Abstract

This research aim to develop a continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) in the meant to produce WO3 nanoparticles. A manual calculations was done using Microsoft Excel. The result obtained CSTR with a tank designed with volume 1301.14 m3 volume, height 1.26 m, and 1.19 designed hydrostatic pressure. The reactor also equipped with 1 stirrer with length 0.23 m and width 0.18 m. This study expected to be useful reference for production of WO3 nanoparticles in industrial scale.

Abstract

Rhodamine B is a synthetic dye that is commonly used in the textile industry, paper industry, and as a reagent. Rhodamine B can cause skin irritation, poisoning, and have carcinogenic effects. According to the regulation of the Head of BPOM RI No 18 (2015) concerning Technical Requirements for Cosmetic Ingredients, the use of Rhodamine B is prohibited in cosmetic preparations. From several studies that have been reported, Rhodamine B is still misused as dyes of various kinds of cosmetics such as lipstick. The purpose of this study is to identify and determine the levels of Rhodamine B in lipstick distributed in Setu Market, Bekasi. This research was carried out through the stages of sample collection and preparation, qualitative analysis using the Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) method and quantitative analysis using UV-Vis spectrophotometric method. Samples were chosen by purposive sampling method which met criteria of red color, did not registered at BPOM and priced in the range of Rp. 5.000,00 -Rp. 15.000,00. Based on the result of TLC, out 2 of 5 samples contained Rhodamine B. Spectrophotometric quantitative analysis showed that the levels of Rhodamine B in the samples were 0.015% and 0.00067% respectively for sample C and sample E. From this research, it was known that Rhodamine B is still used as coloring agent in lipstick distributed in Setu Market, Bekasi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas korelasi antara pendidikan, ilmu pendidikan dan mendidik. Dengan memakai metodologi analisis korelasional yang dapat mengetahui ada atau tidaknya hubungan linier antar variabel. Pendidikan (paedagogie) adalah proses pembentukan kecakapan-kecakapan fondamental secara intelektual dan emosional kearah alam dan sesama manusia. Pendidikan berlangsung dalam segala lingkungan baik yang khusus diciptakan untuk kepentingan pendidikan maupun yang ada dengan sendirinya. Pendidikan cenderung menekankan dalam hal praktek yang menyangkut kegiatan proses belajar mengajar. Sedangkan ilmu pendidikan (paedagogiek) adalah teori-teori pendidikan, perenungan tentang pendidikan dan lebih menitik beratkan kepada pemikiran tentang pendidikan, pemikiran bagaimana sebaiknya sistem pendidikan, tujuan pendidikan, materi pendidikan, sarana dan prasarana pendidikan, cara penilian, cara penerimaan siswa dan guru, hal ini lebih menitik beratkan pada teori. Jadi hasil dari penelitian ini walau terdapat perbedaan namun keduanya terdapat korelasi yang sangat signifikan sehingga bisa berjalan dan berfungsi sesuai ilmu dan implementasinya masing-masing saat mendidik sehingga membuahkan kontribusi dan korelasi positif dalam dunia pendidikan demi terciptanya manusia terdidik dan mampu mendidik menuju manusia sempurna (insan kamil) yang bahagia dunia dan akhiratnya.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the development of research on cadmium sulfide (CdS) as a catalyst with a bibliometric approach using computational mapping analysis using the VOSviewer application. To support research, a reference manager application (Publish or Perish) is used to obtain article data from the Google Scholar database. The keyword "Cadmium Sulfide as a Catalyst" is used to guide the search process for the title and abstract of the article. There were 999 articles considered relevant. Articles used as study material are articles indexed in Google Scholar for the last 10 years of study period (2013 to 2022). The results of the analysis of the development of the publication of cadmium sulfide as a catalyst in the last 10 years show quite frequent fluctuations. Research fluctuations occurred from 2013 – 2015 (61, 89, 67 publications per year, respectively). In 2016 – 2019 there was an increase in research (81, 91, 94, 117 publications per year, respectively). In 2020 – 2022 there will be research fluctuations (113, 155, 131 publications per year sequentially). VOSviewer was used to determine the relationship between the number of published articles on cadmium sulfide as a catalyst and problem areas. This review can serve as a starting point for research related to other materials

Abstract

Fly ash is produced in the combustion process of coal in a factory. It can be used in the construction industry, particularly in cement and concrete production. Moreover, fly ash has been added as one of the materials in cement production due to composition similarities between fly ash and other raw materials. However, fly ash is not environmentally friendly as it contains inorganic compounds that are harmful to the environment. Therefore, it is important to know its properties and characterization for further research, advantages and disadvantages that follows. This study was focusing on the Ca, Cu, Mg and Si in fly ash as a byproduct of coal combustion. Based on the results, SiO2 and CaO levels consecutively are 21,17% and 0,65% indicated that fly ash can be added as one of the materials used in cement production. Furthermore, the toxic Cu and Mg in fly ash displayed its safety in the environment, in sequence are 0,02855ppm and 0,81825ppm.

