Abstract

Student-centered learning is very essential in producing graduates who have good competencies and are ready to work. As prospective teacher, Matematics Education students are expected to have competence in evaluating the implementation of learning in the classroom. This research aims to determine the increase in the ability to understand the concept of instrument analysis in the Mathematics Learning Evaluation course after using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) method. The research was conducted using the classroom action research method. The result show that in the cognitive domain, students can determine the correct formula according to the type of item on the instrument. In the intrapersonal domain, the search for real knowledge and various problems as well as the application of knowledge that is not limited only to theory can increase the development of students’ affection. As for teh interpersonal domain, students are taught to educate themselves to do self regulationt and to be cohesive among them to create a solid team work. Working on team also will improce student leadership. The increase in the ability to understand the concept of instrument analysis shows that the PjBL method can be used in other concepts in the Mathematics Learning Evaluation course, or in other courses.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Cooperative Script learning model combined with Wordwall online games on improving the mathematical communication skills and interests of junior high school students. The research was conducted quantitatively with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of 35 students in class VIIA and 36 students in class VIIIB who were chosen randomly. The experimental group was given learning using Cooperative Script with the Wordwall games, while the control group used the conventional methods. The instruments used include mathematical communication ability tests and student learning interest questionnaires. Interest questionnaire data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while mathematical communication ability test data were analyzed using inferential statistics consisting of prerequisite tests, hypothesis testing, n-gain tests, and correlation tests. The results showed that students' learning interest in the experimental group experienced a higher increase compared to the control group. In addition, the use of the Cooperative Script learning model with Wordwall online games significantly improves students' mathematical communication skills compared to conventional methods. The results of the R square determination coefficient test also show that the Cooperative Script learning model with the online game Wordwall has a 60% influence on students’ mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

This study maps the direction and trends of research related to the development of Android-based learning media containing ethnomathematics in mathematics learning. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the PRISMA protocol. Fourteen articles that had been selected according to the specified characteristics were analyzed. The results indicate four development models used: ADDIE, Borg and Gall, Procedural, and 4D. There was an increase in research activity in 2021, and geometry (specifically flat-sided solids) became the main focus of research. Furthermore, the study demonstrated that the integration of technology, culture, and material characteristics has an influence on strengthening the meaningfulness of learning. This research needs to followed up by adapting materials and technology to the needs and available devices.

Abstract

The study aims to analyze the improvement of students’ mathematical understanding and self-efficacy after learning with the PACE model. This study used a quasi-experimental method, with a population of all students from ten eighth-grade students of a junior high school in Bandung in the 2024/2025 academic year. The sample was determined purposively by two classes. Data collection was carried out using test instruments and questionnaires. Data analysis used a t-test on test results and descriptive analysis on self-efficacy scores. The results showed that the improvement of mathematical understanding of students who received learning with the PACE model was better than students who learned in conventional classes. This can be seen from the N-Gain value in the experimental class of 0.304 (medium category) and the N-Gain in the control class of 0.124 (low category). The level of self-efficacy of students in the experimental class increased by 66.86 after learning with the PACE model. Thus, the PACE model is said to be effective in improving students’ mathematical understanding and self-efficacy. Further research is expected to identify the relationship between variables.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of eleventh-grade students on matrices through the application of the Problem-Based Learning model with the Teaching at the Right Level approach. The method used was Classroom Action Research, which was implemented in two cycles. Each cycle included planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed that in cycle 1, the average student score was 72.4, with a learning completion rate of 53.3%, which did not meet the Minimum Completion Criteria. The main obstacles faced were the imbalance of roles within the group, the lack of participation of low-ability students, and weak mentoring strategies. In cycle 2, after improvements were made through the provision of scaffolding, more structured group management, and task differentiation in the Student Worksheet, there was an increase in the average score to 81.2 with a learning completion rate of 86.7%. In addition, the classroom atmosphere became more collaborative and inclusive, and there was an increase in student confidence and involvement in the learning process. This integration concept can be tested on other materials to determine its effectiveness

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine significant differences in mathematical problem-solving abilities between students participating in STEAM-based learning and students participating in conventional learning in grade ten of SMA Negeri 2 Patra Nusa. This study used a quantitative quasi-experimental approach with a posttest-only control group design. The population was all 113 grade ten students of SMA Negeri 2 Patra Nusa Manyak Payed in the 2024/2025 academic year. Sampling was conducted using simple random sampling, with class X MIA 1 as an experimental class and class X MIA 2 as the control class, each with 25 students. The research instrument was a descriptive test on quadratic functions. The results of the independent sample t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the mathematical problem-solving abilities of students in the experimental and control classes. This research can be expanded by examining the effect of STEAM-based learning on other elements of the mathematical process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of mathematics learning using the PBL model with a deep learning approach based on Grebeg Syawal local wisdom on students’ mathematical creativity. The study was conducted in a quasi-experimental framework with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 36 students of class VIII-E of SMPN 3 Waru Sidoarjo. The instrument used was a test covering four indicators of creativity: fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The deep learning approach was implemented through three aspects: meaningful learning, mindful learning, and joyful learning. Data analysis was performed using a paired t-test, with data normality tested using the Shapiro-Wilk test. The results showed a significant effect of the Grebeg Syawal local wisdom-based deep learning approach on improving students' mathematical creativity. To increase data validity and obtain a more comprehensive picture of the influence of the Grebeg Syawal local wisdom-based deep learning approach, future research could use an experimental design involving a balanced control and experimental group, or on a broader scale.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of implementing the CORE learning model with the CRT approach on problem-solving abilities from a self-regulated learning perspective. This study was conducted as a quasi-experimental method with a 2×3 factorial design. The population included all eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Semin in the 2025/2026 academic year, with 32 students from classes VIII D and VIII A selected using cluster random sampling. Data were obtained through problem-solving ability tests, SRL questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis was performed using a two-way ANOVA with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that implementing the CORE learning model with the CRT approach improved problem-solving abilities, the level of self-regulated learning had a positive effect on problem-solving abilities, and the effect of the learning model on problem-solving abilities was independent of self-regulated learning, and vice versa. The CORE learning model with the CRT approach can be implemented and modified using technology-based learning media to improve problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

Understanding concepts is a fundamental requirement for every student to be able to apply those concepts in other processes. Base Ten Block is a learning medium used to introduce integers and their operations. This research was conducted in accordance with the problem found in the research area, namely, students’ lack of understanding of the concept of integer operations. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effectiveness of Base Ten Block media in improving students’ understanding of integer operations in grade VII at MTs Sunan Ampel Patoman. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. Respondents were 32 seventh-grade students selected using purposive and saturated sampling techniques. The test, a previously validated instrument, was used in data collection. Data were obtained in the form of initial test results (teacher documentation before treatment) and final test results. Data were analyzed using a z-test after determining normality. The analysis results show that the percentage of achievement of the KKTP (qualifying standards) in the final test was higher than in the initial test. Hypothesis testing also showed a significant difference between the test results. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Base Ten Block media is effective in improving understanding of the concept of integer operations. The limited supporting research suggests that this research could be repeated at the junior high school level with different respondents and research areas.
