Abstract

Indonesian language learning Curriculum 2013 which will be studied by junior high school students is one of them is description text. Description text is a type of text describing an object, a thing and a situation so that the reader seems to hear seeing, or feeling the things described. In writing description text, it must pay attention to the structure and rules of language of the description text that have been set, so as to produce a solid and intact description text. In writing the description text students still experience difficulties in writing language rules that are still lacking. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the Explicit Instruction model on the description of writing skills in junior high school students. This type of research is quantitative research using the experimental method. The design of this study was one group pretets-posttest design of this study conducted twice before being given treatment and after being given treatment. The sampling technique of this study was purposive sampling technique, the sample in this study was one class. The data in this study is a performance test results of the description text writing skills before and after using the Explicit Instruction learning model for the description skills of text writing for junior high school students. The results of his research are that there is a significant effect between the learning model and the results of the news text writing skills before and after using the Explicit Instructionmodel on Writing Skills. Text description for Junior High School Students. This is evidenced by the results of research that show that the value of tcount> t table (> 1.90), so that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. That means the explicit instruction learning model is effectively used in the description writing skills of junior high school students.

Abstract

The background of the research is the importance for the students to have master of ceremony skill. Therefore, appropriate alternative learning concept needs to be formulated to help the students to optimize the skill to be a master of ceremony. This study aims to describe Youtube as an alternative learning. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques using literature study and observation. The instruments used were data cards and observation guidelines that had been validated by experts. The study was conducted in 2019 with informants of Indonesian Language Education Study Program students at the University of PGRI Semarang who took the Speaking Course. Data validity uses the triangulation of data sources. The data collected was analyzed using stages: classification, analysis, and drawing conclusions. The  results showed that Youtube can be used as a source of learning, learning media, and a means of disciplining learning products. With the right form of utilization, Youtube can minimize various obstacles, including limited time for practice, students' oral language skills, and knowledge possessed by students.

Abstract

This study seeks to explore the stages of BIPA learning at Sousse University, Tunisia, which uses a genre-based approach. The design of this study is qualitative and is described descriptively. Indonesian language skills including writing skills are the focus of this research. This study uses observation data, worksheets, and questionnaire results. Based on the results of the analysis conducted, it was found that there was an increase in learner skills. Also found obstacles faced by teachers as a form of evaluation for the sending of teaching staff in the following year. Lack of teaching staff and time allocation are problems of text-based learning that requires repetition and focus on the learner. The research also found that the genre-based approach was very effective to be used in the classroom and filled with a small number of students. This research is expected to be a proposal for policies for the management of BIPA learning abroad.AbstrakPenelitian ini berupaya mengeksplorasi tahapan pembelajaran BIPA di Universitas Sousse, Tunisia, yang menggunakan genre-based approach. Desain penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dan dipaparkan secara deskriptif. Keterampilan berbahasa Indonesia termasuk di dalamnya keterampilan menulis menjadi fokus penelitian ini. Kajian ini menggunakan data amatan, lembar kerja, dan hasil kuesioner. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang dilakukan, ditemukan peningkatan keterampilan pemelajar. Ditemukan juga kendala yang dihadapi pengajar sebagai bentuk evaluasi bagi pengiriman tenaga pengajar di tahun berikutnya. Kekurangan tenaga pengajar dan alokasi waktu merupakan problematika pembelajaran berbasis teks yang membutuhkan pengulangan dan fokus pada pemelajar. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa pendekatan genre-based sangat efektif digunakan di kelas dalam dan diisi jumlah pemelajar yang tidak banyak. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi usulan bagi kebijakan bagi pengelolaan pembelajaran BIPA di luar negeri.

