Abstract

The low awareness among the community to participate in Posbindu is influenced by the lack of promotion for the Posbindu program itself. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of health promotion strategies in increasing community participation in Posbindu PTM in the Silau Laut UPTD Health Center's working area in 2024. Using a qualitative approach with interview and observation methods, this research found that the low awareness among the community to participate in Posbindu was caused by a lack of socialization and long distances. In response, the Health Center has implemented various promotional efforts. The research results show that collaboration between the Health Center, cadres, and community leaders is crucial in increasing participation. However, more measured and sustainable strategies are needed to overcome geographical challenges. This study highlights the important role of local government in supporting the Posbindu program and provides recommendations for developing more effective health promotion programs.

Abstract

Background: Puskesmas is a primary health care facility that focuses on promotive and preventive efforts. In carrying out its duties to serve the community, community health centers carry out drug management which includes pharmaceutical, health and laboratory services. Drug logistics management is a series of activities that include planning, procurement, storage, distribution and optimal destruction of drugs. Objective: This study aims to evaluate drug logistics management at the Lubuk Pakam Community Health Center pharmacy installation. Method: The research uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interview methods. Results: The results showed that drug planning was based on use in the previous year and existing disease patterns. Medicines are procured every two months using the LPLPO form, while medicines are received by matching the medicines received with the invoice. The drugs received are stored using the FIFO, FEFO method, and are arranged alphabetically. Distribution of medicines from Puskesmas is carried out to sub-district health centers and Poskedes. Expired medicines are destroyed by collecting and recording expired medicines before they are sent to the Health Service pharmacy installation. In general, drug logistics management is running quite well, although drug procurement is still done manually. Suggestion: Researchers suggest that Community Health Centers can improve drug logistics management to become more efficient.

Abstract

Anemia during pregnancy is a condition in which the body of pregnant woman experiences reduction in hemoglobin levels due to iron deficiency during pregnancy period, potentially causing complications. This research aims to determine the relationship between preconception body mass index (BMI) and upper arm circumference (UAC) with the occurrence of anemia in third-trimester pregnant women in the Waru Public Health Center working area. The method employed is quantitative analytic observational, using cross-sectional study design, and using secondary data taken from maternal antenatal care (ANC) records. Respondents were 94 third trimester pregnant women selected through simple random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test and calculation of the odds ratio (OR). The results indicated a prevalence of 53.2% for anemia occurring in third-trimester pregnant women in the Waru Public Health Center. Analysis using chi-square obtained p-value = 0.045 and OR = 2.329 for preconception body mass index (BMI) with the occurrence of anemia in third-trimester pregnancy, p-value = 0.276 and OR = 2.864 for preconception upper arm circumference (UAC) with the occurrence of anemia in third-trimester pregnancy. These results showed that there is a association between preconception body mass index (BMI) and the occurrence of anemia in third-trimester pregnancy, while there is no association between preconception upper arm circumference (UAC) and the occurrence of anemia in third-trimester pregnancy. It is expected that women of reproductive age who are preparing for pregnancy will maintain a normal nutritional status during the preconception period to prevent pregnancy anemia as an early intervention.
