Abstract

In a company, it is vital to understand the organizational climate which affects the achievement of organizational goals. This background encourages researchers to examine the relationship between organizational communication climate and employee performance at the West Java Communication and Information Office. Through a quantitative correlational study with a sample of 62 people. This study aims to determine the relationship between the trust of all members of the organization, joint decision-making, honesty, openness in downward communication, listening in upward communication, and attention to high-performance goals with functional tasks and behavioural tasks of the Java Communications and Informatics Service employees. West. The method used in this research is a quantitative correlational study. The results showed that all aspects of the organizational communication climate, including trust, shared decision making, honesty, openness in downward communication, listening in upward communication, and attention to high-performance goals, were significantly correlated with employee performance, including the following aspects: tasks functional and behavioural tasks. The highest correlation coefficient value is in the honesty aspect, with rs of 0.766. And the lowest correlation coefficient on the aspect of trust with rs of 0.303. The conclusion is that there is a significant relationship with a significant relationship between organizational communication climate and the performance of employees of the West Java Information and Communications Office.

Abstract

Banyumas Regency is an area that has begun to develop village potency with its attention in village tourism. The problem is in the lack of community's role on promoting tourism potential. Hyperlocal communication is a technology that can help communities to introduce their potency. Hyperlocal communication can be found on social media, social networks us such as whatsapp, search engines, or websites. This study tries to explore the use of hyperlocal communication for the promotion of Taman Lazuardi, and to see community participation in developing the potential of their village. The purpose of this research is to find out what hyperlocal communication media is used by the manager of Taman Desa Lazuardi and how the role of the community on promoting the potential of their village. This study uses qualitative methods and descriptive data analysis. From the data obtained through interviews and focus group discussions (FGD), the researchers found: (1) the media used for promotion of the Taman Desa Lazuardi is Instagram, (2) the manager's strategy in utilizing Instagram is to create interesting content, and collaborate with content creators to promote Taman Desa Lazuardi, and (3) community role enhancement in promoting village potential.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how much vaccine disinformation influence the anxiety level of Jakarta-Bali tourists by using Information Integration Theory. The method used is descriptive quantitative using primary and secondary data sources. The technique of collecting data by collecting samples was done by purposive sampling. Researchers used the stages of validity and reliability testing to test the questionnaire instrument that has been made. Stages of data analysis using correlation test, coefficient of determination test, regression test, and hypothesis test. The final result of this study shows that there is a correlation between variable X and variable Y which has a strong relationship with a correlation value of 0.656 while the rest can be influenced by other factors. Then for the results of the hypothesis test, namely H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, which means that there is an effect of disinformation on the COVID-19 vaccine on the anxiety of Jakarta-Bali tourists.

Abstract

The development of features on social media does not escape the risks, as happened with the close friends feature on Instagram. One of the problems that occurs is the leakage of information submitted, but the case of information leakage does not dampen the desire of individuals to continue to use it. Therefore, this study aims to find out how students experience managing and controlling their privacy information on the close friends feature and to find out why they use it. This study uses a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach to find out more deeply a person's experience of a phenomenon. Researchers collected data by conducting in-depth interviews with 7 (seven) UPN Veteran Jakarta students from various faculties and produced 7 (seven) themes in the student experience using the close friend feature on Instagram. The data analysis techniques used in this study include the collection of life experiences, horizontalization, significant statements, thematic analysis, and essence statements. The results of this study found that there was a motive made by UPN Veteran Jakarta students in using the close friend feature on Instagram, namely they felt free to express themselves so they were comfortable in sharing information about themselves. In addition, they are also not fixated on the displayed image or other users' responses to their uploads.

Abstract

In the momentum of picking up Covid-19 patients, there was a relatively short communication process in an effort to provide mutual support. Patients' families often experience an ironic phenomenon, on the one hand they must persuade the patient to be willing to be picked up, on the other hand it is impossible to refuse the arrival of an ambulance. On the other hand, AGD nurses are required to have effective impression management skills in motivating patients. The purpose of the study was to find out the dramaturgy of the family of Covid-19 patients and AGD (Emergency Ambulance) nurses at the time of pickup with a qualitative approach with the phenomenological method. The results show that on the family backstage, they convince each other that picking up patients is the most appropriate thing, because covid-19 can be contagious and deadly. On the front stage, they asked nurses to provide guarantees of recovery and information as soon as possible when patients could be visited. As for the backstage of the AGD nurses, they coordinate with each other among the pick-up team members to consistently implement the communication protocol, which contains strategic actions and communicative actions towards patients and their families. Meanwhile, on the front stage, nurses build sympathetic, empathetic and altruistic meanings, that in tackling COVID-19, a coordinating role is needed at all levels of communication.

