Abstract

The study aimed to propose a combined final framework for the development of Christian leaders. The research method used is qualitative with a document analysis approach. There are seven important themes found in the study, including Christian formation, servant leadership motives, personal formations, relational skills, intellectual skills, intrapersonal skills, and management skills. This discovery is an extension of previous research that found only five important themes, namely Christian formation, personal formation, relational skills, intellectual skills, and management skills. This study resulted in two important themes that complement the weaknesses or shortcomings of previous research, namely the motive of servant leadership and intrapersonal skills. The motive of servant leadership consists of serving, influencing, and improving, while intrapersonal skills include humility, credibility, and authenticity.

Abstract

This study discusses the response of the Forum of Islamic Community of North Sumatra Amal Ma’ruf Nahi Munkar (FUI-SU AMANAR) to the case of religious blasphemy committed by RS in Medan Sunggal. This study aims to analyze the form of religious blasphemy committed and the response given by FUI-SU AMANAR, as well as to seek solutions to the problem. The method used is qualitative descriptive with a phenomenological approach to religion. The results show that the RS case provoked emotional and collective responses from the community, including mass actions and demands for law enforcement officials to take action. FUI-SU AMANAR took concrete steps by conducting clarifications, internal investigations, and mediation with authorities. This research emphasizes that religious blasphemy in the digital era has wide social impacts that spread rapidly, thus requiring wise, firm, and peaceful responses from various parties, especially religious organizations. The study also provides understanding about the importance of Islamic organizations in maintaining social harmony and acting as a balancing force in the religious dynamics of society.

Abstract

Industrial activity is often perceived as a threat to environmental sustainability and sociocultural order, especially when it involves the exploitation of indigenous lands and resources. One case that has led to prolonged conflict is the operation of PT Toba Pulp Lestari (TPL) in Toba Regency, which has significantly affected the local ecosystem and the social relations of the Batak Toba community. This article aims to offer an ethical and theological framework based on the concept of sacred relationality within Batak Toba culture as a critical and constructive response to industrial realities. Using a qualitative descriptive analytical approach, the study is carried out in three stages: an empirical assessment of the social and ecological impacts of TPL’s operations, a theoretical exploration of the Human Ecological Triangle, and contextual theological reflection that integrates public theology with the local value system of Dalihan na Tolu. The findings reveal that sacred relationality, understood as the mutual connection between humans, nature, and the Divine, provides a normative foundation for developing an industrial order that is just, sustainable, and oriented toward the integrity of creation and the dignity of local communities. This relational model rejects exploitative frameworks and affirms the importance of collective responsibility in shaping a just public sphere.

Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of social inequality trends on TikTok through the perspective of Tafsir al-Mishbah by M. Quraish Shihab. It explores how Shihab interprets Qur'anic verses to construct a comprehensive understanding of social justice. The findings show that the trend of social inequality on TikTok reflects real and structural disparities in Indonesian society, particularly in terms of wealth, education, and employment. These digital representations highlight a deep-rooted crisis of justice that goes beyond economics. Shihab’s interpretations emphasize Islamic values such as justice (‘adl), balance (al-mīzān), and collective responsibility as foundational principles for addressing inequality. His readings of verses like QS. Al-Hasyr: 7, QS. Az-Zumar: 9, and QS. Al-Isra’: 35 offer an ethical and spiritual framework for understanding inequality as a moral issue. Thus, the findings affirm that Tafsir al-Mishbah can serve as a theological reference for raising collective awareness and developing solutions to the normalization of injustice in the digital era.

Abstract

This article aims to examine and formulate an inclusive model of Christian Religious Education (PAK) at SMP Negeri 1 Parigi, grounded in the theological values of 1 Corinthians 12:12–25. The study uses a qualitative approach, employing the historical-critical hermeneutic method to interpret the biblical text contextually, alongside descriptive field research to explore the actual practices of PAK in the school setting. The findings indicate a gap between the inclusive ideals of the biblical text and the current reality, particularly in the absence of a permanent PAK teacher, low participation among Christian students, and the lack of instructional strategies that accommodate diversity holistically. The article concludes that the body of Christ metaphor can serve as a foundation for building an educational ecosystem that values every student as a dignified member of the learning community. It recommends strengthening the teacher’s role as a mediator of inclusiveness, developing contextual learning strategies based on biblical values, and fostering collaboration between school, church, and family to achieve a liberating and unifying Christian education.

