Abstract

Communication skills are essential for students, where is communication skills is an abilityfor extending message exactly to others and students be able to perform in front of public. Infact thatthere is a student who tends to have less verbal, fail to express thoughts and ideas in his mind, getanxious on public speaking, feel heart beats very fast and perspire just before starting a speech, afeeling of helplessness building up when speaking on public speaking. This study aims to know therelationship between communication skills with public speaking anxiety. Correlation Productmoment analysis showed that there was a significant correlation between skills communication andpublic speaking anxiety r = -0,785 0,01. The result showed that there was a negative correlationalbetween skills communication with public speaking anxiety. It means the higher students skillscommunication then their public speaking anxiety level becomes lower and contrary, lower studentsskills communication then their public speaking anxiety level become higher.

Abstract

This research was dealing with the management of nonformal education program conducted by students on school education beyond the PPL PLS at Kecamatan Koto Tangah indicated in good enough result. This study attempts to get an overview of the ability to persuasive communication and experience of the organization, then to reveal of the contribution between the variables. The research was quantitative research by applying a technique of correlational, where the population of this study was all students of  PLS FIP UNP who carried out the PPL PLS and have  experiences of the organization. The results of this research showed that: the picture of persuasive communication ability and experience organisations of student were good; persuasive communication contribute positively and significant to management of nonformal education program; experience of the organization contribute positively but less significant on the management of nonformal education program; persuasive communication and experience of the organization jointly positive contributed and significantly to management of nonformal education program.

Abstract

There are some factors that become constraints of successful learning for students in SMA Negeri 1 Singingi Hilir namely; lack of spirit in learning, lack of concentration span, high frequency in asking permission, or unreturn after asking permission as well as unfulfilled the assignment. In short, the factors are estuaried to students’ low motivation issue. Learning motivation can be effected by stundents’ aspiration and parents’ support. This study is aimed at obtaining empirical data related to: students’ aspiration in SMA Negeri 1 Singingi Hilir, parents’ support in SMA Negeri 1 Singingi Hilir, learning motivation, correlation of students’ aspiration and parents’ support with learning motivation in SMA Negeri 1 Singingi Hilir. This study  belongs to descriptive and correlational research. Descriptive analysis and linear reggretion analysis are used in analyzing the data. The result of the study shows that students’ aspiration in SMA Negeri 1 Singingi Hilir  is classified medium, parents’ support in SMA Negeri 1 Singingi Hilir is classifed high, students’ learning motivation in SMA Negeri 1 Singingi Hilir is classified medium, students’ aspiration and parents’ support give significant correlation with learning motivation. It is higly suggested that counsellor created Guidance and Councelling program related to students’ aspiration in  career information services and career oriented services, parents’ support in form of home visit and regular parents’ school visit, learning motivation in form of learning information center, content mastery services and personal guindance and councelling  services, next prospective researchers that it is expected to conduct more advance and comprehensive reseach by using other variables that influence learning motivation.

Abstract

Family is the first environment encountered by children. One of the the phenomenons face in the family is the lack of parents attention to their children. Thus, in the everyday life, their behaviors are less accordance with norms and religious values. This study aimed to describe the attention of parents, moral of adolescents, and examine the relationship between them. The type of this study is a descriptive correlation with the findings of parents attention is high, while adolescent moral classified as poor, and there is a significant relationship between the attention of parrents to the moral of adolescents. Abstract

Program Information Center Counseling Adolescent Reproductive Health is an activity to alleviate the problems of students in the school. The reality on ground activities are less likely to get a positive response from students. This study aims to reveal students' perceptions and their relation to the role of students in the program implementation activities PIK-KRR. Correlational descriptive research with a population of 496 students, 84 students sampled, using proportional random sampling technique. Results showed students 'perceptions enough, the role of the students enough and significant relationship between students' perceptions of the role of students in the implementation of program activities PIK-KRR. Abstract

This research is purpose to know the effectiveness in improving “layanan informasi” about learning motivation of students. This research used experimental techniques that involving 80 students for group experimental and control group. This research resulted is a significant increase of motivation of learning of students before and after the experiment group given the treatment “layanan informasi” by utilizing the principles of high touch (posttest). Beside that, there are also differences in students learning motivation level control group before and after treatment in the form of “layanan informasi” provided without utilizing the principles of high touch. Increase the motivation of learning in the experimental group is given preferential treatment in the form of “layanan informasi” by utilizing the principles of high touch, that much higher when compared to the control group when its not given in the form of treatment the principles of high touch in “layanan informasi”. The results of this research is recommended for the teacher/counselor at school that can improve the implementation of “layanan informasi” to increase the motivation of students in learning by utilizing the principles of high touch. Abstract

