Abstract

This research examines the cultural value of folklore related to the naming of Pacalan Village, Plaosan District, Magetan Regency, which is related to the story of Ki Ageng Kembang Sore. As an influential ulama figure, Ki Ageng Kembang Sore is known for his contribution to the spread of Islam in this region, as well as his role in creating the cultural and social identity of the local community. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and ethnographic methods, this research explores the moral values, such as wisdom, courage and justice, contained in the story. Data collection is very dependent on the researcher's ability to understand the situation that is the focus of his research, obtained through in-depth interviews with community leaders and participatory observation, and supported by historical documentation. Analysis is carried out including reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions. This research found that the Ki Ageng Kembang Sore folklore plays an important role for the people of Pacalan Village in understanding cultural values ​​such as religious values ​​and respect for ancestors, religious values ​​and traditional values ​​in celebrating their local culture and history, which supports the preservation of oral traditions in facing the challenges of modernization. Abstract

This research focuses on finding the values ​​of character education in the short story entitled “Gus Jakfar” by KH A. Mustofa Bisri through a sociological study of literature. The use of sociological literary studies is intended to analyze social interactions in short stories which produce exemplary values ​​in the form of character education. The method used is descriptive qualitative (QD) with data collection techniques using library research, where data is obtained from literature in the form of short stories, articles and books. Next, the data was analyzed using the Miles and Huberman technique through three stages, namely "reduction, data presentation, and conclusions." The results obtained from this research found four values ​​of character education, including: religious, curious, friendly/communicative, and social care. In detail, there are three data on the value of religious character education in short stories, two data on the value of character education on curiosity, one data on the value of friendly/communicative character education, and one data on the value of character education in the form of social care.

Abstract

Women are often one of the victims marginalized by the upper class. Television reports, novels, and movie stories often portray women in positions they shouldn't have occupied. The purpose of this study is to examine the role of female characters in the film Be Quiet using a critical discourse analysis approach based on the theoretical framework developed by Sarah Mills. This study uses a descriptive approach in a qualitative method. The data collection technique in this study is the data transcription technique. The transcription data technique in this study was carried out by watching a short film titled Please Be Quiet on the Youtube channel repeatedly, recording all dialogues, and selecting data based on the focus of the research. The data of this research is divided into two categories, namely primary data and secondary data. Primary data in the form of text from film transcripts containing dialogues from the characters Putri, Sarah and Pak Benny; While secondary data is in the form of visual symbols contained in the film. Primary data were analyzed using Sara Mills' discourse analysis theory; while secondary data were analyzed using Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic theory. The results of the study show that in the film Please Be Quiet, women are sexually harassed, threatened, and injustice experienced by figures from superiors, underlining the existence of systematic power inequality in the workplace.

Abstract

This study aims to describe language variation and language characteristics in the content on @raflychaniago's TikTok account using Chaer and Agustina's sociolinguistic study of language variation theory as the main theory. The method used is a descriptive qualitative method. Data and data sources are in the form of speakers' oral speech containing words, phrases, sentences, and discourse in 4 video content on @raflychaniago's TikTok account. The data collection technique is the free listening technique and the advanced technique of note-taking. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman data analysis model, namely, researchers collect data, reduce data, present data, draw conclusions, and then verify. The results obtained were found three language variations, namely in terms of speakers consisting of 35 idiolect data; dialect in the form of Ngapak dialect; 3 chronolect data; and 3 types of sociolect, in terms of formality in the form of casual varieties, and in terms of means in the form of spoken language varieties. Researchers also found six characteristics of Rafly's language in his TikTok content.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the linguistic quality of postgraduate dissertations through interpersonal metafunctional analysis based on the Systemic Functional Linguistics and Appraisal Theory approaches. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with discourse analysis on three dissertations from Makassar State University. The results of the analysis indicate that students are able to apply mood, modality, and evaluative attitudes fairly well, particularly in maintaining objectivity and consistency in academic style. However, weaknesses were identified in the variation of epistemic modality expressions and evaluative lexical justifications. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening academic learning based on interpersonal functions to enable students to construct more credible and reflective arguments in scientific texts.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan makna nama tempat wisata serta kearifan lokal tempat wisata di Kabupaten Wonogiri. Metode yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data yang diperoleh meliputi data primer yang berasal dari dokumen Dinas Kepemudaan, Pariwisata, dan Olahraga Kabupaten Wonogiri, serta data sekunder yang diperoleh dari informan di tempat wisata tersebut. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan studi pustaka, wawancara, serta teknik catat dan teknik rekam. Jumlah data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu tiga puluh Sembilan nama tempat wisata yang terletak di Kabupaten Wonogiri dan dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan toponimi menggunakan teori Sudaryat. yang mencakup identifikasi, klasifikasi, interpretasi, deskripsi, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa makna nama tempat wisata dapat diklasifikasikan menjadi tiga aspek, yakni aspek perwujudan, aspek sosial, serta aspek budaya. Selain itu, nama-nama tempat wisata juga dianalisis berdasarkan kearifan lokal dalam pola pikir masyarakat, yang diklasifikasikan menjadi lima kategori: pelestarian alam, pelestarian sejarah, sarana spiritual, penghormatan kepada tokoh masyarakat, serta letak daerah. Kata kunci: Toponimi, kearifan lokal, tempat wisata   ABSTRACT This research aims to explain the meaning of the names of tourist attractions and the local wisdom of tourist attractions in Wonogiri Regency. The method applied in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data sources obtained include primary data derived from documents of the Wonogiri Regency Youth, Tourism and Sports Office, as well as secondary data obtained from informants at the tourist attraction. Data collection was carried out by literature study, interviews, and note and record techniques. The amount of data used in this research is thirty-nine names of tourist attractions in Wonogiri Regency and analyzed using the toponymy approach using Sudaryat's theory which includes identification, classification, interpretation, description, and conclusion. The results of the analysis show that the meaning of the names of tourist attractions can be classified into three aspects, namely instrumental aspects, social aspects, and cultural aspects. In addition, the names of tourist attractions are also analyzed based on local wisdom in the mindset of the community, which is classified into five categories: nature preservation, historical preservation, spiritual means, respect for community leaders, and regional location. Abstract

