Abstract

Education about family resilience is essential to strengthen national unity. Family resilience in Indonesia is still considered lacking, especially during the pandemic the divorce rate is even higher. Social media, especially Instagram, has a significant role as the right educational media for the younger generation. The research was conducted to design media for family resilience education for the younger generation. This research is a qualitative study with a descriptive approach. Researchers conducted a content analysis on four family education Instagram accounts to get an idea of ​​the information needs related to family resilience. Three crucial aspects of family resilience are physical resilience, resilience, social resilience, and psychological resilience. The analysis conducted on the @ibupedia.id, @parenting_islam.id, @parenttalk.id, and @talkparenting accounts revealed several sub-aspects of physical endurance, such as home ownership and work require more emphasis. In general, aspects of psychological resilience, such as managing emotions, stress, and household finances, are still not given much attention. These contexts are actually at the level of the husband and wife relationship, which should be the key to creating family resilience. The results of this study can be used as a reference for developing more comprehensive parenting education media.

Abstract

DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has implemented Smart City to fulfil Society 5.0. This study aims to see how far the citizens of Jakarta are able to implement Society 5.0 because Jakarta is one of the big cities in the world. This research uses an approach with a case study method in North Meruya with research informants from urban villages, millennial opinion leaders, and Jakarta Smart City program managers. This study found that the citizens of Jakarta have not yet reached the stage of Society 5.0. There are still people who do not know the application of online public services, and lack of digital technology and digital literacy. This phenomenon shows that there is a similar possibility in the middle-class environment in Jakarta and even throughout Indonesia, although there must be similar research to support it. In order to get to Society 5.0, literacy needs to be increased so that people have the competence and understanding of using technology effectively and critically. This study recommends collaborative governance that combines government policies and citizen participation in building a smart city digital ecosystem to encourage the implementation of Society 5.0’s intelligent digital civilization.

Abstract

The music streaming service provider app, Spotify, accommodates users to customize their music consumption to suit their needs. Not only for listening to music, but Spotify also allows users to show off their musical tastes through other social media channels. The process of music consumption in Spotify becomes a tool of identity construction as well as distinguishing individuals by their social circle, and makes individuals feel that they are part of a particular group. This study examined the process of constructing user’s identity through music consumption on Spotify, where there is a process of extended self into the social media sphere. This research was conducted with virtual ethnographic method towards Indonesian Spotify users. The results indicated that informants used music consumption in Spotify as a way to construct an extended self in the digital space, primarily through ownership of Spotify profiles and music preferences.

Abstract

This article examines the implementation of instrumental communication in the Kulon Progo Bela Beli movement in establishing regional branding and what actions the Kulon Progo Regency Government has taken to make the campaign successful. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with an instrumental theoretical approach to the model of persuasion and the concept of regional branding. The data sources of this research involve several sources; Kulon Progo district government officials and community leaders. The results show that the Bela Beli Kulon Progo movement uses various approaches to persuade the public and several regional branding concepts to make the Bela Beli Kulon Progo movement a regional branding. So that the Bela Beli Kulon Progo movement has succeeded in encouraging significant economic growth and reducing the percentage of poverty in the Kulon Progo Regency Government from year to year. The people of Kulon Progo are also increasingly appreciating and buying local Kulon Progo products by producing, marketing, and buying Kulon Progo products.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of public relations advocacy through empowerment programs for persons with disabilities. The method used in this research is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection techniques used interviews, observation, and documentation and researchers used flow analysis models for data analysis techniques. The result of this research is that there are principles used in the empowerment program, namely using a twin-track approach or a two-way approach, people with disabilities, and job providers. The empowerment program starts from planning by conducting a situation analysis. The form of implementation of the empowerment program consists of job readiness training, strengthening alumni careers, digital training, and panel discussions. Suggestions in this research in the future Saujana NGO can carry out public categorization specifically so that public needs and interests can be met. As well as optimizing collaboration with communities and NGOs that can help implement the value of inclusion for persons with disabilities, especially in terms of accessibility of job opportunities.

