Abstract

The economic performance of a country can be evaluated by looking at Gross Domestic Product, which is considered one of the most significant measurement. The factors that drive economic growth are Human Capital, Unemployment, FDI, and Labor Productivity. China, Japan, South Korea, India and Australia have important roles not only in their strategic location but also rapidly developing into regional economic centers in the world. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of Human Capital, Unemployment, FDI, Labor Productivity on Gross Domestic Product in these countries of China, Japan, South Korea, India and Australia using cross section data for 10 years from 2010 to 2019. The results show that Human Capital and FDI have a positive and significant effect on Gross Domestic Product. While other variables have no significant effect on Gross Domestic Product. These findings show that the key factors influencing economic growth are investments in education, training, human resource development, and foreign direct investment

Abstract

This research investigates the efficacy of sentiment classification models, specifically k-NN and DT algorithms, in the context of destination branding, with a focus on Labuan Bajo tourism. Utilizing the CRISP-DM (Cross-Industry Standard Process for Data Mining) framework, the study systematically navigates through all six stages, including business understanding, data understanding, data preparation, modeling, evaluation, and deployment, to analyze textual reviews and gauge public sentiments towards Labuan Bajo. The findings reveal that both k-NN and DT models exhibit high accuracy and precision, with k-NN achieving an average accuracy of 97.79% and DT 97.52%. While k-NN demonstrates commendable performance in recall, DT exhibits superior discriminative power, particularly when integrated with SMOTE, as evidenced by higher AUC values. The research underscores the importance of leveraging advanced machine learning techniques for sentiment analysis to inform destination branding strategies effectively. These insights provide valuable guidance for stakeholders in enhancing the branding and promotion of Labuan Bajo as a premier tourist destination, ultimately contributing to its sustainable development and global recognition

Abstract

This study investigates the performance of the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm in sentiment analysis tasks within the context of tourism destination branding, utilizing the Cross-Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) framework. Specifically, the research compares SVM performance with and without the Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) across various metrics including accuracy, precision, recall, F-measure, and Area Under the Curve (AUC). The analysis is conducted on a dataset comprising textual data extracted from "Wonderful Indonesia" promotional videos featuring Labuan Bajo. Results indicate that SVM without SMOTE achieves a slightly higher accuracy of 97.79% compared to 96.61% with SMOTE. However, a closer examination reveals that SVM without SMOTE accurately classifies all positive instances, while with SMOTE, one positive instance is misclassified as negative. Precision, recall, and F-measure scores for positive instances are also higher without SMOTE, indicating better performance in classifying positive sentiment

Abstract

This study employs Social Network Analysis (SNA) to investigate the structural characteristics, dynamics, and toxicity levels within a digital discourse ecosystem. Using a dataset comprising threaded discussions and chain networks, we analyze the interactions among users and quantify the presence of harmful language. The SNA reveals a network comprising 453 nodes and 330 edges, highlighting the intricate web of connections among users. Additionally, toxicity analysis uncovers nuanced patterns of toxicity, with scores ranging from 0.01129 to 0.05852 across different categories. Further examination of network metrics such as Density, Reciprocity, Centralization, and Modularity provides insights into the network's organization and communication dynamics. Our findings offer valuable insights for content moderation, community management, and promotional strategies in fostering a safer and more inclusive online environment. This research contributes to advancing knowledge in digital communication and provides a foundation for future studies exploring challenges within online communities

Abstract

Factors that influence the decision to purchase online thrift products. The aim of this research is to find out which factors are most prominent in influencing the decision to purchase online thrift products and the data collection method is to first conduct interviews with ten people who usually shop for thrift products online and after that identify them in the sample using a questionnaire and to method analysis uses factor analysis. The factor analysis used is exploratory factor analysis. Exploratory factor analysis or main component analysis is a factor analysis technique in which some of the factors that will be formed are like determinants that cannot be determined before the analysis is carried out. From the existing results, the twenty-six statements measured can be simplified or concluded that there are three factors that are more prominent and influence the decision to purchase online thrift products

Abstract

The large number of internet users, especially in Indonesia, provides a great opportunity for business people to create online shopping. This research aims to determine the influence of experiential marketing, trust, convenience, and digital marketing on purchasing decisions on the Shopee application. The population in this study are customers who use Shopee at Labuhanbatu University. The data source used is primary data. Data collection was carried out through distributing questionnaires with a sample size of 150 respondents. The analysis technique used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis technique using the SmartPLS tool. The research results show that experiential marketing, trust, convenience, and digital marketing simultaneously and partially have a significant influence on the purchasing decisions of Shopee users in Labuhanbatu. From this research, the most dominant variable is convenience at 0.495 or 49.5%. The R2 test results prove that the model is able to explain the dependent variable studied, namely the purchasing decision variable of 0.746 or 74.6%.

Abstract

This research seeks to reveal what entities are served by household accounting and the practices it commonly implements in society. This research uses the interview method to explore scientific facts related to marriage and household accounting in society on the basis of marriage law. This research is qualitative research which was initiated by determining the scientific framework regarding household habits related to accounting taken from the urf theory in Islamic law, then collecting information from informants consisting of housewives who play a public role to interesting information regarding household accounting that has been carried out so far. This research succeeded in reducing the weakness of household accounting in Indonesia due to the unclear concept of entities within the family household. Based on knowledge of marriage law, it turns out that a musyarakah entity has emerged which applies to inheritance as the main entity in household accounting. This research provides great value by providing insight into the great relevance of accounting practices to households. Moreover, by including marriage law into household accounting, household accounting is truly useful in maintaining the moral values of Sakinah mawaddah wa rohmah and most importantly maintaining the integrity of the household.

Abstract

Students' mathematical critical thinking skills have not been optimally developed. Skill development is done through PBL (Problem Base Learning) strategy. The study aims to determine the impact of PBL on critical thinking skills using an experimental design with a control group. Business students who were taking Business Mathematics courses in Bandung city became the population. The research sample was 107 first semester business students who were taking mathematics courses. The sample was randomly selected by class. The research instrument was developed by the researcher and was in the form of a test with moderate difficulty and good differentiating power, high validity and reliability. Data were analyzed by one and two-way ANOVA. The results of the study: (1) the critical thinking ability of students who learn through PBL is better than those who learn conventionally, (2) the critical thinking ability of students with high, medium and low initial abilities who learn through PBL is not better than those who learn conventionally, (3) the effect of learning on critical thinking ability does not depend on initial ability, (4) the attitude of students who learn through PBL is more positive than those who learn conventionally.
