Abstract

Penelitian ini terfokus pada analisis pengembangan pasar tradisional berbasis pariwisata di Kota Kendari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan analisis pengembangan pasar tradisional berbasis pariwisata di Kota Kendari. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan beberapa konsep, yaitu pasar, pasar tradisional, pasar modern, dan konsep pariwisata. Untuk menganalisis pengembangan pasar tradisional berbasis pariwisata di Kota Kendari dilakukan dengan analisis SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threats). Sumber data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari data primer dan data sekunder. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam pengembangan pasar tradisional berbasis pariwisata berdasarkan analisis SWOT adalah bahwa pengembangan pasar tradisional berbasis pariwisata mempunyai peluang (opportunity) untuk dikembangkan terutama karena Kota Kendari sebagai pusat perkotaan di Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara, tingginya minat berdagang, dan karena pertambahan jumlah penduduk. Selanjutnya, yang menjadi ancaman (threats) dalam pengembangan pasar tradisional berbasis pariwisata adalah maraknya pertumbuhan pasar modern, banyaknya produk-produk luar, pergeseran budaya, dan prilaku pedagang. Kemudian, yang menjadi kekuatan (strength) dalam pengembangan pasar tradisional berbasis pariwisata di Kota Kendari berdasarkan analisis SWOT adalah permitaan barang yang tinggi, peningkatan pendapatan, dan kekuatan komoditi yang beragam. Sementara, kelemahan (weakness) dalam pengembangan pasar tradisional berbasis pariwisata di Kota Kendari adalah kuantitas dan kualitas pedagang yang belum maksimal, penguasaan teknologi yang kurang, belum terpusatnya produk-produk budaya, dan persaingan harga. Strategi untuk mengatasi kelemahan dan ancaman tersebut dilakukan melalui pemanfaatan kekuatan dan peluang yang ada dalam pengembangan pasar tradisional berbasis pariwisata di Kota Kendari.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the reasons Kompania dance as a media for the prevention and treatment of diseases among the people of Wasalabose Village. This study uses the ethnographic method with the technique of collecting data through observation and in-depth interviews. The data collection is a descriptive qualitative. The results of the study show that Kompania dance is a traditional dance which is carried out as an expression of gratitude and illustrates the victory in the war between the Kulisusu forces against the Company who had taken control of the Ambon area. Kompania dance is held twice a year during the celebration of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha and cannot be done on another day. The Kulisusu community in Wasalabose Village made Kompania dance as a means of preventing and treating diseases because there are sacred or magical powers in the dance which are believed to be able to prevent and treat various diseases. Generally, patients who come in rituals and ask for prayer so as to avoid various kinds of diseases kept away from disasters and given a long life. Compania dance has several functions, namely health functions, religious functions, functions of art (entertainment), economic functions and social functions. Abstract

One of the ways to understand the socio-cultural life of the people can be done through its folklore. In this study, it is aming at descrining how the women images in Wakatobi society through the characterization of Waindho-Indhodhiyu main character.This study used descriptive method by applying crtical feminisms approach. The results of this study indicates that the image of women in Waindho-Indhodhiyu folklore is viewed from the aspect of her self-image known to Waindho-Indhodhiyu as a character of adult women who is considered as aubordinate of man. They are marginalized as weaker than men because of patriarchal culture. While based on its social image, the character of Waindho-Indhodhiyu is a character who has concern and pay attention to her family. Waindho-Indhodhiyu is also a character who always teaches her children about the good values and morals of life. On the other hand, the image of women in Waindho-Indhodhiyu folklore is a character who represents women's resistance to male domination. Keywords: folklore, feminist literary criticism, women

Abstract

This study aims to determine the process of implementing the patoba ritual as well as the values contained in the patoba ritual carried out by the Bajo in Latawe Village, District of Napano Kusambi, West Muna Regency. This research is descriptive-qualitative research with data collection techniques through involved observation and in-depth interviews. The results showed that the patoba ritual was one of the cultural heritage traditions born in Latawe Village, West Muna Regency. Patoba is a transitional ritual from childhood to adolescence. The transition period is the most important period in the stage of development of children because the transition period is the basis of personality that was built for all his life. The process of implementing the patoba ritual in Bajo people in Latawe Village, Napano Kusambi District, West Muna Regency begins with preparing ritual materials. Whereas the values contained in the patoba ritual are the value of forgiveness, the value of recognition that the Prophet Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, the value of obedience to the father and mother, the value of respect for the older, the value of compassion, the value of health, the value of salvation, the value of togetherness, the value of togetherness, value forgiveness, and courtesy values. Abstract