Critical reading is a process that involves a deep understanding of the information in the reading, but critical reading does not only include understanding the explicit information in the text, but also exploring the hidden meanings that may be hidden behind the words. The low critical reading skills of students are a problem that must be addressed immediately. This study aims to determine the implementation and effect of the PBL model on students' critical reading skills at SD Negeri 5 Kalipucang Kulon. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design. The subjects of the study consisted of 26 students in grade 3, which included 15 boys and 11 girls. The research design used was a one-group pretest and posttest design. The results showed a significance value (p-value) of the normality test for the pretest, which was 0.222, and the posttest was 0.168. In the homogeneity test, the significance value (p-value) is 0.060 > 0.05, which means the data is homogeneous, and the paired sample t-test obtained a significance value (p-value) of 0.001 < 0.05. This proves that the PBL model has a significant effect on students' critical reading skills before and after being given treatment at SD Negeri 5 Kalipucang Kulon.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran PjBL (Project Based Learning) berbantuan media vlog terhadap keterampilan berbicara peserta didik kelas V SDN Pesawahan Porong pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan desain studi kasus satu kali (One Shot Case Study). Sampel terdiri dari 15 peserta didik. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan tes lisan, lalu dianalisis menggunakan SPSS. Hasil menunjukkan nilai rata-rata 88,53, t hitung 7,341, dan signifikansi 0,000 (≤ 0,05), yang berarti PjBL secara signifikan meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara, kosakata, dan kepercayaan diri peserta didik. Secara keseluruhan penelitian ini menegaskan penggunaan model pembelajaran PjBL dengan bantuan media vlog dapat menjadi strategi pembelajaran yang efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara dan sikap percaya diri peserta didik di abad 21. Kata kunci: Project based learning, media vlog, keterampilan berbicara   ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the effect of the Project-Based Learning odel assisted by vlog media on the speaking skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Pesawahan Porong in the Indonesian language subject. Using a quantitative method with a One Shot Case Study design, the sample consisted of 15 students. Data were collected through observation and oral tests, and analyzed using SPSS. The results showed an average score of 88.53, a t-value of 7.341, and a significance level of 0.000 (≤ 0.05), indicating that PjBL significantly improved students' speaking skills, vocabulary usage and self-confidence. Overall, this study confirms that the use of the Project-Based Learning model supported by vlog media can be an effective instructional strategy to enhance students' speaking skills and self-confidence in the 21st century skills. Abstract

This study explores and analyzes the use of figurative language in the novel Dilan: He Was My Dilan in 1990 by Pidi Baiq through a stylistic approach. The main focus lies in identifying the types of tropes employed in the narrative text and examining their function in constructing meaning, character development, and aesthetic value in popular literature. A qualitative approach is applied using a descriptive-analytic method, with textual analysis of relevant quotations containing stylistic devices. The data are categorized into four major groups of figurative language: comparison, contradiction, association, and repetition. The analysis reveals that Pidi Baiq creatively utilizes various figures of speech such as metaphor, personification, hyperbole, irony, synecdoche, epizeuxis, and euphemism in his storytelling to produce a distinctive, emotional, and communicative narrative style. These stylistic elements not only enhance the literary aesthetics but also strengthen the identity of the main character as a poetic and humorous teenager, establishing intimacy with the target readers. The findings affirm that language in popular fiction carries high stylistic potential and is worthy of linguistic-literary investigation to enrich the understanding of language dynamics and meaning-making in contemporary literary works.

Abstract

The use of language variations for content creators is one of the choices to provide uniqueness in each content created. The choice of language is evident in several variations, including Indonesian, Sasak, code switching from Indonesian to regional languages, and the use of slang. This study aims to describe the various language variations that are the choice of content creators on Facebook social media. The method in this study is documentation and data transcription. The results of this study are to describe the languages ​​​​that are the choice of content creators on Facebook social media, as well as to describe the factors causing these language variations.
