Abstract

Media plays an important role as an actor to disseminate information to the public. Without the mass media, the government will be very difficult to reach people quickly. Therefore, the presence of media becomes one of the right channel used as a tool by the government in disseminating information. Through packaging positive content in the media, it is expected to also influence the thoughts and actions of people for social change in achieving development goals

Abstract

The influence of the Prophet Muhammad as the bearer of the Islamic message is known plural. It is also about his prophetic and apostolic. The thing that is rarely discussed is Muhammad's position as a political communicator. In this case Muhammad is certainly an actor in the process of political communication in Medina. History calls the long journey of forming the Medina State under the reign of Muhammad starting from zero to become an area that was calculated at that time. It is not excessive for Muhammad to be called as a political actor in the establishment of Medina as well as political communicator in the government of Medina.  In political communication, it is mentioned that political actors can form a public opinion, which then becomes consensus and mutually agreed. Thus, Muhammad has fulfilled that element in his leadership over Medina. In the process of political communication, there are important elements such as political communicators, messages delivered, and targets to the political communication effect that made Muhammad in Medina. The interesting thing for studied is Muhammad's political communication strategy. Where is as a political communicator, Muhammad was able to unite the heterogeneity and pluralism of the community who then agreed and want to be under his leadership in Medina. This paper is a literature study with an analytical descriptive approach as a way of describing and explaining historical facts relating to the role of Muhammad as a political communicator. From the results of the research, it was found that Muhammad had a brilliant political communication strategy. These strategies are: 1) The credibility of political communicators; 2) Create culture together and the elimination of racism as a political message; 3) Medina Charter as a target of political communication; 4) The practice of negotiation in political communication; 5) Selection of appropriate media in political communication. The entire political communication strategy of Muhammad can be seen from the elements of political communication. The author mentions that the Prophet Muhammad as the leader of Medina at that time has a communication strategy that goes far beyond the existing contemporary theory.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana media onlineKompas.com dan Republika Online mengkonstruksi pemberitaan tentang CapresPrabowo Subianto & Aburizal Bakrie jelang Pemilu Presiden 2014, edisi beritabulan Oktober 2013. Objek penelitian ini adalah pemberitaan mengenai CapresPrabowo Subianto & Aburizal Bakrie terkait Pemilu Presiden tahun 2014 nanti.Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Analisis Framing dari Robert N.Entman yang mempunyai empat elemen, Define Problems, Diagnose Causes,Make Moral Judgement dan Treatment Recommendation. Paradigma penelitian iniadalah paradigma konstruktivisme dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptifkualitatif. Hasil penelitian Kompas.com dalam pemberitaannya tentang CapresPrabowo Subianto mengangkat isu tentang persaingan antara Prabowo denganJokowi dalam rivalitas beberapa hasil survei. Prabowo menang dalam hasil surveiPolitical Weather Station (PWS) dan Lingkar Survei Mahasiswa Indonesia(LSMI), Prabowo unggul dalam hal ketahanan nasional dan tegas. Sedangkanpada Republika Online mengangkat isu tentang persaingan antara Prabowodengan Jokowi dalam rivalitas beberapa aksi. Prabowo butuh pasangan wapresyang dekat dengan rakyat guna menandingi Jokowi, karena Jokowi lebih ungguldalam elektabilitas dan popularitas capres.Kompas.com dalam pemberitaanyatentang Capres Aburizal Bakrie mengangkat isu rendahnya elektabilitas Ical, tapitak pengaruhi pencapresannya. Golkar menilai tidak naiknya elektabilitas Icalsecara signifikan dianggap sebagai hal yang wajar dan tetap mendukung Icalsebagai capresnya. Sedangkan pada Republika Online juga mengangkat isurendahnya elektabilitas Ical dan sangat mempengaruhi pencapresannya. Icaldianggap tak mampu mendongkrak popularitas Partai Golkar, sehingga Golkarharus mengevaluasi kembali pencapresan Ical dan menggelar konvensi capres.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the representation of Parangtritis women in the Siti movie. Coastal women plays an important role in economic activities on the land. The system of division of labor in coastal communities requires women to be involved in the public sphere. Through the semiotic method of Roland Barthes, this research reveals the repre- sentation of coastal women through the four shots shown. There are three findings in this study. First, coastal women are inseparable from the devotion to the husband and family. Second, helping their husband's income in the public space. Third, self helplessness which resulted in limited area of work in public space. These three findings are not a research effort to generalize the portraits of coastal women. With the dual roles, eventually coastal women cannot escape from their domestic responsibilities due to economic distress.

Abstract

Background of research is there is a rebranding of URBANrkm 99.5 FM become Smooth Radio who have very different characteristics that caused by changing ownership. Rebranding makes the company should face all of external stakeholder’s respons and doing all steps implementations of any changes to create the company’s new image. The theory used is communication, public relations, implementation, rebranding and the concept definitions of image. Research Methode used is qualitative approuch with descriptive as the type of research. Key informan of this research is the Director Program of URBANrkm 99.5 FM Radio and Smooth Radio, with three informants, marketing communications of Smooth Radio, and two loyal listener of URBANrkm 99.5 FM Radio. Research Result, in making program and public relation’s activities on rebranding phase, Smooth Radio use five steps of implementation that appropriate with Wheelen and Hunger’s theory, there are also some change that done by Smooth Radio to create their new image. Conclusion, URBANrkm 99.5 FM Radio succesed to maintain their image on external stakeholder’s eyes when their crisis time through their public relation’s activities that they done. In another hand, Smooth Radio also succesed to show their image through all implementation’s step they done and by changing their identity with some evaluation that should to be their attention.

