Abstract

This study aims at investigating how the application of portfolio learning on student achievement in grade XI AP 1 SMK PGRI Lumajang on the subject of “Prakarya” and “Kewirausahaandan perusahaan dagang ”. The sample is the XI graders of SMK PGRI AP 1 Lumajang. The rtesearch design of this study was classroom action research (PTK). In the first cycle, the test results demonstrate knowledge minimum score of 1,4 and an average value of 2,74 of a maximum value of 3,8. Portfolio assessment results indicate a minimum value of 1,25 and an average value of 1,99 and a maximum value of 2,50. By observing learning completeness criteria of 2,67, the completeness of the knowledge value of 59%, but the value of nothing thorough skills. Results show the student's ability completeness 0%. In the second cycle, the knowledge test results showed the minimum value of 2,2 and an average value of 3,24 and a maximum value of a portfolio assessment 4. Results showed a minimum value of 2,50 and an average value of 3,01 and a maximum value of 3,75. By observing learning completeness criteria of 2,67, the completeness of the knowledge value of 97%, but the value of skill mastery by 90%. Results of the students there were thorough knowledge but skills are not complete, so the thoroughness of a total of 87%. This indicated that the cycle in this study can be stopped. It is therefore that it can be concluded that learning portfolio on the subject of “Prakarya” and “Kewirausahaandan perusahaan dagang” can be very practical and effective to improve the students’ achievement at Class XI AP 1 SMK PGRI Lumajang.Keywords : portfolio and learning achievement.

Abstract

A Passage To India (1924) adalah novel yang hebat yang ditulis oleh penulis yang hebat juga E.M. Forster. Karya-karyanya menitikberatkan pada perbedaan pandangan antara hubungan individu dan tema-tema penghalang perbedaan sebagai masalah-masalah utama, secara khusus, novel karya E.M. Forster ini mengadu domba latar belakang Orang Inggris dan Pergerakan Kemerdekaan Orang India tahun 1920, dan novel ini novel budaya, sosial , psikologi, dan konflik agama yang terjadi secara umum dari pertikaian antara orang pribumi India and penjajah orang Inggris. Kata ‘symbol’ bermakna sesuatu yang lain, suatu objek materi yang menjelaskan sesuatu yang abstrak, dari sudut pandang kesastraan dan istilah kritik sastra, menandakan suatu objek, orang, ide dan yang lain yang di pakai dalan suatu karya sastra, film,dll. Novel A passage to India karya E.M. Forster dilukiskan dengan warna suatu jarak yang lebar tentang symbol-simbol, yang terdari dari ; Gua Marabar, Gambar dari Burung Hijau, symbol Tabuhan, Kejadian-kejadian social; Pesta, piknik, dan Perayaan, Masjid, Gua, Candi, dan Cuaca, langit luas, gambar Pankhawallah, Bayarangan Ular dan Tabrakan Perahu-Perahu.Kata kunci : Simbol, A Passage to India, E.M.Forster

Abstract

Mathematics is a basic discipline. Either on the aspect of logical reasoning or its applications, it is very useful in daily lives and in the effort of progression of mastering knowledge and science as well. The current conditions of mathematics learning in Indonesia are highly required serious attention that caused by a lot of problems raised on math learning (e.g., Math curriculum, learning model, teachers’ qualification, and students’ low motivation). In accordance with the previous illustrations, this research is aimed at (1) investigating the development of realistic Math learning, macromedia flash media-based, on the subject of rectangle and square for seventh grade students of junior high school, and (2) developing and/or producing media-based math learning macromedia flash on the subject of rectangle and square for seventh grade students of junior high school. In this study the researchers use research and development as research design focused on developing media-based realistic math learning using macromedia flash. The products of this study to be developed are lesson plan (RPP), modules for teachers and students, students’ worksheets, and the students’ achievement test/evaluation. After conducting experts’ validation and try out, this macromedia flash media-based only need a minor revision. Abstract

Inquiry learning is learning or review for problem solving in a critical, analytical, and scientific used particular steps. Media is physical tool that can stimulate students to learn. Learning activities are the students’ activities in the learning process through from physical activities to psychological activities. This research aimed to increase the students’ learning activities using Inquiry learning model and image media. The research design used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), with qualitative descriptive approach. Based on the result of research, indicated that there were 43,2% of student learning activity on the first cycle and 86% on the second cycle. While in the learning outcomes of students on the first cycle showed 70% and 88% on the second cycle. As the basis of the research findings, the activity and student learning outcomes can be increased through the Inquiry model with the image media. Abstract