Abstract

This study focuses on government communication strategy of Mayor’s Tegal city to mitigating covid-19 pandemic. This research was conducted to identify and describe the communication strategy that used Dedy Yon Supriyono to leads covid-19 pandemic mitigation. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study methodology through in-depth interviews as the primary data collection method. The theory used in this study is communication strategy. The results of this study indicate that communication strategy of the Tegal Mayor's administration has been effective starting from the research, planning, implementation, evaluation, to reporting stages. All leading sectors have been maximal in coordinating in covid-19 pandemic mitigation based on Peraturan Daerah Nomor 10 Tahun 2020 tentang Penanggulangan Corona Virus Disease 2019 and supported with various media such as websites and instagram.

Abstract

Integration and efforts to include women journalists are increasing as a result of advocating for a more inclusive media, including in sports desk. However sports journalist broadcasters are limited, as seen from the way women athletes are covered at various levels, the representation of athletes who get the spotlight as well as the focus on sports industry issues that get coverage priority. This literature review uses the scoping literature review method - a literature discussion on women sports journalists - and Bourdieu's framework to understand sports journalism as doxa and its influence on women journalists and other women workers in sports journalism. Experiences and decision making of women journalists were analyzed with the perspective of Gender Psychology based on previous researches from Journalism, Communication, Sports and Media Studies. The literature analysis resulted in a mapping of the various issues faced by women sports journalists, as well as describing the dynamics and identity negotiations that were experienced. The existence of women sports journalists influences the way sports desk works, the issues and focus of their work, their writing styles, and their strategies in the workplace and sports media as institutions. Women sports journalists create a space to work through their daily lives.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the case of user privacy data leaks experienced by Tokopedia in 2020. This study aims to see the effect of information about the leakage of user data experienced by Tokopedia on the behavior of the audience studied using attribution theory. The method used in this research is quantitative explanatory to explain the causal relationship between variables. Information data leakage is measured by its quality value and consists of four characteristics, namely accurate, timeless, relevant, and complete, while audience behavior is measured by attribution theory based on internal factors and external factors, namely paying attention to the principle of consensus, the principle of consistency and the principle of distinctiveness. The results of this study explain that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected so that the quality of information about Tokopedia user data leakage affects people's behavior. Information about the leakage of Tokopedia user data received by the public is of good quality, and internal factors influence the audience's behavior. The conclusion of this study explains that there is an influence between the leakage of Tokopedia user data and the behavior of the audience with a value of 0.341 at a low level of relationship.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced all lecture activities to be carried out online, including organizational activities. This has hampered many organizations in carrying out their work programs. This research was conducted to determine the obstacles that occur in organizational communication at HIMAIKOM FISIP UPN Veteran Jakarta during the Distance Learning period using Wursanto's concept of organizational communication barriers, namely; technical barriers, semantic barriers, behavioral barriers, structural barriers, distance barriers, and background barriers. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach and uses primary and secondary data sources. The data collection technique was carried out by Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in which the informants were selected by purposive sampling technique. The data obtained were then analyzed through four stages of data analysis, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the six organizational communication barriers in HIMAIKOM are found according to the types of organizational communication barriers according to Wursanto. In addition, there are two new findings which are also factors that hinder organizational communication, namely gender differences and closeness between members.

Abstract

This Nike ad ‘What will they say about you?’ version, focus on female athletes who wear hijab so that they can carry out sports activities comfortably and do not need to think about the opinions of those around them who think that women wearing hijab are inappropriate to be athletes or do activities that are considered too masculine. This study aims to find and understand the meaning of the Nike ad ‘What will they say about you?’ version, through Roland Barthes's theory of Semiotics. This research used the qualitative interpretative method. The results of the study indicate that in the advertisement there are signs that have meaning directly or indirectly for the audience. Nike wants to show motivation and enthusiasm to all women, especially athletes who wear the hijab or to keep doing the sports they want without having to fear being judged by their social environment. With the tagline used in this advertising campaign, namely "Believe in More", Nike would like to say that, not all views, responses, or opinions against athletes are all bad and negative.
