Abstract

Mechanical ventilation is used to save the condition of critical patients in the intensive care unit, but prolonged use causes an increased risk of infection and various complications. The usual potential complication is infection. The most common infection resulting from mechanical ventilation is Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP). VAP is a major cause of mortality, morbidity, and extends the duration of use of mechanical ventilation and prolongs hospitalization, thereby increasing treatment costs. The aim of this research is to see the effect of oral hygiene measures on preventing ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) in the intensive care unit at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital in 2023. This type of research is quantitative research using a quasi-experimental research design with pretest-posttest. The research sample was 35 respondents. The research results showed that there was an influence of oral hygiene on the prevention of ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) in the intensive care unit at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital in 2023 with a P value of 0.00 where the value of ? = 0.05 from these results if compared to the value of P < ? then Ha accepted. It is hoped that the hospital will be able to increase the comfort of patients with decreased consciousness who are on ventilators.

Abstract

Stroke is a functional disorder of the brain that can occur suddenly or abruptly with focal or global neurological signs that can last 24 hours or more (if no surgery or death occurs) without any signs of non-vascular causes, which include signs of subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral hemorrhage, ischemia or cerebral infarction. This can cause disturbances in vital brain functions such as coordination disorders, balance disorders, posture control disorders, sensation disorders and movement reflex disorders, thereby reducing the ability to carry out daily living activities and balance disorders. The motor relearning program method is a program for retraining specific motor controls by avoiding unnecessary or wrong movements that involve cognitive processes, the application of motor and psychological science, training, understanding of nervous anatomy and physiology and is not based on the theory of normal development (neuro development). The research aims to determine the effect of the motor relearning program on daily living activities and dynamic balance disorders in post-stroke patients. The method used in this research is a quasi experiment with one group pretest and post test design. The research sample consisted of 9 people. The samples will be observed and adjusted to the specified criteria so that they do not cause problems. Each respondent was measured 2 (two) times, namely before and after the intervention. Test the hypothesis using the Wilcoxon test. The research results obtained a value of p = 0.000 (p=<0.05), which means there is a significant influence of the motor relearning program intervention on daily living activities and dynamic balance disorders in post-stroke patients. The results of this research can be concluded that the motorbike relearning program can improve daily living activities and dynamic balance disorders in patients after non-hemorrhagic stroke. It is hoped that the results of this research can contribute to health services for the community in overcoming the problems of daily living activities and dynamic balance disorders in post-stroke patients.

Abstract

Postpartum fatigue is a feeling of tiredness experienced by around 65-80% of mothers after giving birth. Fatigue can trigger post partum depression during the postpartum period. In Indonesia, the incidence of post partum blues is 50% -70%. One of the method is meridian accupoints massage intervention to reduce fatigue and prevent post partum depression. This study aims to analyze the effects of meridian accupoint massage on fatigue and prevention post partum depression in the post partum period. A quasi experimental design with pretest posttest nonequivalent control group was utilized. The study group consisted of 28 postpartum women on the 5th day at the Nining Lubuk Pakam Clinic. The instrument used to measure fatigue is th. e Postpartum Fatique Scale, prevention of post partum depression is measured by the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS). Data analysis uses independent and dependent t-tests. The experimental group demonstrated a significantly larger decrease compared with the control groupin measures of fatique and prevention post partum depressive. There was a significant difference in maternal fatigue and prevention of post partum depression after meridian accupoint massage between the intervention group and the control group with a value of p=0.003; p=0.002. The average reduction in fatigue after meridian accupoint massage was 27.11%, while the reduction in stress as an assessment for preventing post partum depression was 43.41%. Meridian Accupoint Massage has been proven to have an influence on reducing fatigue and preventing post partum depression during the postpartum period. For midwives to be able to learn and apply this method to normal postpartum mothers in order to improve the quality of life of postpartum mothers. Meridian accupoint massage intervention can be used as learning material in complementary therapy during the postpartum period.

Abstract

Chronic kidney failure is an irreversible disease, where if you have experienced this disease you cannot return to normal as before. One way that can be done to maintain the condition and function of the kidneys so that the damage does not get worse is by carrying out dialysis therapy throughout the patient's life (usually done 1 to 3 times a week) or until a new kidney donor is obtained by undergoing transplantation surgery. kidney. Situations like this interfere with the patient's quality of life and psychological disorders such as anxiety. With the emergence of feelings of anxiety and decreased quality of life, the condition of the disease experienced will worsen. One effort that can be made to manage feelings of anxiety and maintain quality of life is by exercising self-efficacy. The aim of this research activity is to see whether there is a relationship between self-efficacy and quality of life and anxiety in patients suffering from chronic kidney failure who are being treated at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital. This research is a descriptive analytical study using a cross sectional approach. There were 80 patients who were samples from the 100 patients who were the population in this study. The statistical test used in this research is the chi-square test, which shows that the p value is for quality of life (p= 0.000), and the p value is for anxiety (p= 0.003). Through these results, it can be proven that there is a significant relationship between self-efficacy and quality of life and anxiety in patients with chronic kidney failure who are undergoing hemodialysis therapy at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital.

Abstract

This study aims to description of overhead chop exercises and double leg balance exercises in improving postural control to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Method: This research is a qualitative descriptive research with a case study approach, type of action research. The samples were child patients who underwent therapy at the YCHI Autism Center clinic, South Tangerang. Overhead chop training provides an illustration of improving postural control in the sample. The sample is directed to receive proprioceptive stimulation which is then carried to the brain so that it can maintain an upright position and not fall. The double leg balance exercise also provides an illustration of improving postovertural control. The sample provides instructions for performing lift and chop movements. This movement forms a diagonal movement pattern which can help to rotate the trunk diagonally and stretch the thorax and pelvis. Overhead chop exercises and double leg balance exercises can provide overview of postural control in children with ASD.
