Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is pain that occurs during menstruation and is often experienced by adolescents. Reduced pain can interfere with the daily activities of teenagers. Based on an initial survey conducted by researchers at SMK AL-Washliyah 9 Perbaungan on 6 students, the researchers conducted interviews with students who were experiencing dysmenorrhea, often asking permission to go to the UKS room and even going home because of the pain caused by dysmenorrhea which greatly interfered with the learning process and activities other. To overcome this, one of the non-pharmacological alternatives is Abdominal Stretching exercises that can provide a relaxing effect, so that it can be used to treat pain during menstruation. The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not there was a decrease in pain intensity in adolescent girls before performing Abdominal Stretching exercises and after Abdominal Stretching exercises. This type of research is pre-experimental in one group (one group pre-test and post-test). The sample of this study was taken by purposive sampling technique, namely sampling based on specified criteria. The sample in this study amounted to 22 people. This research was conducted in June 2022. Data analysis used the Saphiro Wilk test. The research instrument used was a pain observation sheet, namely the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). The results showed that the average pain scale before treatment was 2.59 then reduced to 1.50 after the Abdominal Stretching exercise was performed. The calculated Z value is 4.233 and the p-value is 0.000, thus p-value<? (0.000<0.05). This shows that there is a significant difference in the dysmenorrhea pain scale of adolescent girls before and after the Abdominal Stretching exercise.

Abstract

Normal delivery is the process of fetal discharge and ari-ari in mothers with full-term pregnancy at the time of delivery, the mother needs special support in determining the position of labor because she has not had previous experience, especially in primigravida mothers. The choice of labor position is very important for the mother because the position can provide comfort and can facilitate the progress of labor. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of both variables, namely the position of labor and the length of labor. Observational analytical research method with post test approach with design two experiments, a sample of 26 people consisting of 2 groups, 13 people in squatting and standing position groups and 13 people sitting middle position and left tilt with accidental sampling techniques, research in RB Cahaya 2 Lubuk Pakam, data collection using partograph sheets, data results tested with Simple t test. The results showed that there was an influence of Maternity Position on the length of labor time during the active phase of Primigravida with a p-value 0,00. It is recommended to all mothers who give birth to be able to choose the right position so that labor can take place smoothly and it is also recommended to husbands and health workers to support the positions of mothers who will give birth.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition where toddlers have less length and height compared to their peers. Stunting is one of the focuses of the 2nd Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely eliminating hunger and all forms of malnutrition by 2030 and achieving food security. The World Health Organization (WHO) sets a maximum limit of 20% or one fifth of the total number of toddlers. This study aims to determine the role of local culture in the incidence of stunting in Sekip Village, Lubuk Pakam District. This type of quantitative research, is an analytic survey with a cross sectional design. The sample size is 62 mothers who have toddlers with a purposive sampling technique, using a questionnaire sheet. Based on the results of the Chi Square test it was found that local culture played a role in stunting with a value of p = 0.017 <? (0.05). The conclusion of this study is that culture has a role in the incidence of stunting. Suggestions for cross-sectoral collaboration involving community leaders in the context of providing education about stunting

Abstract

Signs and symptoms that can be seen in stroke patients are difficulty chewing and swallowing food, coughing, and food often getting stuck in the throat. This event is often called dysphagia. Stroke patients who experience dysphagia amount to 37% to 78%. The effects of dysphagia cause several disease complications that aggravate the patient's condition such as: malnutrition, dehydration, pneumonia, and death. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of swallowing exercises on the swallowing ability of stroke patients with dysphagia at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital in 2023. The research method uses a quasi-experimental (one group pretest-posttest design) with 20 respondents. Consecutive sampling is a technique used in sampling. The intervention given to each respondent was in the form of swallowing exercises for 10 sessions. Initial screening for dysphagia was carried out using an observation sheet from the nursing bedside swallowing screening, while the Mann Assessment of Swallowing Ability (MASA) instrument was used to assess the level of ability to swallow. The results of this study indicated that the average mean swallowing ability increased after being given the intervention and found differences in swallowing ability before and after the intervention was given with a value of p = 0.000. The conclusion is that the ability to swallow in stroke patients with dysphagia can be overcome by doing swallowing exercises regularly. It is expected that health workers (nurses) are active in teaching or directing patients who experience dysphagia so that complications do not occur in stroke patients.