Abstract

One of the awards given for the purpose of giving appreciation to the provincial government which has awareness and concern in the field of language and literature is the Adibahasa Award. This adibahasa activity needs to be evaluated so that it is known whether it still has benefits? For this reason, this research was conducted on several parties involved using descriptive qualitative methods. The results of this study include the opinion of the jury that this adibahasa award activity received a positive response, namely saying it was very good up to (83%). The opinion of the heads of centers and KTU is that this adibahasa award activity received a positive response, namely saying good up to (60%). The opinion of the committee was that this adibahasa award activity received a positive response, namely saying it was good and very good up to (53%). The opinion of the provincial service officials is that this adibahasa award activity received a positive response, namely saying it was good up to (66.7%).Abstrak Salah satu penghargaan yang diberikan untuk tujuan memberikan apresiasi kepada pemerintah provinsi yang memiliki kesadaran dan kepedulian di bidang kebahasaan dan kesastraan adalah Penghargaan Adibahasa. Kegiatan adibahasa itu perlu dievaluasi agar diketahui apakah masih memiliki manfaat? Untuk itu, penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap beberapa kalangan yang terlibat dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini mencakup pendapat kalangan juri adalah bahwa kegiatan penghargaan adibahasa ini mendapat respons yang positif, yakni menyatakan sangat baik sampai dengan (83%). Pendapat kalangan kepala balai dan KTU adalah bahwa kegiatan penghargaan adibahasa ini mendapat respons yang positif, yakni menyatakan baik sampai dengan (60%). Pendapat kalangan panitia adalah bahwa kegiatan penghargaan adibahasa ini mendapat respons yang positif, yakni menyatakan baik dan sangat baik sampai dengan (53%). Pendapat kalangan pejabat dinas provinsi adalah bahwa kegiatan penghargaan adibahasa ini mendapat respons yang positif, yakni menyatakan baik sampai dengan (66,7%)

Abstract

This research deals with the investigation of daily communication patterns of social interaction in Batak Toba language. The major issues in this research were the application of daily communication patterns in aspects of social interaction where the patterns were found. Besides, this research also found the way daily communication patterns in social interaction in Batak Toba language are expressed. The results show that the patterns in social interaction in Batak Toba language are found in many aspects, they are: (1) greetings, (2) self-introduction, (3) offer, (4) giving, (5) apologizing, (6) permissions, (7) invitations, (8) reply, (9) requests, (10) regrets, and (11) leave taking. As far as the research had been done, the way the patterns in Batak Toba language are expressed by using terms of kinship such as amang, inang, tulang, nantulang, amang boru, namboru, ito, lae, hela, parumaen, amang bao, inang bao, bere, paraman, appara, etc. Sociolinguistically, there is not any fixed patterns for each of the routines above because they depend on some social factors, such as, terms of kinship, age, gender, and familiarity.AbstrakPenelitian ini membahas tentang investigasi pola komunikasi interaksi sosial sehari-hari dalam bahasa batak toba. Isu utama dalam penelitian ini adalah penerapan pola komunikasi sehari-hari dalam aspek interaksi sosial dimana pola tersebut ditemukan. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menemukan cara pengungkapan pola komunikasi sehari-hari dalam interaksi sosial dalam bahasa batak toba. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola interaksi sosial dalam bahasa batak toba ditemukan dalam banyak aspek, yaitu: (1) salam, (2) perkenalan diri, (3) menawarkan, (4) memberi, (5) meminta maaf, ( 6) izin, (7) undangan, (8) balasan, (9) permintaan, (10) penyesalan, dan (11) pengambilan cuti. Sejauh penelitian yang telah dilakukan, cara pola dalam bahasa batak toba diungkapkan dengan menggunakan istilah kekerabatan seperti amang, inang, tulang, nantulang, amang boru, namboru, ito, lae, hela, parumaen, amang bao, inang bao, bere, paraman, appara, dll. Secara sosiolinguistik, tidak ada pola yang tetap untuk setiap rutinitas di atas karena bergantung pada beberapa faktor sosial, seperti, istilah kekerabatan, usia, jenis kelamin, dan keakraban

