Abstract

Health services are a benchmark in determining the expected quality of health services in hospitals. In providing services, patients must receive the best service from the hospital to improve public health. This type of research is quantitative research using an analytical survey method with a cross-sectional approach. The population and sample in this study were all 112 inpatient rooms at Granmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital. The influencing variables are building components, air ventilation, and bed equipment. This research uses primary data in the form of observation sheets and checklists. Meanwhile, secondary data was obtained directly from the Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital office. Analysis of the data used univariate and bivariate analysis. The highest Inpatient Class Building Component is in the very good category, namely 58 rooms (51.8%). The highest Inpatient Class air ventilation factor was in the very Good category with 47 rooms (42.0%). The highest Inpatient Class Bed Completeness Factor was in the Very Good category with 60 rooms (53.6%). Each factor's p-value obtained is 0.001; 0.004; 0.002 means that there is an influence of building components, air ventilation, and bed equipment on the readiness to implement standard inpatient classes at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital in 2023.

Abstract

Current developments in food processing technology have made many food producers create variations in food products. Variations can include adding attractive food colorings so that consumers become enthusiastic. This good development is also disrupted because there are still some food producers who add synthetic food coloring which is not permitted to be used in food products. This happens because of a lack of knowledge and the desire of producers to make more profits, without thinking about the health impacts on the community. Synthetic dyes have a bad impact on human health, especially if they are not intended as food additives. Rhodamine-B is a synthetic dye that gives a bright red color to most cosmetic products. Rhodamine-B can irritate the gastric mucosa, eyes, skin, and respiratory tract, and trigger liver cancer. This type of research is quantitative using experimental methods in the laboratory. The samples tested were chili sauces with 5 different brands circulating in the Tanjung Morawa traditional market. Qualitative analysis using TLC was used to identify the presence of rhodamine-B in chili sauce. Comparative rhodamine-B levels and chili sauce were measured using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a maximum lambda of 545 nm. Chili sauces A, B, and D contain rhodamine-B dye as proven by TLC stains with Rf 0.92; 0.95; and 0.92. The linear regression equation obtained from the relationship between standard concentration and absorbance data is y = 0.0091x-0.009 with a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.9988. Rhodamine-B levels in each chili sauce A, B, and D include 0.548; 0.505; and 0.496 mg/g. Regulation Number 722/Menkes/Per/IX/88 emphasizes that rhodamine-B is not permitted in food products because it is dangerous for body health.

Abstract

Fever is one of the signs on the body that there is a process in which the body is fighting infection, the temperature of 37.5 ° C can be categorized as Fever caused by the presence of infection and autoimmune diseases, the inability of the mechanism of body heat loss can also occur due to excess production at body temperature. The World Health Organization (WHO) stated that the number of diseases in children with symptoms of fever is 62% with a mortality rate of 33%.The administration of aloevera compresses is one of the non-pharmacological interventions that can lower body temperature. The aim of this study is to find out how Aloevera Compresses affect the decrease in body temperature in fever patients. The design of this study is quasi-experimental with an approach (the one group, pretest posttest design). The sampling technique used in this study is Purposive Sampling, in which the sampler technique is based on the inclusion criteria that have been set to be respondents. The sample that was used for 3 months was 30 respondents. The results of statistical analysis using paired simple t-test obtained p value 0,000 (p<0,05) which means there is an effect of Aolevera Compress on the decrease in body temperature in fever patients. It is hoped that health workers can improve the quality of nursing staff services in improving skills in administering the effect of aloe vera compresses and can be used as information and increase knowledge.

Abstract

Standard precautions are needed to implement the IPC program in hospitals. Implementation of Standard Precautions can be carried out because it is driven by the PPI Committee or Team. The PPI Committee or Team is formed based on needs, workload, and type of health service facilities. The eleven components of standard precautions can be implemented in every health service, especially in Indonesia which is trying to reduce HAIs. HAIs are known as nosocomial infections that occur in hospital patients, where infection has not occurred while the patient has been hospitalized for more than 48 hours. The large risk of infection in hospitals encourages the need to reduce the risk of infection through the PPI Program. A descriptive qualitative research method was chosen to obtain meaning from a number of individuals and social groups. The qualitative research process includes asking questions, collecting data, analyzing data, and interpreting the meaning of the data. The sample in this study was 8 informants, including Hospital Leaders, heads of Hospital Quality, Nurses in charge of the field, Daily Executive Officers, and Executive Nurses in service units. The results show that the PPI policy has been implemented well which includes the PPI Structure and Team, Infection Surveillance Manual, Standard Precautions and implementation of Hand Hygiene and PPE, as well as the budget. Meanwhile, the condition of facilities and infrastructure is not optimal, such as hand hygiene facilities and use of PPE, collection of HAI infection surveillance data, and training. Conclusion: The Standard Precautions Implementation Policy already exists and is based on Minister of Health Regulation No. 27 of 2017. The results of the Hand Hygiene and PPE compliance audit do not match the Quality Profile, facilities, and infrastructure are not optimal, namely below 100%, and stock in the premises is still limited

Abstract

Introduction: Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death in the world, with 27% of deaths in 2020 attributable to CVD. American Heart Association recommends adopting Mediterranean diet and eating 2-3 servings of fish to increase cardiovascular health and decrease morbidity and mortality caused by CVDs. This effect is thought to be attributed to Omega-3 content in those diets. But, conclusive evidence about the role of Omega-3 in cardiovascular disease hasn’t been reached. This paper aims to discuss further on to the topic of effects of Omega-3 on cardiovascular health. Method: Searching PubMed using keywords “Omega-3 Fatty Acids” AND “Cardiovascular”, and filtering relevant journals. Results: A literature review will be made from 6 choosen RCTs that fulfill all the criteria. Discussion: Bhatt et al concludes that supplementation of icosapent ethyl decreases CVD mortality, non-fatal MI, non-fatal stroke and unstable angina by 25%. But other RCTs fail to demonstrate said effects. Studies by Bowman et al, Kalstad et al, Manson et al, Nicholls et al, and Roncaglioni et al. concludes that supplementation of omega-3 fatty acid does not produce a significant change in CVD. These different findings across different studies may be caused by different doses of Omega-3 given, different baseline characteristics of patients and medications that masks the effects of Omega-3. Conclusion: Further studies are needed to determine the effects of omega-3 in CVD, but consumption of omega-3 appears to be safe and shows a slight reduction in CVD events based on a recent meta-analysis by Bernasconi et al.