Abstract

Unhealthy behavior can lead to more serious problems such as the spread of infectious diseases. PHBS in schools includes actions taken by students, teachers, and the community around the school based on awareness of learning outcomes. This study aimed to determine the difference in knowledge before and after being given counseling about PHBS for students at SDN 211/IV Jambi City. This quantitative study uses a true experimental pre-test and post-test control group design approach. The sample in this study was 60 respondents. The data in this study were analyzed using statistical tests, namely the Paired t-test and the Independent t-test. The results showed that the value of students' knowledge about PHBS before being given counseling was an average of 11.94 and the value of students' knowledge about PHBS after being given counseling was an average of 14.58. The results of the t-test showed that there was a difference in the average score between the pre-test and post-test of 2.64 and the value of p = 0.000 (p-value <0.05), meaning that there was a difference in students' knowledge before and after giving health counseling about PHBS in SDN 211/IV Jambi City. This study suggests that schools are encouraged to pay attention to students in terms of Clean and Healthy Behavior (PHBS) by including PHBS points in the material given to students.

Abstract

Background: Basic techniques, physical endurance, and teamwork in basketball are components needed to improve individual quality to be able to play with good performance. Basic techniques and movements often occur quickly and suddenly, including cutting and drop landing. Both of these movements are prone to knee injury. The majority of lower extremity injuries in basketball players are anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) strains. Observation of the knee valgus angle is required to assess the risk of knee injury. One of the risks has the potential to cause a knee injury is the dominant and non-dominant knee. This is because the leg have an important role in controlling posture and stability. Purpose: this study was to determine the differences in the risk factors for the dominant and non-dominant leg in cutting and drop landing. Methods: The research was analytic observational, a cross-sectional study design. The population in this study were high school basketball players in Malang City with a total sample of 22 people the inclusion and exclusion criteria (n=22). Data collection was carried outthe Waterloo Footedness Questionnaire-Revised (WFQ-R) and Frontal Plane Projection Angle (FPPA) as measuring tools using the kinovea software. Results: Based on the analysis Wilcoxon test forcutting and drop landing movements, a value of 0.036 (p <0.05) was obtained for the non-dominant leg, which means that there is a significant difference between the two movements. Conclusion: It canbe concluded that there are differences  movements of cutting and drop landing on the non-dominant leg compared to the dominant leg.

Abstract

Some employees at Ngimbang Hospital work activities are carried out in a sitting position for a long duration and almost done every day, especially for office administration employees. This will pose a risk of musculoskeletal disorders, especially hamstring muscle flexibility. A decrease in muscle flexibility will affect body fitness which can affect the work productivity of these employees. This study aims to determine the relationship between sitting duration and hamstring muscle flexibility. This study used a Cross Sectional Study research design involving 32 employee samples. Sitting duration is the independent variable while the dependent variable is hamstring muscle flexibility. The results of the normality test using the Shapiro-wilk test showed that the sitting duration variable was worth 0.000 and the hamstring muscle flexibility variable was worth 0.799, meaning that there was one variable that was not normally distributed, while the correlation test using Spearman obtained a value of 0.000 (<0.05). It is concluded that there is a relationship between sitting duration and hamstring muscle flexibility in employees at Ngimbang Hospital. The longer the duration of sitting, the more hamstring muscle flexibility decreases.

Abstract

The muscles that are often disturbed are the muscles of the neck, arms, hands, fingers, back, waist and lower muscles. Working for a long time in a fixed position, especially sitting, will cause discomfort. This working attitude creates a static workload on the lower back muscles and causes lower back pain in workers. Respondents involved in this study amounted to 49 respondents. All respondents have the dominant activity at work, namely sitting. When viewed from the character of the respondents, as much as 77.55% of respondents had experienced muscle complaints. The most frequent muscle complaints were in the area of ??the waist (53.06%), buttocks (44.90%) and neck and shoulders (42.86%). The longer a person sits there will be stretching of the back muscles and the posterior longitudinal ligament which have the thinnest properties so that this prone area is disturbed causing pain. Suggestions for employees who sit for a long time, namely doing short sports on the sidelines of work and modifying the work environment so that the sitting position becomes ergonomic
