Abstract

Normal post partum is post partum discomfort due to uterine involution. Uterine involution in patients can cause pain in the uterus called afterpains. Discomfort caused by uterine involution requires various treatments to minimize the pain felt by the mother so that the mother's comfort can return. This can be overcome with non-pharmacological pain management strategies through innovative near infrared phototherapy or near infrared photobiomodulation (PBM NIR). The aim of this research is to analyze the results of implementing pain management with non-pharmacological PBM NIR therapy in normal post-partum mothers with post-partum discomfort nursing problems. Case study that focuses on the implementation of non-pharmacological nursing pain management techniques with PBM NIR therapy. The case study subjects were 3 normal post-partum maternal patients with the same problem, namely post-partum discomfort in the obstetrics room at the Muhammadiyah Hospital in Palembang. The results of the study showed that the implementation of non-pharmacological pain management techniques with PBM NIR therapy had an effective effect on dealing with post-partum discomfort with complaints of decreased discomfort, decreased moaning, and strong uterine contractions. Implementation of pain management can improve the comfort status of normal postpartum mothers. This study makes an important contribution to understanding of the role of nonpharmacological techniques in postpartum pain management, as well as highlighting the importance of implementing innovative therapies for labor, as well as highlighting the importance of implementing innovative therapies to improve the quality of care in postpartum mothers.

Abstract

Preserving culture can be done by participating in being part of a dancer. In dancing activities, especially Javanese dance, has 3 main elements, namely wiraga (harmony of motion), wirama (harmony of rhythm), and wirasa (harmony of taste). Dancers need power and energy for the movements they make, in order to achieve the main element of wiraga. Dancing with the movement of the human body allows that dance activities are related to muscles so that it will allow the occurrence of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in dancers including one of which is Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS). The muscle that is most susceptible to DOMS is the Gastrocnemius muscle. DOMS can be reduced one way is to use the static stretching exercise intervention method. This study aims to determine the effect of static stretching exercise in reducing Delay Onset Muscle Sorenes of the gastrocnemius muscle in dancers at UKM Sangsekarta. This study aims to determine the effect of static stretching exercise in reducing Delay Onset Muscle Sorenes of the gastrocnemius muscle in dancers at UKM Sangsekarta. This research was conducted with a quantitative approach, and applied a pre-experimental design one group pretest-postest and 27 respondents were found. Static stretching body exercise is an independent variable. As for the dependent variable, namely Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness of the gastrocnemius muscle. The results of this study obtained pretest and postest values of 0.006 (p>0.05) and 0.006 (p>0.05). It can be concluded from the results of the normality test that it shows abnormal distribution, while the hypothesis test using the Wilcoxon test obtained a p value of <0.000 less than 0.05. It can be concluded that there is an effect of static stretching exercise on reducing gastrocnemius muscle DOMS in dancers at UKM Sangsekarta.

Abstract

Until now, dysmenorrhea is still a frightening threat for women, especially young women, when they are approaching menstruation. Pain that occurs during menstruation is a result of excessive uterine contractions caused by the hormone prostaglandin. One non-pharmacological method used to reduce the intensity of pain is by using lavender aromatherapy. Aromatherapy can be given through inhalation or direct application to the skin through massage using inner oil. Aromatherapy is believed to be useful in treating respiratory problems, pain, and mental and emotional problems. The main aim of the research was to see how pain intensity decreased in teenagers before and after being given lavender aromatherapy. This quasi-experimental research used a one group pre-post and post-test approach with samples taken based on purposive sampling according to the specified criteria of 33 people. The results of the Shapiro Wilk test showed that the average pain scale before treatment was 6.52. Then the average pain scale dropped to 4.30 after being given lavender aromatherapy. The calculated Z value is 5.150 and the p-value is 0.000, thus providing significant results that there is an effect of giving lavender aromatherapy on the intensity of menstrual pain in young women at SMA Negeri 1 Perbaungan. In the future, it is hoped that lavender aromatherapy can continue to develop its properties and benefits for teenagers who have problems with pain during menstruation or related health problems.