In accordance with the previous information, a few research problems emerged:  (1) how is the implementation of using cooperative, contextual, and sorogan (KKS) shadow-based in enhancing students understanding of Trigonometry concept?; and (2) how can cooperative, contextual, and sorogan (KKS) shadow-based enhance the students of class X of SMA 02 Diponegoro Wuluhan Jember in understanding Trigonometry concept?. Moreover, the aimsof this study are: (1) to describe how the implementation of using cooperative, contextual, and sorogan (KKS) shadow-based in enhancing students understanding of  Trigonometry concept; and (2) how  cooperative, contextual, and sorogan (KKS) shadow-based can enhance the students of class X of SMA 02 DiponegoroWuluhanJember in understanding Trigonometry concept. In conducting this research, the researcher used Classroom Action Research (CAR) as research method. The data analysis started when gathering the all required data intensively. The process of data analysis is based on the steps of data analysis as employed in qualitative inquiry; (1) data reduction, (2) presenting the data, and (3) data verification. The findings are: (a) the teacher delivered the material, the concept of Trygonometry such as sin, cos, and tangent, (b) the teacher divided students into several groups, (c) the students learnt together outside the class, (d) the students, by turns, submitted their work to the teacher (sorogan), (e) the teacher checked, revised, and comment their students’ work, (f) teacher evaluated the students’ work in the classroom, (h) teacher gave the test to measure the students’ understandings about this concept, the application of Trigonometry concept,  and lastly, (i) teacher rewarded the students. From the result of pre-interview with the students, it shows that they did not understand the application of Trigonometry. Whereas, the test result after applying KKS method indicated that the students’ scores are above The Criterion of Minimum Completeness (KKM).Keywords:  Cooperative, Contextual, Sorogan, Shadow-based, Trigonometry

Abstract

This pre-experimental design explored the effects of Islamic counselling approach on the students’ self-discipline at class VIIID, MTs. Al-Misri Rambipuji-Jember, in the academic year 2015/2016. The author employed one group pretest-posttest design. The methods adopted were questionnaire, interview, and documentation. The results of Z-test of the implementation of Islamic counselling approach after being calculated using Wilcoxon signed rank test at the .05 significance level showed -1.2135976which indicated that Z score was greater than Z-Table. It also indicated that H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected. Thus, it could be concluded that the implementation of Islamic counselling approach had a significant effect on the students’ self-discipline.Keyword: Islamic counseling, self discipline

Abstract

            Makalah ini berisi tentang pengembangan instrument untuk mengukur daya matematis siswa SMP. Instrumen yang dibuat harus valid dan reliable agar dapat digunakan untuk mengukur daya matematis siswa. Langkah-langkah pengembangan instrument ini meliputi: 1) studi pustaka mengenai daya matematis siswa, 2) membuat kisi-kisi soal tes daya matematis, 3) menyusun butir soal, 4) melakukan validasi isi, 5) revisi berdasarkan validasi isi, 6) melakukan uji coba tes pada siswa SMP, 7) analisis hasil uji coba yang terdiri dari validitas butir soal, reliabilitas, tingkat kesulitan, dan daya pembeda soal. Setelah dianalisis maka diperoleh hasil instrument tes daya matematis yang valid dan reliable untuk dapat digunakan dalam mengukur kemampuan daya matematis siswa SMP.Kata Kunci : pengembangan, daya matematis, pembelajaran matematika

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the ability of the 8th grade students in solving probabilistic problems. The probabilistic problems presented contain elements of uncertainty related to sample space, probability of an event, probability ratio, and conditional probability. The subjects of this study were the three groups of the 8th grade students with high, moderate and low mathematics skills. Data were collected through written test and interview. The results showed that low-ability student still think subjectively in responding to probabilistic problems. Meanwhile, moderate-ability student was at a transitional thinking stage between subjective and simple quantitative. High-ability student tended to think quantitative informally. Abstract

The primary aim of this present study is to investigate the effectiveness of reality approach to counselling on humans aggressive behavioral change. This is a counseling action research. This comprises of four phases namely acting, planning, observing, and reflecting. The subjects of this study were 36 students of SMAN 1 Jenggawah in the 2015/2016 academic year. Questionnaire and documentation are used to gather the data. In analysing the data, the researcher employs data reduction, data display and, lastly, conclusion drawing/verification. After treated by reality counceling services, the findings indicated that there was a steady decrease of verbal aggressive behavior displayed by the students of class XI IPS 2 at SMA Negeri 1 Jenggawah. In addition, the result also showed that the average of verbal aggressive behavior also fell. It could be shown from the score gained by the students, 67 – 94 of 60% overall score.Keywords: Aggressive Behavior, Reality counseling services, verbal aggressive behavior.

Abstract

The present study aimed to explore the students’ writing difficulties examined from the five dimensions and common errors faced by students in Essay Writing Course. Descriptive research with explanatory design was employed in this study to investigate the students’ writing difficulties which are analyzed from writing score and the sentence constructions in their cause-effect essay writing. This study purposively sampled 25 fourth semester students who join the Essay Writing Course. Essay Writing Tests (EWT) is used to get the data of students’ writing. The results of data collection were in the forms of students’ writing scores compared from each dimension (content, organization, grammar, vocabulary, and mechanics) and error analysis based on the word and sentential levels. The errors analyzed, then, were classified into error types. The results yielded that students’ writing dimensions are between 2-3 points based on the scoring rubric which means they are still in basic and below basic writers. In addition, the most error types analyzed covered capitalization, punctuation, sentence fragments, spelling, subject-verb agreement, run-on sentences as literal translation from Indonesian, word choices, nouns, preposition, verbs, adjective, articles, word order, verb tense, passive voice, possessive (‘s), and transition words. The result of study could be a basic data for the English teachers/lecturers to know the students’ writing difficulties thoroughly from each dimension of writing and error types and further to assist them to write better.