Each year students will look for a suitable school for students. Problems arise when there are a lot of options that provide diverse schools offer to prospective students. Contributions of students self concept and parents involvement supposed to influence in the selection of secondary schools. This study aimed to describe: 1) self-concept of students of SMPN 25 Padang, 2) parents involvement of SMPN 25 Padang, 3) students secondary school selection, 4) the contribution of students self-concept against secondary school selection, 5) contribution parental involvement against secondary school selection, 6) the contribution of students self-concept and parental involvement against secondary school selection. This corelational descriptive research applied quantitative method. The population of the research were students in grade IX of SMPN 25 Padang also using proportional random sampling technique. The instrument of this research was the Likert scale model. The data obtained were analyzed by using descriptive statistic, simple regression and multiple regression. The research findings were: 1) students self concept in average were in high category, 2) parental involvement in average were in high category, 3) students selection of secondary school were in high category, 4) there are significance different between students self concept against students selection of secondary school amount 44.3% (R = 0.666), 5) there are significance different between parental involvement toward students selection of secondary school amount 51.1% (R = 0.715), and 6) there are significance different between students self concept and parental involvement toward students selection of secondary school amount 54.2% (R = 0.736). The implication of this research may useful to design a guidance and counseling program, especially career guidance.

Abstract

Extracurricular activities in the Junior High School is one of self-development activities that require good coaching in the areas of planning, implementation and evaluation, but in reality it is less accomplished coaching. The population of this research is all the teacher coaches of extracurricular activities in junior high school Sawahlunto with a sample of 65 people. The results of the study coaching extracurricular activities in junior high school Sawahlunto already performing quite well in the areas of planning, implementation and evaluation f extra-curricular activities.

Abstract

SMAN 4 Kerinci (Senior High School) is one of favorite schools which has potential to conduct guidance and counseling service optimally. This is supported by its conducive condition and the sufficient number of the teachers. All of the teachers have qualification in Guidance of Counseling education. In addition, this school has adequate facilities. Unfortunately, the phenomena in the field indicated that the guidance and counseling service was not effectively conducted. This research was intended to describe the implementation of Guidance and Counseling service in that school. This was a qualitative research which applied phenomology approach. The informants of the research were the school fellows including headmaster, vice headmaster, guidance and counseling teachers, subject teachers and classroom teachers. The data where collected through observation, interview and documentation study. To check the trustwortiness of the data, there were four conducted (1) credibility, (2) transferability, (3) depedability, and (4) conformability. The data gathered where analyzed by (1) data reduction, (2) displaying the data and, (3) drawing conclusion/verifying. The research findings showed that the Guidance and Counseling service was not yet conducted optimally at SMAN 4 Kerinci. The cooperation between Guidance and Counseling Teachers with other school fellows was not yet established. This research concluded that the conducive atmosphere, the availability of sufficient qualified teachers, the adequate number of school fellows and the availability of sufficient facilities unless they were supported by good cooperation among related parties, the Guidance and Counseling service would not be optimally accomplished. Based on these conclusions, it was suggested: (1) the Guidance and Counseling teachers to be professional in carrying out their duties and responsibility and to be albe to cooperate with other school fellows. and (2) the school fellows to understand their roles in implementing Guidance and Counseling activities at school and be albe to get involved actively in.

Abstract

Lanjut usia merupakan tahap akhir perkembangan pada daur kehidupan manusia yang merupakan suatu proses alami yang tidak dapat dihindari oleh setiap individu. Perubahan-perubahan fisologis maupun psikososial, akan berpotensi pada masalah kesehatan baik fisik maupun psikologis. Salah satu masalah psikologis yang sering terjadi pada lanjut usia pada kondisi kehidupan sosial adalah kecemasan. Kecemasan diartikan suatu kondisi emosi yang menimbulkan ketidaknyamanan ditandai dengan perasan khawatir, kegelisahan dan ketakutan sehingga dapat mengganggu kehidupan. Naskah ini mencoba untuk kemaparkan konsep kecemasan dan aspek yang terkait dengan kecemasan yang dialami lansia secara umum dan panti jompo secara khusus.
