Abstract

Background: individual or group. According to the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW), 84% of Indonesian children experience bullying in schools. Despite the prevalence, there is a lack of specific research investigating the relationship between respondent characteristics and bullying behavior among adolescents. This study aims to explore the association between respondent characteristics and bullying behavior among students at SMPN 8 Bukittinggi in 2023. Methods: This quantitative study employs an analytical descriptive approach with a cross-sectional design conducted in October 2023, involving a population of 491 students. Sample selection utilized purposive sampling, resulting in 83 respondents. Data collection was performed through questionnaires, and data analysis included univariate and bivariate analyses. Results: Findings reveal that out of 38 male respondents, 23 (60.5%) engaged in bullying while 15 (39.5%) did not. Regarding siblings, out of 80 respondents with more than one sibling, 38 (47.5%) engaged in bullying compared to 42 (52.5%) who did not. Among 82 adolescents from middle-income families, 38 (46.3%) were involved in bullying while 44 (53.7%) were not. Gender exhibited a significant association with bullying behavior (P value = 0.040 ≤ α), whereas no significant relationships were found between the number of siblings (P value = 1.000 > α) or economic status (P value = 0.470 > α) and bullying behavior. Conclusion: Hence, it is recommended for schools to enhance education and counseling efforts concerning bullying.

Abstract

Background: The incidence of anemia in adolescents is still very high, namely above 20%, 26.8% in children aged 5 to 14 years, 32% in children aged 15 to 24 years. This high incidence of anemia is closely related to compliance in consuming Blood Supplement Tablets (TTD). The aim of the research is to determine the analysis of factors in the incidence of nutritional anemia in young women. Methods: This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional research design. The research population was Sriwijaya Middle School students in Palembang, South Sumatra, with a sampling technique, namely a total population of 25 respondents. The measuring method used was an interview with the measuring instrument used was an open questionnaire about anemia in adolescents. Data analysis was carried out using the univariate analysis method to determine the frequency distribution of the variables studied, and the relationship between variables was carried out using bivariate analysis using the chi-square method. Results: The results of the research show that there is a significant relationship between the variables Knowledge p value 0.005, Nutrition p value 0.005 and maternal education level p value 0.049 with the incidence of nutritional anemia in young women at Sriwijaya Middle School in 2023. In the variables Attitude and menstrual patterns it is known that the p value is >0.05 which This means that there is no significant relationship with the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls. Conclusion: Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is still low exposure to information regarding the risk of anemia, especially among adolescent girls, so there is a need for active health promotion regarding the risk of stunting in adolescent girls, especially the incidence of nutritional anemia.

Abstract

Background: Clinical learning has a very important role in determining the quality of nursing students' learning achievements, because clinical knowledge and skills are the main foundation in clinical education. Nursing students are expected to have competency in the knowledge and skills to provide high quality and safe nursing care to patients, however there are still many nursing students who feel they are not ready to become nurses in the future because they feel they are not yet competent in carrying out nursing care to patients. The aim of the research is to see the correlation between self-efficacy and the clinical competence of Nurse Professional Education students. Methods: This research used correlation research and the sample in this research were clinical practice students of the Nursing Professional Education who had undergone 2 clinical learning stages in semester 1 which were taken using a total sampling technique. Data analysis using SmartPLS. Results: From the research results, it was found that self-efficacy had a positive effect on clinical competence (P Value 0.000, T Statistics 14.273, sample mean 0.686). Self-efficacy influences clinical competence by 46.3% (R Square 0.463), the remainder is influenced by other factors not studied. Conclusion: These findings emphasize the importance of self-efficacy in forming and improving students' clinical competence. By having high self-confidence in their abilities, students are more likely to be able to apply their knowledge and skills effectively in clinical practice.

Abstract

Background: Patient safety is now a global issue due to the large number of reports regarding claims for medical errors that occur to patients. This research aims to determine the relationship between nurses' knowledge in implementing the SOP for administering high alert medications and the incidence of medication errors at Raja Ahmad Tabib Regional Hospital. Methods: This type of research is quantitative descriptive with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling method was a total sampling of 103 respondents. Data collection methods and tools used a questionnaire with 16 statement items related to standards for administering High Alert medication. Data analysis was carried out using the chi-square test. Results: The results of research using univariate analysis show that the level of knowledge of nurses in carrying out SOPs for administering high alert medications is in the high category, namely 94.2% and for medication error incidents with a percentage of 1%. Bivariate analysis showed significant results on nurses' knowledge in carrying out standard operational procedures for administering high alert medications with the incidence of medication errors being 0.000 (< 0.05). Conclusion: It was concluded that there was a significant relationship between nurses' knowledge in carrying out standard operational procedures for administering high alert medications and the incidence of medication errors at Raja Ahmad Tabib Hospital, Riau Islands Province. It is recommended for nurses to be disciplined in carrying out standard operational procedures for administering high alert medications so as to minimize the incidence of medication errors and as a form of accountability in nursing professional ethics. Keywords: Knowledge, Standard Operating Procedure, Medication Error

Abstract

Background: Breast cancer is the type of cancer that causes the highest number of deaths in the world. In 2020, global data shows that 2.3 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer. To reduce cancer cases and reduce cancer death rates, the government is implementing an early breast cancer detection program with BSE. The success of this program requires the right form of education. One thing that can be attempted is education using the video method. The aim of the research was to analyze the influence of educational videos on the BSE abilities of Setia Dharma High School students in Palembang. Methods: The research design used is quasi experimental pretest posttest woth control group, statistical tests namely paired t test and independent t test. Population: class X female students at Setia Dharma High School, a sample of 44 people taken with total sampling. The sample was divided into an intervention group (video education) and a control group (demonstration). Research results: the average in the educational video group before the intervention was 56.2 and the average after the intervention was 78.0. In the conventional demonstration group, the average score before intervention was 55.8 and after intervention was 74.8. The results of the paired sample t test obtained a p value <0.05, namely 0.002 in the educational video group and 0.004 in the conventional demonstration group. In the independent t test, the p value was 0.1 > 0.05. Conclusion: This shows that each intervention has an influence on the female students' ability to perform BSE and there is no significant difference between the video group and the demonstration group. It is recommended to continuously improve breast cancer prevention programs by intensively providing education about BSE.Keywords: BSE, breast cancer, adolescent girls