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze and reveal the values of religiosity in the animal story or fable "A Mouse Deer Who Always Remembers God". The method used is descriptive analysis method and the theory used to analyze the work is an objective theory based on the work itself. In the fable, the deer figure is very famous, he is smart and always gets a solution when facing problems. He often uses his senses well. In the story "A Mouse Deer Who Always Remembers God", the deer figure always gets a solution to every problem because he always remembers God. The author of the (anonymous) deer story seems to realize that even a creature (animal) always remembers God, what about us humans? By always remembering God life will be saved. This is the hidden message of the author. This fable genre turns out not only to function as entertainment, it also has various functions such as didactic functions, advice, satire, and even.AbstrakTulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mengungkapkan nilai-nilai religiusitas dalam cerita binatang atau fabel “Seekor Kancil yang Selalu Ingat Kepada Tuhan”. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif analisis dan teori yang digunakan untuk menganalisis karya adalah teori objektif yang bertumpu pada karya itu sendiri.  Dalam fabel sosok kancil sangat terkenal, ia berwatak cerdik dan selalu mendapat solusi ketika menghadapi masalah. Ia sering menggunakan akal dengan baik. Pada cerita “Seekor Kancil yang Selalu Ingat Pada Tuhan”, sosok kancil selalu mendapat solusi  dari setiap masalah karena ia selalu ingat pada Tuhan. Pengarang cerita kancil (anonim) tersebut tampak menyadari, bahwa seekor makhluk (binatang) pun selalu ingat Tuhan, bagaiman dengan kita seorang manusia? Dengan selalu mengingat Tuhan hidup akan selamat. Inilah pesan tersembunyi pengarang.Genre fabel ini ternyata tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai hiburan, juga memiliki berbagai  fungsi seperti fungsi didaktik, nasihat, sindiran, bahkan kritik sosial.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence is intelligence that is added to a system that can be regulated in a scientific context or it can be called artificial intelligence. Students usually use the media to improve their English skills with a variety of mobile applications in mastering effective and critical English in order to gain a better understanding of English reading skills. The aims of this study are to know the correlation between students’ artificial intelligence and their English reading skills achievement in the second semester class of the English Study Program at the Islamic University of Kalimantan, Muhammad Arsyad Al Banjari Banjarmasin. In this research, the researcher uses quantitative approach by correlation technique. To measure students' artificial intelligence, the author shares several questions related to the topic by using google form. The study population is a total of 30 students consists of male and female students in a class. After doing research, it was found that the correlation between students’ artificial intelligence and English reading skill achievement was quite high. This is indicated by the results of the research (0.67), where this value shows that there is a significant relationship between the variable x (students' artificial intelligence) and the variable y (learning outcomes of students' Reading achievement). As for the results showing that the mobile application helps improve students' reading skills in English.AbstrakKecerdasan buatan adalah kecerdasan yang ditambahkan pada suatu sistem yang dapat diatur dalam konteks ilmiah atau bisa disebut kecerdasan buatan. Siswa biasanya menggunakan media untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris mereka dengan berbagai aplikasi seluler dalam menguasai bahasa Inggris yang efektif dan kritis untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang keterampilan membaca bahasa Inggris. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kecerdasan buatan mahasiswa dengan pencapaian kemampuan membaca bahasa Inggris pada semester dua Program Studi Bahasa Inggris di Universitas Islam Kalimantan, Muhammad Arsyad Al Banjari Banjarmasin. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik korelasional. Untuk mengukur kecerdasan buatan siswa, penulis membagikan beberapa pertanyaan terkait topik dengan menggunakan google form. Populasi penelitian ini berjumlah 30 mahasiswa yang terdiri dari laki-laki dan perempuan dalam satu kelas. Setelah dilakukan penelitian, ditemukan bahwa hubungan antara kecerdasan buatan siswa dengan pencapaian keterampilan membaca bahasa Inggris cukup tinggi. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh hasil penelitian (0,67), dimana nilai ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara variabel x (kecerdasan buatan siswa) dan variabel y (hasil belajar terhadap prestasi membaca siswa). Adapun hasil yang menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi mobile membantu meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa dalam bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

Culture shock is still a problem for foreign students and BIPA teachers, both during the learning process and outside of learning. This happens because there is no in-depth knowledge and adequate preparation related to cultural differences between countries so that misunderstandings often occur between students and between students and teachers. Therefore, strengthening Cross Cultural Understanding (CCU) learning is important to provide in-depth knowledge for BIPA teachers or students. This learning can be packaged very attractively using media that are in great demand by today's BIPA teachers and students. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of YouTube as a medium for strengthening CCU learning for BIPA students. Data collection was carried out through the distribution of a questionnaire instrument containing short questions to BIPA students. Instruments are created with the help of Google Forms. AbstrakGegar budaya masih menjadi sebuah problematika bagi pelajar asing maupun pengajar BIPA, baik saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung maupun saat di luar pembelajaran. Hal tersebut terjadi karena belum adanya pengetahuan mendalam dan persiapan yang cukup terkait perbedaan budaya antar negara sehingga sering kali terjadi kesalahpahaman antar pelajar maupun antar pelajar dengan pengajar. Oleh karena itu, penguatan pembelajaran Cross Cultural Understanding (CCU) penting untuk memberikan pengetahuan yang mendalam bagi pengajar ataupun pelajar BIPA. Pembelajaran tersebut dapat dikemas dengan sangat menarik menggunakan media yang banyak diminati oleh pengajar dan pelajar BIPA masa kini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan implementasi YouTube sebagai media penguatan pembelajaran CCU bagi pelajar BIPA. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran instrumen angket yang berisi pertanyaan singkat kepada pelajar BIPA. Instrumen dibuat dengan bantuan Google Form.