Abstract

This study aims to map the political role of the Gereja Masehi Injili di Halmahera (GMIH) in the 2024 Election and examine how the interaction between religion and politics affects the political preferences and participation of church members. This study employed a qualitative approach. Data were collected through open-ended surveys and in-depth interviews to gain a deeper understanding of the perspectives and experiences of church members. The findings reveal that members’ political preferences are strongly influenced by church leaders, the church actively mobilizes participation through value-based education, and maintains symbolic ties with certain candidates. GMIH contributes to strengthening local democracy but may risk polarization if neutrality is not maintained. Conclusion: GMIH plays a significant role in shaping political awareness and participation among members, with the potential to enhance local democracy if its influence is wisely managed.

Abstract

This article aims to understand the meaning of the Kingdom of God according to Luke 17:20–37 and to examine its implications for the life of the congregation at GKST Baitani Wawopada. It employs a qualitative approach with two main methods: historical-critical hermeneutics to interpret the biblical text in depth, and descriptive field research to explore the congregation’s understanding and daily practices. The discussion reveals that the congregation perceives the Kingdom of God not merely as a future promise or worldly kingdom, but as a spiritual reality that has already come through Christ and is being lived out in their everyday lives. The Kingdom of God is expressed through acts of love, repentance, service, and obedience as tangible signs of God's presence among His people. The implications of this understanding are seen in their attitude of spiritual vigilance, active involvement in the church, and commitment to be a light in society. Thus, the Kingdom of God serves as a theological and ethical foundation for shaping the congregation's life in a meaningful and relevant way.

Abstract

The phenomenon of religious conversion is a complex social and spiritual phenomenon that is often discussed in the religious life of society. This study aims to examine the dynamics of conversion from the perspective of Hinduism and Islam by highlighting the causal factors and the accompanying social and theological implications. The method used is the phenomenology of religion approach and analysis of religious texts from both religions. The results of the study show that religious conversion is not only influenced by spiritual motivation, but also by internal factors such as personality and psychology, as well as external factors such as the environment, marriage, and social pressure. The external factor that most influences religious conversion is interfaith marriage. In the Hindu view, conversion is considered a form of denial of dharma and has an impact on spiritual life and social rights, such as inheritance. Meanwhile, in Islam, the act of apostasy is considered a form of rejection of the teachings of monotheism, with different theological and legal consequences depending on the context. These findings emphasize the importance of a wise and tolerant approach in responding to religious conversion, as well as the need for a space for dialogue between religious communities to build mutually respectful understanding.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore, describe, and examine the theological essence in the Oratorium liturgy worship. The focus of the research is on the Oratorium liturgy at the Gmibm Pniel Tumobui congregation. Research on the Oratorium liturgy uses qualitative research with data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and literature review. The results showed that Oratorium liturgical worship is a form of Christian worship that emphasizes the meeting place between God and the congregation. Existence-essence in Oratory theology as a form of gratitude for the work of salvation bestowed by God for the life of mankind. Therefore, worship using the Oratory liturgy in the congregation of Gmibm Pniel Tumobui is directed to be regular in worshiping God. In addition, the Oratory liturgy is implemented through works of art such as music, chants, and narratives. Through the art of music, singing, and narration, it boosts the emotional-spiritual faith of the congregation of Gmibm Pniel Tumobui, so that they remain faithful in preaching the gospel.

Abstract

This research investigates the implementation of environmental management programs within the Maluku Protestant Church (GPM), aiming to map their execution, identify influencing factors, and analyze congregational participation. A qualitative methodology guides this research. Data collection involves an in-depth literature review of GPM's environmental programs, coupled with interviews and focus group discussions with church officials, congregation members, and local community leaders in Maluku. The collected data will be analyzed to identify relevant patterns, trends, and findings concerning program implementation. The study concludes that environmental management within the GPM is an integral part of its Christian faith responsibility to preserve God's creation. A thorough understanding of program implementation, success factors, and congregational participation is expected to contribute to creating a better and more sustainable environment, aligning with Christian teachings on earth stewardship.
