Abstract

Abstract: Stroke is a condition where blood supply to the brain is disrupted, resulting in lack of oxygen, brain damage and loss of function. Post-stroke is the most difficult period for patients, they will experience disability and the inability to carry out activities as usual and they will have difficulty in self-care. To sustain life rehabilitation is an important component of post-stroke management. The rehabilitation therapy is to improve motor function, cognitive, emotional, psychological and social well-being. In reality there are many barriers for stroke survivors to access rehabilitation care face-to-face such as time restrictions, limited resources, geographical isolation, adherence to rehabilitation, and lack of awareness. One way to overcome access barriers is through technological innovation with tele-rehabilitation. The purpose of writing this literature review is to analyze the implementation of tele-rehabilitation in stroke patients. The data sources used are from databases such as PubMed, Proquest and Google Scholars. There were 21 relevant articles and 5 of them became the material for analysis in this study. The results of the review found that tele-rehabilitation could be a suitable choice as an alternative for post-stroke rehabilitation care for patients. This has potential implications for patients, especially in remote or underserved areas. Keywords:approach, tele-rehabilitation, stroke patients

Abstract

Self-directed learning is one of the important skills for nurses. The readiness to be self-directed in learning enhances nursing professional development and life-long learning. This study aims to determine the level of self-directed learning readiness among nurses at a selected hospital in Malaysia. The conceptual framework for the study is based on the concepts of self-directed learning readiness. This is a cross-sectional quantitative study using descriptive and correlational method for data analysis. A simple random sampling technique was employed to recruit 145 nurses. The Self-Directed Learning Readiness Scale (SDLRS) was adopted to measure the variables of the study. The findings of the study revealed a high level of self-directed learning readiness among nurses (M = 161.71, SD = 12.60). The highest subscale of SDLR was self-control (M=58.22, SD= 4.78) followed by self-management (M=53.99, SD= 4.92) and desire for learning (M=49.51, SD= 4.63). There is a statistically significant difference between age, academic qualification, and self-directed learning readiness (p< 0.05). This study highlights the important concepts of self-directed learning for nurses. The role of educators and administrators is essential to support nurses for self-direction in higher education. Future studies to explore barriers from self-directed learning are recommended.

Abstract

Background: One of the government's efforts to reduce learning loss (low learning motivation) in students due to the Covid-19 pandemic is to conduct limited face-to-face learning (PTMT), with the condition that all school equipment has been vaccinated. Especially when the spread of the Covid-19 virus is increasingly massive and easy to attack children. Children's rights must still be given, but still prioritize the health and safety of children. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of vaccination on student motivation in one of the SD Negeri Bukittinggi. Methods: This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a one group pre-test-post-test only approach. This study was conducted on 53 elementary school students who participated in vaccination using a questionnaire adapted from Natun (2019). Results: The results showed that there was a significant effect of vaccination on the learning motivation of elementary school students (p.value 0.006). Conclusion: It is hoped that teachers and parents can jointly motivate children to take vaccinations. And through this research, it is expected to add concrete data in the morning for health workers and related communities that vaccination does not reduce the learning motivation of school-age students.