This study aims to find out and to describe the prostitution transactions and the relationship between cafe owners, pimps and commercial sex workers at tent cafes in Kendari Beach, Kendari City. Data collection is done by direct observation techniques and in-depth interviews. The data is analyzed by descriptive qualitative. The results show that the prostitution transactions in tent cafes in Kendari Beach. It is caused by the lack of modal and low income in selling culinary. One way to get a higher modal is to make their cafe as a place for prostitution transactions. Prostitution transactions involve cafe owners, pimps and prostitutes. Abstract

This study aims to find out the reason for the Wanci in Wandoka Village to migrate and describe the economic life of the nomads' families before migrating and after migrating. Data collection techniques are taken through observation (observation) and in-depth interviews (in-depth interviews). Data analysis was carried out descriptive qualitative. The results of the study show that the reason for the Wanci going to wander is due to two main factors, namely (1) the natural condition (geographical) and the topography of the land / land that is not so fertile as agricultural land; (2) family economic factors, where people feel they cannot depend on farming and fishing activities; (3) employment that is relatively very rare; (4) educational factors; and (5) psychological factors. Abstract

This study aims to find out and describe the activities of drinking kameko among the Muna people overseas. Data collection techniques are carried out through in-depth observation and interviews. This study uses Herbert Herbert's theory, thinking about the evolution of law. The results of the study show that drinking activity in the past still upholds ethical values. It contains a symbol of social solidarity that strengthens kinship relations. So that the Muna people consider Kameko a traditional drink. Because the drinking activity of Kameko always fills every traditional activity of the local community. The same conditions are no longer found among the Muna people overseas. Kameko is more seen as a mere alcoholic drink which tends to have a negative impact that is troubling the community. Keywords: kameko drinking, societies, overseas, Munanese

Abstract

This study aims to find out and to describe the language used in everyday life by the Muna's people and the reason for the inability of the Muna people to speak in Muna language. This research is qualitative descriptive research. Data collection is done through observation techniques involved and in-depth interviews. The results of this study indicate that the language commonly used in everyday life by Muna people in Laiworu Village is Indonesian as the main language of both communications within the family, school, market, and in the environment in which they work. Some of the things that underlie Muna people in Laiworu Village cannot speak Muna language, among others: (1) because of the emergence of feelings of inferiority or prestige when using regional languages in daily communication, especially among teenagers. They do not want to be labeled as villagers; (2) They live in settlements that tend to be multicultural, and (3) mixed marriages. Nevertheless, Muna Language can still be found in the interaction of the local community. But in a limited situation, that is only when meeting parents who are elderly or are meeting with people from the village. Keywords: Muna’s people, Muna language, Laiworu Village

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out and describe the symbolic meaning of cigarettes in Mounda in the Tolakinese. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively qualitatively. Data collection is done through observation techniques involved (participation observation) and in-depth interviews. The results of this study indicate that cigarettes in the mounda tradition have deep symbolic meanings. Mounda is done by using cigarettes and matches placed on a plate and then covered with handkerchiefs brought by the invitees to be presented to the families to be invited. The activity of inviting (mounda) by using cigarettes has the meaning as a form of appreciation and respect for those invited. Thus, relatives or invited people find it hard not to attend the intended invitation. Keywords: cigarette, symbol, mounda, Tolakinese

Abstract

The research aims to find out the types of traditions of mabbaca doang in overseas Buginese communities, Tombekuku Village. In addition, it is also to find out the reasons for the local community still maintaining the tradition. The data analysis is descriptive qualitative. Data collections are observation techniques and in-depth interviews. The results of this study indicate that the tradition of mabbaca doang by the Bugis migrants in Tombekuku Village has several types, namely mabbaca doang when approaching fasting, during Eid al-Fitr, and have a new house. This tradition is carried out in various forms of gratitude by the local community towards the Almighty God. Besides this tradition, it also aims to obtain blessings, health, and safety in life. Socially, this tradition serves as a means to strengthen the kinship among communities. Whereas from the religious aspect, this tradition serves as a way of pleading to the Creator. The reason the Buginese community maintain the tradition of mabbaca on the overseas is that the tradition is a hereditary belief from the ancestors and to preserve the tradition in the overseas land.
