assert their power and authority in various situations. It can be seen that the culture of norms and politeness, especially in the Javanese context, appears in a distinctive way in the Budi Pekerti film. Keywords: cultural representation, hermeneutics, Budi Pekerti film.

Abstract

At the beginning of the 20th century, Javanese society, especially natives, was divided into two distinct social groups, namely nobles or priyayi and Kawula or ‘orang kebanyakan’. These two groups interact in social life in a unique pattern. Both use their respective identities to identify their position in these social relations. This research examines the power relations and identity politics contained in the novel Gadis Pantai by Pramoedya Ananta Toer. By using descriptive qualitative research methods, this research found data that the social relations depicted in the novel Gadis Pantai tend to be unbalanced. This means that there are superior and inferior groups, or there is a master-ruled relationship in this relationship. Priyayi are a superior group, whereas ‘orang kebanyakan’ are an inferior group in terms of social relations. It was also found that priyayi control over ordinary people manifests in several forms: (1) Control in terms of social behavior; (2) Mastering the way of thinking; (3) Mastering the material. Abstract

This research analyzes illocutionary speech acts in the speech of Raditya Dika and Henry Manampiring on YouTube social media, which aims to describe the form of illocutionary speech acts used by Raditya Dika and Henry Manampiring. The research method used is descriptive qualitative using the technique of watching and taking notes on YouTube videos. According to the theory used, namely Searle's theory. The research results show that Raditya Dika and Henry Manampiring use various forms of illocutionary speech acts, including assertive, directive, expressive, commissive and declarative. Assertive speech acts are the most dominant, reflecting the speaker's beliefs conveyed descriptively and informatively. This research provides in-depth insight into how to communicate and interact via social media platforms and can be a reference for further pragmatic research, especially regarding illocutionary speech acts.  Keywords: speech act; illocutionary; YouTube; pragmatics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of social media on the variation of Indonesian language use among teenagers. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive approach, the research explores how social media influences the use of slang, abbreviations, and the mixing of Indonesian with foreign languages. Data were collected through surveys and group discussions with teenagers aged 15 to 20. The findings indicate that social media plays a role in enriching teenagers' vocabulary, introducing new terms, and facilitating identity expression through slang. However, on the other hand, social media also brings negative effects, such as a decline in formal language skills and a tendency to use non-standard grammar. This study provides important insights into the challenges of maintaining the quality of the Indonesian language in the digital era and highlights the need for awareness of the importance of formal language use in specific contexts, such as education.

Abstract

Education aims to create a learning environment that allows students to develop their potential actively and effectively. In this context, the use of technology in learning becomes increasingly important to face the challenges of digital-based education. The Quizizz application, which is a quiz game-based educational platform, offers innovative solutions to improve learning outcomes through an interactive multimedia approach. This research examines the use of Quizizz in learning biographical text material in class X5 of SMA Negeri 11 Semarang. Quizizz's qualitative descriptive method in increasing student involvement and understanding. The research results show that Quizizz not only provides an interesting and interactive learning experience, but also provides instant feedback and analytical data to evaluate student progress. With these features, Quizizz can motivate students, make assignments and homework easier, and encourage creativity in teaching. This research underlines that Quizizz media can be an effective tool for improving learning outcomes and making the learning experience more enjoyable

Abstract

This study tries to represent the meaning of a poem entitled "Anyelir" in the poetry anthology entitled "Jalang" by Putri Meyda using Roland Barthes' semiotic reading code surgery theory. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative, which is one type of research that displays data in the form of descriptive phenomena without using statistics/numbers. The data collection method in this study is the content analysis/content analysis method using the reading and note-taking technique, while the data analysis method of this study is the matching method. The results of this study are that the poem entitled "Anyelir" is an expression of the feelings of the lyricist about someone's emotional experience, the poem describes inner destruction, emotional conflict, betrayal, and fatigue, and mental chaos.keyword: Anyelir, reading code, meaning

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how the use of Bahasa Indonesia influences business communication in the work environment, with a particular focus on Generation Z. In the context of rapid globalization, the ability to communicate effectively is key to success in the business world. Generation Z, as digital natives, exhibit unique communication characteristics and often use informal language that can potentially hinder professionalism in the workplace. Using a case study of a Generation Z employee at a fund management company in London, this research proves that the use of casual language can damage an individual's credibility and is not in line with company expectations. The results show that proper use of Bahasa Indonesia can improve the quality of interactions, strengthen relationships between teams, and increase work productivity. Therefore, organizations need to understand and accommodate the communication characteristics of Generation Z in order to create an inclusive and productive work environment.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of introverted personality traits on student participation in Indonesian language learning at the higher education level. Introverted students often prefer self-reflection and observation over active participation in class discussions, potentially affecting their comprehension, particularly in a subject that also serves to convey national and cultural identity. Data were collected through interviews and observations of  Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Balikpapan students. The findings reveal that introverted characteristics, such as selective engagement and a tendency for isolation, influence their interactions and classroom involvement. To foster inclusive participation, project-based and inclusive teaching methods are recommended, emphasizing the need to accommodate diverse learning styles.

Abstract

AbstractThe aim of the research was to determine the effect of using serial image media on the ability to write procedural texts for class VII students at SMP Negeri 30 Muaro Jambi. This research was carried out from January 16 2024 to January 29 2024. The sampling technique used random sampling technique. Data collection techniques use tests, documentation and observation. In this research the tests carried out were pre-test and post-test. The data analysis technique in this research is very important to determine learning outcomes in the learning process using series image media. Before analyzing data, things that need to be considered are testing the prerequisites for data analysis and hypothesis testing. The research results show that the use of serial image media in procedural text writing skills has a significant influence in improving students' abilities in writing procedural texts.Keywords: Series Images, Writing Procedure Text
