Abstract

This study seeks to explore how service quality influences customer loyalty, with customer engagement positioned as a mediating variable. Adopting a quantitative research design, data were obtained from a survey of 105 respondents and analyzed using SmartPLS 3 with the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) technique. The findings reveal that service quality exerts a significant positive impact on both customer engagement (? = 0.527; p < 0.001) and customer loyalty (? = 0.348; p < 0.01). Additionally, customer engagement is shown to strongly predict customer loyalty (? = 0.509; p < 0.001) and serves as a pivotal mediator in the link between service quality and loyalty (? = 0.268; p < 0.001). These results suggest that, aside from improving the technical dimensions of service delivery, companies should prioritize cultivating meaningful interactions with customers to strengthen engagement, nurture emotional bonds, and secure sustainable loyalty. The findings show that service quality brings greater impact when combined with customer engagement strategies like personalization, open communication, and community-building. Managers can apply this to boost satisfaction while building loyalty that withstands competitors. This reinforces the novelty of treating engagement as the key link between service quality and long-term business success.

Abstract

Sustainable tourism is a strategic issue that is not only oriented towards economic growth, but also environmental sustainability and cultural preservation. This study aims to analyze the influence of memorable tourist experience (MTE) and service quality on tourist satisfaction and revisit intention. The method used is a mixed methods with a sequential explanatory design, combining quantitative analysis using SEM-PLS and a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews. The results show that MTE has a positive and significant effect on tourist satisfaction and revisit intention. Service quality is proven to have a significant effect on satisfaction, but not a significant effect on revisit intention. In addition, tourist satisfaction has a significant positive effect on revisit intention and acts as a mediating variable in both the relationship between MTE and service quality on revisit intention. Practically, the results of this study can be a reference for destination managers in strengthening the strategy for managing the Kebumen Geopark sustainably.

Abstract

The Higher Education Service Institutes (LLDIKTI) Region VII in Indonesia oversees quality assurance for 334 private higher education institutions (HEIs) in East Java. In 2019, it launched the MISHEQA system to support reporting of Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) implementation. However, a major issue arose: 26% of HEIs (88 out of 334 institutions) did not report their IQAS data through MISHEQA in 2021, showing a significant increase compared to 11% (35 out of 318 institutions) in 2020. This study assesses the effectiveness of MISHEQA from multiple stakeholder perspectives using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), examining how perceived usefulness and ease of use influenced user acceptance. A qualitative approach was used, combining in-depth interviews, surveys (82 respondents), and FGD with six HEIs, LLDIKTI officials, and quality assurance experts. Thematic analysis was conducted to identify patterns in user experience and system implementation. Three major findings emerged. First, MISHEQA was seen as useful by institutions in the yellow and red clusters, with the reporting and upload features noted as most beneficial. Second, some features were considered redundant: the IQAS document upload feature overlapped with the PPEPP cycle, and the Research and Community Service feature duplicated tracking already conducted via SINTA. Third, findings highlighted the importance of system integration and reducing redundancy in digital quality assurance tools. This study provided valuable feedback to LLDIKTI VII, contributing to the decision to discontinue MISHEQA, which was later replaced by the nationally managed 'Pelaporan SPMI' application by DIKTI (IQAS reporting application).

Abstract

The study examines the relationship between firm size, profitability, and leverage and firm value, while incorporating managerial ownership as a moderator in property and real estate companies, specifically the IDX. The research utilised a purposive sampling technique, which produced 145 sample observations from 29 companies within the property and real estate sector spanning 2020–2024. Data processing was conducted using the EViews 13 application. The investigation applied panel data regression techniques for analytical purposes and used the MRA (Moderated Regression Analysis) approach to examine moderating influences. The study indicates that firm size and profitability contribute positively and significantly to firm value, in contrast to leverage, which exerts an adverse and insignificant impact. Managerial ownership exhibits an apparent moderating effect on the relationship between company size and corporate value. At the same time, no such moderating effect is detected in the influence of profitability and leverage on firm value. These findings can serve as practical implications for company management and investors in formulating strategies to enhance firm value, while also enriching the academic literature as a foundation for future research

