Abstract

This research was conducted to examine macroeconomic factors as measured by inflation and interest rates on Return On Assets (ROA) of Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) for the period 2010 to 2020. This type of research uses a quantitative approach which focuses on hypothesis testing, the data used must be measurable, and will produce generalizable conclusions. The sample in this research is PT Bank BNI in 2010-2020. The data analysis technique used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis, where the data has been tested by testing classical assumptions including data normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation. During the observation period between 2010-2020, it shows that the research data is normally distributed. Based on data normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation tests, no variables were found that deviated from the classical assumptions. This shows that the available data meets the requirements using multiple linear regression. The results of this study indicate that the inflation and interest rate variables have no significant effect on PT Bank BNI's ROA in 2010-2020.

Abstract

In March 2020 WHO (WorId HeaIth Organization) announced that COVID-19 had become a gIobaI pandemic. The pandemic has made peopIe aware instantIy of the importance of medicines, medicaI devices and heaIth workers. This research wiII focus on Iooking at the Ieverage factor in heaIth cement companies Iisted on the Indonesia Stock Exchange before and within the Covid-19 pandemic. The period before the occurrence of the Covid-19 pandemic was in the 1st quarter of 2019 to the 1st quarter of 2020, whiIe the period when the Covid-19 pandemic occurred was carried out untiI the 1st quarter of 2021. The 1st quarter of 2020 wiII be used as the basis or point 0 in research because in March 2020 was decIared the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. During the COVID-19 pandemic, not a singIe cement company Iisted on the Indonesia Stock Exchange experienced an increase in financiaI performance. Trend anaIysis graphs of the company's average DAR, DER and TIER show a positive trend (increase). OveraII, aII cement companies studied experienced increased Ieverage or worsened conditions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Or in other words, the Ieverage factor for cement companies before the COVID-19 pandemic occurred was better than within the COVID-19 pandemic. That suggestion for this study is for cement companies to aIways pay attention to their Ieverage factor which in this study is proxied at DAR, DER, and TIER. Suggestions for other researchers should abIe in terms of completing research time and add other financiaI ratios.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the influence of ESG scores on firm performance. Furthermore, this study measures firm performance by assessing total asset turnover. The data collected consist of historical annual data spanning 5 years from companies listed in the Sri-Kehati index. This research employs regression analysis. It adopts a quantitative approach, where secondary data between 2019-2023 are obtained from databases such as Refinitiv Eikon, RTI Business, Sustainalytics, & MSCI ESG Ratings. The study finds that the relationship between ESG scores and total asset turnover is negative, indicating that an increase in ESG scores leads to less efficient asset utilization.