Abstract

The development of technology always produces both positive and negativeimpacts, as well as the use of mobile phones in public. Today, short messageservices, known better as SMS, as a functionof mobile phones has been quitepopular to some people in rural areas in West Java.This paper describes the useof SMS in mobile phoneinthe process ofinformation seeking for health informationand services for community. This research was conducted through descriptiveapproach with in-depth interview, observation and literature study.The resultsshows that the development of SMS has become the channelfor informationseeking onhealth information and services. This system is usefull and hasbeendevelopedby the government and stakeholders engaged in public health toprovidethe information for health services. In general, SMS usage is consideredsuccessful and needs to be expanded by both government and non-governmentalorganizations due to several purposes.Firstly, the use of mobile phones hasbecome part of information seekingin rural communities.Secondly, the use of SMSin supplying health information and services can provide a faster informationsystem related to hospital services and patient’s condition. On the top of that, thedissemination of health information and services through SMS also providesopportunities for better communication between healthcare providers and patientin more deepen and intensive way.

Abstract

Ekonomi politik media adalah kajian yang muncul atas pertimbangan bahwa keberadaanmedia dalam beragam faktor seperti kepemilikan, diversity media dan isi, pengelolaan media,konsumsi media, dan lain-lain mempunyai keterkaitan secara integral dengan politik danekonomi. Istilah “ekonomi politik media” merupakan istilah generik yang digunakan secaraluas untuk mengkombinasikan kerangka teoritik komunikasi dengan kerangka teoritik politikdan ekonomi. Keterikatan pada dimensi ekonomi dan politik menjadikan informasi menjadiajang yang rentan terhadap pengaruh keduanya. Sebagai entitas yang dikonstruksi media, apayang disebut sebagai ’informasi’ acapkali merepresentasikan kepentingan ekonomi sekaliguspolitik tertentu.

Abstract

This study aims to determine people's understanding of information and political messages that are scattered in the digital world. The development of digital technology has brought about very significant changes in the world of communication today, in connection with information obtained by the public. The spread of information on digital media cannot be dammed, any information can be obtained easily, anyone can access that information without any limitations. The information is presented from very simple to complex, from educating information to information that spreads hatred easily available. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. The results of this study indicate that there is still a very low ability of the community to choose and distinguish between correct political information and false information or "hoaxes". The audience thinks, every information that is available is useful information, although sometimes the information is false information or "hoaxes".

Abstract

To prevent unwanted social danger of the association of children outside the home, some parents build a specific strategy in raising children, to raise children in a social environment that is controlled parent.To limit the social pollution, parents in this category strictly limiting social affiliation or participation of children in social environments outside the home, or create social isolation of children while the formation of self-concept and character progress. This study uses a phenomenological approach, explore the everyday experience of informants about the concept of social isolation that they do to the child, during the formation of character and self-concept of children, or as it is called Berger and Luckmann during primary socialization. The results showed that the primary socialization period is a crucial moment in the formation of self-concept and character of a child. During this period, the social isolation and protection of the parents needs to be done so that the child can absorb the meanings and values espoused parents, without much intervention from other people. After the meanings and values of parents are fully internalized in the child, then the children are introduced to the wider social environment outside the protection of the parents. Social isolation and protection of the parents will be removed when the child has been able to take decisions in accordance with the values expected of parents and able to protect himself. This belief is making your child through primary socialization period longer than the other children, but the parents who developed this concept believe this strategy will create the self concept and character of the child becomes stronger against the influence of social pollution.

Abstract

Hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa Program kegiatan CSR yang diadakan EMP diantaranya yaituPemberian Makanan Tambahan sebagai program kesehatan dan Pembuatan Pangan PengolahanSagu sebagai program pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat. Pemberian makanan tambahankegiatannya adalah memberikan makanan tambahan berupa vitamin C, susu, kue, bubur kacanghijau, serta produk olahan sagu , pemeriksaan kesehatan anak dan pendataan. Pembuatan panganolahan sagu kegiatannya adalah pelatihan pembuatan makanan dari sagu, dan pemasaran hasilpembuatan olahan sagu. Program kegiatan ini termasuk dalam Responsible Business Practicekarena perusahaan melaksanakan aktivitas bisnis melampaui yang diwajibkan oleh hukum bukan hanyamelakukan tanggung jawab sosial tapi berkelanjutan seperti menumbuhkan pelaku usaha baru di luarperusahaan serta melaksanakan investasi yang mendukung kegiatan sosial dengan tujuanmeningkatkan kesejahteraan komunitas dan memelihara lingkungan hidup seperti menurunkanangka kematian pada ibu hamil dan balita dengan pemberian makanan tambahan kepada balita, danibu hamil. Simpulan Kegiatan CSR EMP Malacca Strait S.A dalam meningkatkan citra perusahaanmelalui Responsible Business Practice, menarik perhatian masyarakat dan sesuai dengan tujuanperusahaan dan harapan masyarakat, dapat bekerjasama dan disukai masyarakat, serta cerdas dalammelihat peluang bisnis.Kata Kunci: Public Relations, CSR , Corporate Image