Abstract

Hamstring injury is one of most often injury in futsal. Hamstring muscle flexibility is the ability of the muscles in the lower extremities to stretch optimally. Weakness in the hamstring muscles can cause shortening and impaired flexibility which occurs in every human being, so exercises are needed that stretch the shortened muscle tissue and restore flexibility to the hamstring muscles. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of providing dynamic stretching and nordic hamstring and to increase hamstring muscle flexibility in FIA UB futsal club players. The research method used is a type of quasi-experimental research with a two group pre and post test method. The research was conducted at FIA UB on 24 FIA UB fusal players using purposive sampling technique. The sit and reach test was employed as the measurement tool in this study. The analysis used univariate and bivariate using the independent t-test comparison test. The research results show that there is a p value (0.000). The statistical test results show that the results are less than 0.05, indicating that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. In conclusion, it can be stated that there is a comparison between before and after being given nordic hamstring intervention training which is more effective than dynamic stretching for increasing hamstring muscle flexibility in FIA UB futsal players.

Abstract

Changes in the background needs and welfare of human life have led to a shift in modern lifestyle patterns. The growing population has resulted in increased work productivity, along with various types of work activities and a rise in complaints of symptoms like low back pain. Low back pain, or lower back pain, is a complaint where the pain can be local pain (inflammation) or radicular pain in the lower back. This pain can radiate to other areas, or the pain can be felt in the lower back, or it can be felt on a different side of the body from the center of the pain and can be felt in a variety of ways. Occupation is one of the factors causing LBP. Incorrect work postures, for example, sitting static for a long time and not using ergonomic sitting positions, are one of the factors in the occurrence of LBP (WHO, 2013). The purpose of this research is to find out if there is a comparison of the differences in the effect of motor control exercise and William flexion exercise on pain in myogenic low back pain patients at the Ambalat Sesko TNI Bandung clinic in 2023. The design in this study was a quasi-experiment with a control approach of two groups, pre-test and post-test, used to compare two independent groups, namely group I (motor control exercise) and group II (William flexion exercise). The research location was at the Ambalat clinic, Sesko TNI, with a total sample of 20 people. The research data was carried out using the normality test with the Shapiro-Wilk test. After the data was normally distributed, a hypothesis test was carried out using the independent paired sample t-test to obtain a p-value of 0.901 > (? = 0.05). The results of the analysis showed that the intervention of motor control exercise and William flexion exercise had the same effect on reducing pain, and there was no significant difference between giving myogenic low back pain at the Ambalat Sesko TNI Bandung clinic in 2023.

Abstract

Indonesia cannot be separated from its diversity of arts and culture, including traditional dance. Dance is a work of art to express oneself through movements carried out by the body, therefore muscle flexibility is required in carrying out each movement in a dance. Flexibility, also known as flexibility, can affect the quality of movement in dancers. The hamstring muscles are one of the muscles that contribute to controlling body movements, whether practicing posture, running, jumping, or performing various kinds of dance movements. So training is needed to improve and maintain the flexibility of the hamstring muscles in dancers, one of which is by doing static stretching. Static stretching is often done by dancers, with the aim of training the dancer's physical endurance, muscle and bone strength, as well as helping to train breathing. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of providing static stretching body exercises in increasing hamstring muscle flexibility in dancers. This research design uses a pre-experimental design with a one group pre-test and post-test design. The sample for this research were dancers at UKM Sangsekarta, Muhammadiyah University of Malang. The sampling technique in this research used purposive sampling with a sample size of 27 people. The data measurement tool uses the Sit and Reach test. Data analysis tests were carried out using normality tests and hypothesis tests using SPSS. With the results of the pretest normality test being 0.074 (>0.05) and posttest 0.017 (<0.05) with the statement that the data is not normally distributed and the hypothesis test with a value of 0.00 (<0.05) with the statement that there is an influence. The conclusion in this study is that there is an effect of providing static stretching body exercise in increasing the flexibility of the hamstring muscles in dancers at UKM Sangsekarta.

