They are 1) what kind of supportive teacher talk features to promote students’ responses in EFL Classroom; 2) what is the dominant type of supportive teacher talk features that promote students’ responses in EFL Classroom; and 3) how the students’ responses towards the supportive teacher talk features in EFL Classroom. The study's subject was an excellent English teacher who taught second-year students at a public senior high school in a range of English abilities. Field notes and recordings of classroom interactions on audio and video were used to gather the data. Abstract

This study tries to discuss how the evolution of vertical video contributes as a learning medium for children in the 21st century. Furthermore, vertical video as learning media refers to the trend of the 21st-century education world, which prioritizes flexibility in learning modes and media. This flexibility also contributes to the increasing massive emergence of contemporary learning media, especially for children, which prioritizes interactivity through the concept of public pedagogy. This study uses a multi-site qualitative. With a literature study of 34 articles covering 21st-century interactive learning from the search databases JSTOR, Taylor Francis, Wiley Library, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar with keywords: "children's education," "interactive education," and "social media education." Then, a content analysis was conducted to discuss vertical videos as a medium for children's learning on TikTok. The study results show that the evolution of vertical video is good because it is by human ergonomics, which is seen as a vertical creature. Likewise, when he synergizes with TikTok, which gets a good response from children, it becomes a learning medium. On the other hand, TikTok provides opportunities through alternative space and opportunity space for learning media creators and students to collaborate in the scope of digital art, digital creation, and interactive public pedagogy.

Abstract

This study aimed to discover the EFL students' viewpoints on the difficulties they encountered when writing in English, as well as their strategies for overcoming these hurdles. This study was conducted on EFL students in a senior high school in Medan. This research involved the involvement of twenty-nine eleventh-graders. The researchers utilized a questionnaire and an interview to collect data following their research themes. The questionnaire aims to identify the barriers students face when writing in English. The questionnaire was sent using a Google form with closed-ended questions based on Bryne's (1988) categories and a five-point Likert scale (strongly agree, agree, neutral, disagree, and strongly disagree). Subsequently, an interview was conducted with a subset of participants (n = 5) specifically chosen to elicit further information about their strategies for overcoming writing difficulties. The interview was recorded using a cell phone by the researchers. Before data processing, the audio cassette was transcribed word-for-word. Thus, data collected with three instruments were analyzed using three approaches: frequency count for questionnaire data and content analysis for interview data. According to the findings, students encountered linguistic (grammar, vocabulary, language use, sentence construction) and psychological issues when composing English texts (lack of teacher instruction and feedback). There are no cognitive appearance issues. The students use mind mapping, translating materials from Indonesian to English, maintaining practice, and peer evaluation to overcome their writing difficulties. This research was expected to contribute to minimizing the difficulties experienced by students in writing English through the strategy revealed in this study