Abstract

The research examines the optimization of senior teachers’ performance in order to enhance the quality of education in secondary schools. Senior teachers’ refer to those who are above the age of fifty and possess extensive experience in the field of education. They may even serve as subject intructors or former subject instructor. They reality on the ground is that their potential is often overlooked by the school prinsipals and their capabilities remain untapped. Furthermore, three is tendency to label them as old, locking energy, and no longer possessing potential. Based on the aothor’s experience as asecondary school principal, it is evident that the author consistenly atilizes the knowledge and experience of senior teachers to great effect, incorporating them as part of a team to improve the school’s quality. This is because they not only possess mastery over instructional strategies but also have considerable experience in montoring junior teachers. Moreover, considering the presence of numerouse new teachers in schools who require guidance and mentorship to become professional educators, the school principals should leverage the knowledge and experience of senior teachers to enhance the educational quality within the school. The principal should estabilish methods to optimize the performance of these senior teacher, and it is these approaches and strategies that the author will discuss in this article.

Abstract

The basic laws of chemistry are one of the materials that are difficult for students to understand because they are abstract, concrete and mathematical. Therefore, it is necessary to choose the right learning model for basic chemical law material to improve students' understanding and involvement in the learning process. Guided Inquiry Learning (GIL) is a type of learning strategy that can increase student participation. In this case, an effective learning system can be applied in improving the quality of learning with the GIL model, the learning system is LSLC (Lesson Study for Learning Community). This research method is a quasi experiment with a research design of Nonequivalent control group design. The data obtained are normally distributed and the variance is homogeneous. Then the hypothesis test carried out is the t-test. obtained t count > t table value so it is concluded that the learning outcomes using the LSLC-based GIL learning model (experimental class) are higher than the control class.

Abstract

Learning that is still centered on the teacher makes students not actively involved in the learning process. Therefore, an efficient learning model is needed to help students develop higher order thinking skills by actively involving students. The selection of learning models that support students actively in the learning process is one of the factors that determine student learning outcomes. One of the learning models that involve students actively is guided inquiry learning.. To support the implementation of the guided inquiry learning model optimally, it is necessary to have a process of planning and reflecting on learning, namely lesson study for learning community (LSLC). This study aims to analyze the effect of applying the LSLC-based guided inquiry learning model on colloidal system material on student learning outcomes at Adabiah Padang High School. This type of pseudo-experimental research uses a pretest-posttest control group design. The data obtained were normal and homogeneous. From the t-test results obtained tcount (2.579) > ttable (1.997). So it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of students who use the LSLC-based guided inquiry learning model are significantly higher than the learning outcomes of students without using the LSLC-based guided inquiry learning model on colloidal system material at Adabiah Padang High School.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to know characteristics of breakable dragon fruit jam with adding pineapple puree. The research design used was a complete factorial random design. The cutting range with breakable area (A), with the type: A1 = 1 cm; A2 = 2 cm; and A3 = 3 cm. The second treatment is concentration of pineapple puree on dragon fruit jam (B), with the type: B1 = 0 % pineapple puree, B2 = 25 % pineapple puree, B3 = 50 % pineapple puree, B4 = 75 % pineapple puree, B5 = 100 % pineapple puree. The test parameters observed are water content, vitamin C content, crude fiber content, and total plate count. The results showed that adding pineapple pure can change dragon fruit jam characteristic. The cutting range 3 cm from breakable area is the safest dragon fruit to be raw material jam. The best treatment was obtained from A3B4 in concentrate pineapple puree is 75%.

Abstract

Hand soap is one of the means to clean hands from dirt, germs and other things that make hands dirty. To kill bacteria, some hand soaps contain active substances that can have a negative effect on humans who have sensitive skin, which can cause irritation. Some synthetic active ingredients that are harmful to human skin health are diethanolamine (DEA), Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), and triclosan which functions as an antibacterial. This study aims to obtain the composition of basil leaf extract with the right maceration time as an antibacterial and can produce liquid hand soap products that are in accordance with the quality of SNI 2588:2017 by varying the composition of the basil leaf extract and varying the maceration time. Variations in the composition of basil leaf extract are 3%, 6%, and 9% as well as variations in maceration time of 3 days and 7 days. Analysis of liquid hand soap products includes pH, insoluble in ethanol, free fatty acid content, surface tension, organoleptics, and bacteria. Based on the results of the analysis, all samples met the quality of SNI, but the sample with the best formulation of liquid hand soap was obtained at a composition of 9% extract (9 ml of basil leaf extract in 100 ml of soap volume) with a maceration time of 7 days. The results of the analysis showed that the resulting pH value is 8, the material is insoluble in ethanol 0.46%, free fatty acids 0.32% and the surface tension of soap is 13.52 dyne/cm.