Abstract

Childbirth is a mother's subjective experience that is very memorable in her life. It is important to maintain maternal comfort so that the process of adapting to motherhood can run well. Pain during postpartum is one of the factors that prevents mothers from having difficulty adapting during the postpartum period, especially in primapara mothers. A pharmacological method that can be given to increase comfort and reduce the intensity of pain is foot massage. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of foot massage on the comfort and intensity of maternal pain after vaginal delivery during the postpartum period. This type of quasi-experimental research sample consisted of 38 respondents and the sampling technique used simple random sampling. This research was conducted at the Independent Early Midwife Practice in Lubuk Pakam. Respondents consisted of 2 groups, namely the intervention group and the control group. The instruments used were questionnaires, Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Post Partum Comfort Scale (PCS). Data analysis used chi-square/Fisher's exact test, independent-samples t test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The mean maternal comfort score in the intervention group was higher than the control group (143.45 ± 8.96, 119.00 ± 14.65, respectively) with a value of p = 0.000. The mean pain score in the intervention group was lower than the control group (1.36 ± 1.22, 4.95 ± 2.27) and the p value = 0.000. Foot massage is effective in increasing comfort and reducing the intensity of pain after vaginal delivery. The increase in maternal comfort after intervention was 18.34% and the reduction in pain intensity after vaginal delivery was 73%. In this way, midwives can apply foot massage to every mother after vaginal delivery.

Abstract

Fires often come without warning, presenting unexpected risks for firefighters who must remain alert while on duty. This profession is classified as a job that is full of high risks, and the level of risk faced is closely related to the implementation of an occupational health and safety (K3) management system. This research uses a quantitative analytical survey approach with a cross-sectional design to explore the relationship between the implementation of an K3 management system and the risk of accidents among firefighters. In this study, 36 officers were selected as samples using the random sampling method. Primary data was obtained through questionnaires filled out by respondents and assessment sheets prepared by researchers. Data analysis used the chi-square test with a confidence level of 95% (? = 0.05). Rejection of the null hypothesis (Ho) occurs if the p value <0.05, which concludes that there is a significant relationship. Research findings show that as many as 30 field officers (83.3%) are within the scope of the K3 management system which is categorized as poor. There is a significant relationship between the implementation of the K3 management system and the risk of accidents (p=0.000). In order to minimize the risk of work accidents, increasing awareness and discipline of officers in using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is very important. It is hoped that the findings from this research can become a basis for related parties to make system improvements and increase the safety of firefighters in the future. Efforts to increase awareness of the importance of K3 and the use of PPE are expected to reduce the risk of accidents and better protect officers as they carry out their duties to protect the public from the dangers of fire.

Abstract

Students generally do not exercise, in fact they tend to choose habits with very poor sleep and rest patterns and consume food labeled fast food. The student's lifestyle has an indirect impact on fitness levels and nutritional status as measured by body mass index. One variable that influences cardiovascular fitness levels is body mass index (BMI). An increase in fat tissue in the body will occur if a person's BMI value is high and is classified as overweight or even obese. In this research, the quantitative research method uses correlational analysis. The population in the study was Dustira Hospital STIKes female students, totaling 51 people. Data were collected by measuring height, weight, and carrying out the Cooper test to measure VO2max levels. The results of the research show that the significance value of the Spearman Rho Correlation with the value (p) of the two variables is 0.001, which means that the two variables have a significant relationship, namely between Body Mass Index (BMI) and VO2Max level (p<0.05). Based on the correlation test, the correlation coefficient (r) was obtained at -0.550, which means that the two variables have a strong relationship between Body Mass Index (BMI) and VO2Max, which is strongly correlated and the correlation between the variables is negative. This is stated that the higher the BMI, the lower the VO2max cardiorespiratory endurance level, while the lower the BMI, the higher the VO2max cardiorespiratory endurance level.
