Abstract

Training and mentoring activities on the preparation of simple cash-based financial reports and the development of innovations were carried out to support the "Ukhuwah Datu Nusantara" business group in Sambik Bangkol Village, Gangga District, North Lombok Regency. The purpose of this activity was to contribute knowledge and skills to business group members regarding a simple cash-based financial recording system that can be applied in managing their businesses. This training aims to improve the business group's ability to create effective and accurate financial reports, thereby assisting in business planning and decision-making. In addition, this activity also provided new insights regarding the development of innovations to increase the competitiveness of business groups in utilizing local potential, such as the cultivation of dates and Sacha Inchi nuts. The implementation of the activity was carried out through an approach of lectures, tutorials, and discussions relevant to the needs of the business group. With this method, it is hoped that the business group will be able to carry out correct cash-based recording and bookkeeping, and manage their business more independently. This activity is expected to not only increase the income and welfare of business group members, but also strengthen the local agro-based economy in the region. Another hope of this activity is as a means of carrying out community service, especially in the areas of financial management and small business innovation.

Abstract

Feed availability and quality remain major constraints in smallholder cattle production systems in West Nusa Tenggara, particularly during the dry season. Low-quality crop residues such as rice straw are characterized by high fiber fractions and low crude protein content, resulting in poor digestibility and limited animal performance. This community engagement program aimed to enhance the quality and utilization of local feed resources ( rice straw and field grass) through ammoniation and silage technologies at the Sinar Terang Farmer Group, Bagik Polak Village, West Lombok. Activities included technical training, demonstration plots, and assisted feed processing using urea-based ammoniation and anaerobic silage fermentation. Evaluation was conducted organoleptically, including assessment of color, aroma, texture, and animal acceptability. Ammoniated corn straw showed a change in color to brownish-yellow, softer texture, and mild ammonia odor without spoilage. Silage exhibited green-brown coloration, compact structure, and a fresh acidic smell indicative of lactic acid fermentation. Theoretical analysis based on recent scientific literature indicates that ammoniation improves fiber degradability by disrupting lignin–cellulose bonds and increases nitrogen availability for rumen microbes, potentially improving crude protein equivalent and digestibility. Silage fermentation stabilizes nutrients, reduces dry matter losses, and enhances palatability through lactic acid production. The program improved farmers’ technical capacity and increased awareness of sustainable feed preservation strategies. These technologies represent practical and scalable solutions for improving ruminant productivity under smallholder conditions

Abstract

This community service program was conducted in Anjani Village, East Lombok Regency, aiming to improve community knowledge, awareness, and behavioral change in household waste management through organic waste segregation using Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot-based bioconversion. The main problem identified was the low level of waste sorting practices at the household source, resulting in high volumes of unmanaged waste being directly disposed of in landfills. The implementation method included socialization activities, formation of a pilot project group consisting of 30 households, distribution of organic waste bins, and continuous assistance and monitoring of waste segregation practices. Collected organic waste was processed using BSF maggot bioconversion technology at the local 3R Waste Management Center (TPS 3R). The results showed an improvement in community knowledge and awareness regarding waste segregation, as well as positive behavioral changes toward more responsible environmental management. The program also enhanced the efficiency of waste processing at TPS 3R and reduced the amount of waste sent to the landfill. This study demonstrates that the integration of educational approaches and simple BSF-based bioconversion technology is effective in supporting sustainable community-based waste management systems.

Abstract

The implementation of this demonstration field aims to improve the knowledge and skills of farmers in the management of coconut plantations through the application of integrated ecological agriculture carried out on coconut plots by intensively cultivating various types of annual vegetable crops. The activities of the demonstration plots and accompaniment proceeded safely, smoothly, and pleasantly. It has been shown that the initially low level of participation and enthusiasm of the participants was able to increase after taking part in all successive accompaniment and demonstration activities. There is an increase in the knowledge and skills of farmers participating in demonstration plots to manage the soil of coconut plantations through the application of an integrated ecological land management system with intensive tillage, the use of organic fertilizer, and the cultivation of vegetable crops following a cycle and series planting pattern. Intensive management of coconut palm soils, in which several vegetable crops are cultivated, leads to improved growth and yield performance of the coconut palms, thereby increasing the farmers' profit and thus their income. The profit and income of farmers from growing mustard pak choy, red onions, chili, and tomatoes on coconut plantation areas is higher compared to growing long beans, red chili, sweet corn, and spinach. It is recommended to plant pak choi, small chili peppers, tomatoes, and shallots on the ground under coconut palms, using a cycle and row planting system and an application of organic fertilizer at a dose of 20-25 tons ha-1, supplemented with NPK Ponska 100-150 kg ha-1

Abstract

Bullying in early childhood may hinder children’s social, emotional, and psychological development; therefore, prevention strategies should be aligned with their learning characteristics. This community service program aimed to improve teachers’ ability to use Indonesian–German bilingual picture-story media and strengthen prosocial behavior among children at Al Ikhlas Taqwa Islamic Kindergarten, Medan. The program employed a Participatory Action Approach consisting of program socialization, teacher training, four weeks of classroom mentoring, and evaluation. Observations showed that teasing decreased by 50%, peer exclusion by 58%, and unwillingness to share by 53%. Teachers’ knowledge scores increased from 58 to 87, while children were able to use at least three German social expressions. Bilingual picture-story media effectively supported bullying prevention, promoted polite communication, and introduced a foreign language in an engaging manner. The program can be sustained through regular storytelling activities and the continued development of similar educational media.
