Abstract

This community service program is motivated by the low economic value added and limited marketing of products among groups of women fish vendors in Kanagarian Sungai Tunu Barat, Ranah Pesisir District, Pesisir Selatan Regency. The program aims to improve the partners’ knowledge and skills in processing marine products into frozen food, implementing digital marketing, and conducting simple financial record-keeping as an effort to strengthen creative economy activities based on micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The program was implemented under the Pengabdian Masyarakat Pemula (PMP) grant scheme of Kemendiktisaintek 2025 over the period of July–December 2025 with three site visits, using methods of socialization, training, mentoring, discussion, as well as monitoring and evaluation. Data were collected through observation, interviews, pre–post questionnaires, practical assessment sheets, and documentation, and were analyzed descriptively using qualitative and simple quantitative approaches. The results show an increase in participants’ knowledge regarding marine product processing and digital marketing; more than 70% of participants were able to produce fish and shrimp meatballs and nuggets according to the procedures, and approximately 80% of participants began to utilize social media to promote their products. The implementation of financial record-keeping enabled partners to start separating capital from profit, while those who actively produced and marketed processed products experienced an increase in daily income of around 30–40%. It is concluded that this integrated mentoring model is effective in enhancing the capacity of women fish vendors and has the potential to be replicated in other coastal communities with appropriate local contextualization.

Abstract

The causes of the low productivity of cocoa plants in the village of Rempek are that the plantations are planted with inferior seeds, the sanitary conditions of the plantations are poor, they receive little care, and the plants are old. Solutions to address these problems include: intensive care of the plantations, frequent, light, and simple pruning of the plants, integrated pest management, application of organic fertilizers, and rejuvenation of the plants through a polyclonal system. Another problem that needs to be addressed is the lack of knowledge and skills of farmers in managing cocoa plantations in the polyculture system. Furthermore, the entrepreneurial skills and agricultural knowledge of the farmers are also inadequate. Due to these issues, a training and support program has been established aimed at improving the knowledge and skills of farmers in managing cocoa plants in the polyclonal system. The execution of the training activities proceeded orderly, safely, and smoothly. The knowledge and skills of the participants in cultivating cocoa plants improved, as evidenced by the participation rate and the initially low enthusiasm, which could be raised to a high level after participating in the training. The management of cocoa plantations with a polyclone system and the intensive application of agronomic practices leads to a significantly higher total number of cocoa fruits per tree and a higher total weight of dry cocoa per tree compared to cocoa plantations that are only sporadically maintained and those that are not maintained as well as monoclonals.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance teacher professionalism through scientific article writing training in Mataram City. The program was motivated by the low academic writing competence among teachers, with only about 30% having prior publication experience. A total of 35 participants, consisting of 25 junior high school teachers and 10 pre-service teachers, were involved in activities that included socialization, intensive workshops, mentoring, and the use of supporting technologies such as Mendeley, Turnitin, and Google Classroom. Evaluation through pre-test and post-test demonstrated an improvement in participants’ scores from 67% to 78%, representing an 11% increase, with the highest achievement in academic ethics (85%). Furthermore, participants successfully developed article drafts, one of which was prepared for submission to a SINTA 4–accredited journal, and established a scientific writing community along with the production of a textbook Writing Educational Articles: From Ideas to Publication as additional outputs. These results indicate that practice-based training, personal mentoring, and the integration of technology are effective in improving academic literacy and teacher professionalism. The novelty of this program lies in combining academic literacy training with the creation of sustainable outputs (textbook and community), making it a replicable model for other regions with similar challenges.
