Abstract

This research aims to describe learning difficulty and the factors causing of calculus multivariate difficulty in STKIP PGRI Pasuruan based on Taksonomi Bloom C1 till C4. The data are collected by using purposive sampling and obtained from written test, interview, questionnaire, and observation. The result showed that the highest grade of learning difficulties are application (C3) and analysis (C4) with an average 84% while there are 7 factors such as health, fatigue, lecturer interaction, learning instrument, media, calculus multivariate course, and motivation.Keywords: Learning difficulties, calculus multivariate

Abstract

Adapting the theory of Need Analysis as proposed by Dudley-Evans and St. John (1998), this present study explores the vocational students’ perceptions on their English language needs. Therefore, a descriptive survey was employed. One English teacher and the thirty-two students of SMK Asrama Pembina Masyarakat, Class XI, computer engineering and network (TKJ) program were voluntarily involved in this present study as research participants. The data with regard to the students’ subjective needs were gathered through questionnaire. Semi-structured interview was employed to record the data related to the English teachers’ perception toward the needs of research participants. The findings revealed there had been so many different perceptions with regard to the students’ needs. Moreover, this present study also discussed pedagogical implication on teaching-learning practices. Abstract

One of the theories developed in graph theory is the dominating set. Dominating set is a concept of determining the minimum point on the graph with the provision of a point as dominating set to reach the point that is around it. The smallest cardinality of the dominating set is called the domination number denoted by (G). Given graph G with point V and E side, let D be a subset of V. If each point of VD is adjacent at least one point from D, then D is said dominating set in graph G. Currently a lot of applications from dominating set, one of which is making irrigation fields. Wetland irrigation is needed to irrigate the rice fields so that the rice field is not short of water and can irrigate sufficiently, but it takes as little as possible for irrigation making in order to irrigate the rice field well. The research focuses on application of dominating set to rice field irrigation. Keywords: dominating sets, rice field irrigation

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between parents’ democratic parenting and students’ career decision-making ability at SMAN 3 Jember. This quantitative descriptive correlational research sampled 100 students out of 152 population of class XII student at SMAN 3 Jember using proportionate random sampling technique. From the results of the descriptive analysis, the average level of students’ career decision-making ability is included in the high category with a percentage of 70.94% and the average level of parents’ democratic parenting is included in the good category of 76.08%. The results of the correlation statistical analysis obtained the correlation coefficient r = 0.481 (r> 0.195) with a significance of p = 0.000 (p <0.05). The discussion in this study was directed to find out the applications of parents’ democratic parenting with career decision-making abilitiy in class XII of SMAN 3 Jember. Abstract

This research investigates the effect of the internet use on students’ learning achievement in MA Ma’arif Ambulu in the kingdom animalia, with respondents by two classes out of the same three classes. The sample was taken using purposive sampling technique. This study used a quasi eksperimental with a model nonequivalent control group design. The data were analyzed using independent sample t-test on the software spss v. 16.0, and Anates v4. to know the level of difficulty. The subjects of this research have the same capabilities, the biology subject to be taught, and the number of students in classroom. Experimental class used the internet as a source of learning and control class used a conventional method. According to the data analysis, it can be drawn the conclusion that there is significant effect of the use of internet on X grade students’ learning achievement at MA Ma’arif Ambulu. According to the data analysis Tcalculation is 7.594 by the experiment hypothesis using sig 0,00 value. Thus, we can conclude that hypothesis ha was accepted, meaning that there is siginificant effect of internet use on X grade students’ learning achievement because the value of Tcalculation  is 7.594. Abstract

This study reports a Research and Development (R&D) study which is aimed at developing educational product; mind mapping-assisted problem posing. The educational products developed in this study are lesson plan, students? consultation sheet, students? textbook, teacher?s book, and assessment sheet. This research and development (R&D) employed Four-D Model proposed by Thiagarajan. In this study, the researcher only employed three steps namely define, design, and development. It can be concluded that the developed educational products can be applied in the teaching-learning process in the classroom.Keywords: R&D, Problem Posing, Mind-Mapping, Educational Products.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations in the 8th Class of MTs. Al-Amin in science learning shows that teachers always use textbook as the main learning media. The selection of unvaried media makes the students’ interest in learning science low causes the low learning outcomes, as evidenced by the data about 80% shows that the value of students was ≤70 still below the minimum completeness criteria. This study aims to improve students’ learning outcomes and interests through EPUB extension of E-Book media. The type of research used is classroom action research (CAR). Based on the results of the study, students’ learning outcomes in the first cycle was 69 and it had increased to 76 in the second cycle. Students' interest was obtained by 61% in the first cycle and there was an increase to 79% in the second cycle. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an improvement in students’ interest and learning outcomes in the application of E-book media with EPUB extensions to the material of Motion and Living Beings. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve students’ learning outcomes and learning independence through the Reciprocal Teaching Model by applying ARCS motivational strategies. The research was conducted at SMK 1 Lumajang. The research subjects were students of class XI PMS 2 on 36 Productive Marketing Subjects. The study consisted of three cycles carried out on the 1st, 8th and 15th February 2018 even semester 2017/2018. Students’ independence during teaching and learning increases. Students' independence at a minimum of cycles I, II and III were respectively 17; 50; 50 and the averages were respectively 60.2; 83.3; 88.4. The results of formative test show an improvement in learning outcomes. Students’ learning outcomes from cycle I to cycle III occured a shift in the students’ score distribution. The lowest scores of cycle I, II, III were 50; 55 and 70. The highest scores of cycles I, II, III were 80; 90 and 100. Abstract

This research aims to investigate English written spelling ability of students, with understanding types of spelling error, and causes of spelling error to prevent students with such repetition of error. Dictation test is used to test students' spelling ability. The subject of this research is seventh grade students of MTs Baniy Kholiel. There were 23 participants and 6 students as sample. The research used descriptive qualitative and error analysis as the research design. The data were collected through dictation test, interview and content analysis. The results found eight types of spelling error, such as; letter add 4%, letter omit 18,05%, transposition letter 0,39%, doubling letter 2,50% , vowel substitution 18,70%, consonant substitution 19,36%, change of word 10%, and missing word 28%. Causes of spelling error are students' weakness on vocabulary mastery, influence of L1, weak in phonological knowledge in stressing letter, blending sound, deletion of sound, and identifying sound in word. Weak in morphological knowledge such as: singular and plural form, and article (a/an and the), and less appropriate instruction of spelling ability in English. Abstract

This study aims to describe the process and develop students’ worksheets (LKS) characterized by problem based learning to build the ability of mathematical reasoning. This development refers to using the 4D model by Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel (1974); they are define, design, and development. The validation results show that the students’ worksheets meet the valid, practical, and effective criteria. Students’ worksheets can build the mathematical reasoning ability shown by the percentage of students who are able to construct mathematical reasoning is 85.02%. In addition, the students’ responses and activities are in the category of either at least 60%.Key word: student worksheet, Problem Based Learning, mathematical reasoning