Abstract

Business Email Compromise (BEC) has become a new mode of cyber crime in the form of phishing emails to targeted individuals or corporations for financial benefits. This article discusses the concept of BEC in the scope of mediated communication and persuasion from the perpetrator to the victim and is related to the theory of Computer-Mediated Communication and the Elaboration Likelihood Model. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a study of email documentation related to BEC and interviews with a number of primary sources involved in handling BEC cases. The results of the analysis show the development of communication in BEC which goes through the phases of impersonal, interpersonal, and hyperpersonal communication. The results of the analysis also show that there was an attempt at persuasion from the BEC perpetrators by directing the victim on a peripheral route with one or a few cues so that there would be a change in attitude in the form of being willing to transfer a certain amount of funds to the account provided by the perpetrator. If the peripheral route is not enough to convince the victim, the BEC perpetrator will use the central route by building persuasion from aspects of motivation, ability, and strong arguments.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tentang dinamika proses produksi berita terkait dengan isu Covid-19 oleh jurnalis media online di masa pandemi. Lebih khusus lagi, artikel ini mengkaji perubahan rutinitas organisasi media dan apa saja konsekuensinya terhadap proses produksi berita yang dilakukan oleh para jurnalis media online nasional berikut: Detik.com, Tribunnews.com, Suara.com dan VOI.id selama pandemi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengadaptasi teori hirarki pengaruh Shoemaker dan Reese dan menggunakan metode studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode wawancara serta observasi online. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa tidak hanya faktor internal, faktor eksternal juga mempengaruhi pola kerja jurnalis dalam produksi berita di media online tersebut. Salah satu faktor internal yang sangat menentukan adalah rutinitas kerja organisasi media online yang berubah secara dinamis selama masa pandemi. Rutinitas ini terkait dengan empat hal berikut yaitu, perubahan sistem cara dan waktu kerja, karakteristik organisasi media, cara mengakses sumber berita dan karakteristik minat audiens atau statistik jumlah pembaca. Keempat hal ini menjadi faktor-faktor penentu ikut merubah cara kerja jurnalis dalam menyeleksi isu dan isi berita khususnya yang terkait dengan Covid-19 yang diproduksi oleh para jurnalis yang bekerja di media-media tersebut.

Abstract

The development of digital media encourages the growth of creativity as well as raises various ethical issues. To encourage a positive impact, users must have digital communication skills. This study aims to determine the digital communication skills of Generation Z, and the study was conducted in Riau Province. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method on 150 generation Z representing urban and rural areas. The research instrument uses four dimensions of digital skills: information, communication, problem-solving, and content development. This study found that a high percentage of all information skills indicators showed that Generation Z's digital literacy was relatively good because they could choose credible websites and social media. Communication skills show a high percentage on all indicators, even very high indicators of the ability to communicate in a digital environment and respect differences, such as religion, culture, gender, and social status. Digital problem-solving skills show a high percentage on all indicators, especially the ability to decide on the use of digital platforms according to their goals and needs. Meanwhile, content development skills tend to be low in producing creative content and managing rights and licenses. This finding concludes that Generation Z is a digital native who is moderate to digital cultural differences and responsive to the development of digital media. This study recommends strengthening digital literacy, especially the development of creative content and intellectual property.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic is a new situation and condition which brings a lot of changes, mothers with Down syndrome children certainly also feel their own experiences during this pandemic. The purpose of this study was to find out the meaning of a child with Down syndrome in the mother's life, and how mothers with Down syndrome children manage the activities and activities they face during Covid-19. This study uses a qualitative phenomenological approach. Data was collected by means of in-depth interviews and documentation with a total of five informants. The results obtained indicate that: 1) The meaning of a child with Down syndrome for mothers is formed from the experience of mothers having a child with Down syndrome, namely as an experience of a spiritual journey, a source of learning, and as a complement to life. 2) There are various efforts by mothers with children with Down syndrome to manage activities and activities during Covid-19, including managing children's school activities, managing children's activities & activities, and managing children's behavior, independence, & responsibilities while at home.

Abstract

Tthis article aimed to understand the crisis communication message from the Minsistry of Education of Republic Indonesia in handling the polemic due to the Online Learning Policy. The method used in this research is qualitative content analysis where the object of the analysis is the content of Nadeim Makarim’s Instagram account that related with the Online Learning policy during August-November 2020 period. The finding of this research will be analyzed with rhetoric perspective. The result of this research showed that the ethos that related with the source of the message has the most emphasize on the crisis communication message of Kemendikbud. In addition, Kemendikbud also implemented some narration to create a union feeling between the organization and stakeholders. Further research is needed to learn more about Kemendikbud’s public communication in handling another crisis.
