Abstract

Football is a high-intensity game of long duration, so in addition to technical, tactical, strategic and mental factors, there is one more determining factor, namely muscle fatigue, this factor which is often forgotten by coaches and players. The cause of player fatigue is due to heavy training or a tight competition schedule, there is a metabolic waste in the blood called lactic acid, this buildup of lactic acid causes fatigue but actually some of the lactic acid can be converted back into energy. The research objective to be achieved in this study was to determine the effect of exercise massage and muscle stretching in reducing lactic acid levels in the blood after a 45-minute round 1 soccer match. The type of research used is the type of research used is descriptive research. The population in this study, namely the population in this study were all football players in one team, namely 22 players from the Surabaya partner club. The data collection method used in this study is the measurement of blood lactic acid levels. The instrument used in this study was a blood lactic acid test using a blood lactic acid level measuring device. The data obtained will be analyzed using inferential statistics, namely the independent T test. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the provision of sports massage and muscle stretching can reduce levels of lactic acid in the blood after the first half of the soccer match for 45 minutes. Based on the findings of the research on the first and second treatments, some suggestions are given, including; (1) for soccer players after training or matches, it is better to give sports massages and muscle stretching to maintain stamina in the next round, so that they can be maximized in training and matches; and (2) players who will be doing training or matches should stretch or warm up before being deployed to the field to avoid injury.

Abstract

This study strives to compile a home learning (LFH) profile of rural children. This study was conducted using a phenomenological design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and participatory observations in 13 villages. The validity of the data is checked using source triangulation and technique triangulation. Based on the qualitative analysis, the following significant findings are highlighted: (a) children and parents view LFH as government reimbursement for a crisis circumstance, rather than as a school-mandated requirement. (b) LFH in rural areas is implemented in a blended learning design (model: flipped classroom). The design was adopted since the prior full-online and hybrid learning designs were ineffective. (c) LFH participation rates tend to be low. Besides being caused by technical constraints, this is due to the socio-cultural environment that promotes pragmatism in the educational process. (d) Through the Madurese philosophy of Bhuppa'-Bhabbhu', Ghuru, Rato, the socio-cultural context gives prospects for the success of LFH and the growth of education in general. This concept serves as a guideline for the Madurese ethnic community to establish priorities and respect for three (or four) key figures in life according to Islamic tradition. underpins the child's decision to participate in LFH or not. The findings of this study have the potential to correct a number of prior studies that identified poverty and underdevelopment as the most influential determinants in the success of rural children's home learning.

Abstract

Carried on in non-English major freshman students setting, this study aims to examine how critical thinking skills can be developed through cooperative learning in their argumentative essay writing. An experimental group (n=20) and a control group (n=20) were randomly set up, the students were pre-tested and post-tested to see if there is a significant difference in their assigned essay through the Illinois Critical Thinking Essay Scoring Rubric. The implementation of critical thinking rubrics was carried out by 1) supporting students in cooperation, 2) offering the objective 3) fostering students to develop their ideas in writing. The Paired Sample T-test was used to calculate the difference between the pre-and post-test results. Results confirmed that in the Paired Sample t-test, the mean score (-5000) of the experimental group is statistically higher than the mean of the control group’s (-3900). It indicates that the implementation of the critical thinking strategy effectively develops and promotes students’ critical thinking skills in argumentative essay writing. Through the implementation of five key elements of critical thinking by Sadeghi (2012), students were more open-minded, tolerant, objective, honest and concise, respecting others, and interpreting situations differently. The research offered a different perspective on developing students’ critical thinking strategy use by focusing on longer periods of research and the larger number of participants and also implied the integration of critical thinking scoring rubric and argumentative essay skill performance for future research.