Abstract

This research examines how liquidity, firm size, and female directors affect the financial performance of industrial sector firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Using the dependent variable of return on assets (ROA), the analysis considered liquidity (CR) and firm size (measured by total assets), alongside the moderating role of female representation on boards directors. The findings indicate that liquidity has a positive and significant impact on financial performance, supporting agency theory, signalling theory, and resource dependence theory. Meanwhile, firm size has a positive but insignificant effect on financial performance. However, women's presence on boards does not moderate the relationship between liquidity and performance, primarily due to their limited representation, which renders their role symbolic rather than impactful. In contrast, women’s presence on boards amplifies the influence of firm size on performance, indicating that female directors improve decision-making quality, monitoring effectiveness, and resource access in larger firms. These findings emphasise the significance of financial health, operational scale, and inclusive governance as crucial drivers of corporate success in Indonesia's industrial sector

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the role of self-efficacy as a moderator variable in the influence of role conflict on employee engagement of Generation Z employees working in coffee shops in Pontianak City. This study aims to examine how self-efficacy functions as a moderator variable in the relationship between role conflict and employee engagement among Generation Z workers in coffee shops in Pontianak City. The background of this study is based on the phenomenon of the younger generation's increasing involvement in the workforce, especially in the coffee shop industry, which demands high flexibility and adaptability. This study employs a quantitative approach, involving a total of 201 respondents. The sampling technique employed the snowball sampling method, and data analysis was facilitated by WarpPLS software version 7.0. The study's results indicate that role conflict has a positive and significant impact on employee engagement. In addition, self-efficacy has been proven to strengthen the relationship between role conflict and employee engagement, such that individuals with higher levels of self-efficacy are still able to exhibit more optimal commitment, motivation, and involvement despite facing role conflict in the workplace. Theoretically, this study contributes to the understanding of self-efficacy as a moderating factor that enhances engagement under conditions of role conflict. Practically, the findings provide insights for coffee shop managers to design interventions that enhance Gen Z employees’ self-efficacy, thus improving engagement even in high-stress environments.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are one of the main pillars of regional economies that need to strengthen their competitiveness through effective marketing strategies such as event marketing and social media marketing. This study aims to analyze the effect of these two strategies on brand awareness of MSMEs in Ambon City. The research employed a quantitative method with an associative approach, involving 100 respondents who had attended MSME events or interacted with MSME promotions through social media. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the JASP software. The findings show that event marketing has a positive and significant effect on brand awareness (p < 0.05), as it creates real experiences and emotional connections between consumers and brands. Similarly, social media marketing also has a positive and significant effect on brand awareness (p < 0.05), particularly through consistent promotional activities and creative content on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. Both strategies complement each other in strengthening consumer recognition and recall of brands. These results highlight the importance of integrating offline and online marketing activities to expand market reach and build a strong brand image for MSMEs in society.

Abstract

Soto'o Village has great potential to be developed as a leading coastal tourism destination in South Nias. However, its management remains very limited and seems to be stagnant. As a result, Soto'o Village is less well-known as a tourist destination. This study aims to: (1) describe the importance of coastal tourism as a strategy to improve the local economy through a community-based and sustainable approach. (2) analyze the coastal tourism potential in Soto'o Village, including aspects of natural beauty, culture, and local wisdom; identify supporting and inhibiting factors for coastal tourism development in the village; and formulate a strategy for developing sustainable community-based coastal tourism, taking into account social, economic, and environmental aspects. This study used a qualitative approach with direct observation of tourism potential and existing infrastructure conditions. This was achieved through interviews and focus group discussions (FGDs). The results indicate that Soto'o Beach is worthy of being developed as a new coastal tourism destination in South Nias due to its natural and marine beauty. Village residents strongly support their village as a new tourist destination. The Soto'o village government, the Maniamolo sub-district head and his staff, academics, students, and community leaders agreed to encourage the South Nias Regency Government to support this initiative through sustainable infrastructure development in Soto'o village. It is hoped that coastal tourism activities will provide the potential to increase the income of Soto'o villagers
