Abstract

Caulerpa lentillifera seaweed is a seaweed that has high economic value and is widely loved by people in the country and abroad. However, the production of Caulerpa lentillifera itself has not been sufficient because it is seasonal. Therefore, it is necessary to make efforts to increase the production of Caulerpa sp. by applying fertilizer in its cultivation. This study aims to determine the dosage (MOL) of water hyacinth that can provide the best growth and production as well as to determine the nutritional quality of Caulerpa sp. This study used a Complete Randomized Design (RAL) with 4 treatments and 3 replicates, with each MOL administered; Treatment A (control), Treatment B (5 mL MOL/L water), Treatment C (6 mL MOL/L water), and Treatment D (7 mL MOL/L water). The data was analyzed by the ANOVA Test and continued by the Duncan Test. that the administration of MOL water hyacinth with a dose of 6 mL MOL/L of water was the best dose for the growth, production, and nutritional quality of Caulerpa lentillifera. Water hyacinth in Caulerpa lentillifera can exert markedly different effects on absolute growth, specific growth rate, production, moisture content, protein, crude fat, crude fiber, BETN, and ash. The best treatment is C treatment (6 ml MOL/L water).

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of different feed doses on the growth and survival of barramundi (Lates calcarifer) pups. To find out the best optimal dose for the growth and survival of juvenile Barramundi (Lates calcarifer). Held for 6 weeks from October to November 2022 at Takalar Brackish Water Aquaculture Fishery Center (BBPBAP), Mappakalompo Village, Galesong District, Takalar Regency. The materials used in the study were barramundi seed size: ±5.74 cm as test animals, 3000 grams of commercial chow as treatment chow, and seawater as rearing medium. The feeding dose is 3% for treatment A, 8% for treatment B and 13%/BB for treatment C, with a frequency of 3 times a day. Spread evenly on the maintenance container. Water quality management is done by measuring water quality, namely dissolved oxygen, temperature and pH. In addition, a suction of uneaten food and fish waste is carried out. This research method used a fully randomized design (CRD) consisting of three treatments and three replicates. Treatment A 3%, Treatment B 5% and Treatment C 13%/BB. Based on absolute weight gain, absolute length gain, daily growth rate and survival rate, treatment B 8% had a significant impact on snapper fry growth. The survival rate is 90.00% to 96.67%, which is relatively high and indicates a high survival rate due to good feed management. The efficiency of feed conversion resulting from feed and different doses of meal showed a significant comparison (<0.05), giving an optimal value of 93.92% compared to treatment A 3% and treatment C 13%/BB

Abstract

Plastic in the aquatic environment poses a new problem, namely microplastics. Microplastics are widespread in marine waters and sediments. Seawater has been widely used by humans, one of which is as raw water for making salt, but the presence of microplastics in marine waters is feared to affect the quality of salt production. The aim of this study was to analyze water quality and identify the quantity and type of microplastic polymers in raw water sources of salt ponds and sediments in Pamekasan. Water quality data for pH, temperature, and DO in Pamekasan salt ponds were in the ranges of 7.5 ± 0.02 - 7.8 ± 0.02; 29.3 ± 0.03 - 31.9 ± 0.09 °C; 6.83 ± 0.26 - 9.42 ± 0.21 mg/L. Microplastics found in salt pond raw water reached 2.06-3.32 particles / L. Microplastics found in sediments were 2,65 ± 0,14 partikel/L and 0,82 ± 0,02 particles/gram. The forms of microplastics found are fibers, fragments, and films. The microplastics in water and sediments influence as much as 44,58% or quite significantly. The types of polymers found in the samples are Polypropylene (PP), Polyethylene (PE), Polyamide (PA), and Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE).

Abstract

Pangkep Regency has great fisheries and fisheries potential, including the potential for crab resources to be used responsibly. The crab fishing season has a significant impact on crab populations and the ecosystem of Segeri's waters. SeIama capture season. The objectives of the research that will be carried out are 1) to analyze the seasonal effects of crab fishing, 2) to assess the impact of the fishing season on crab populations, 3) to explore the effects of the fishing season on the ecosystem. Method of Determination of the fishing season with the criteria is if the seasonal index is more than 1 (more than 100 %) or above the average, and not the season if the seasonal index is less than 1 (less than 100 %). If IM = 1 (100 %), this value is equal to the monthly average price so it can be said to be normal or balanced. The mapping of fishing areas (rajungan) is carried out partifively through the geographic information system (GIS). The peak yield of the crab fishing season occurs in July and November. The average weight of crabs obtained using dragon bubu and gill net is 1.91 kg and 3.43 kg. Intensive fishing activities can cause turbidity due to sediment stirring on the seafloor and affect seagrass and algae that function as feeding grounds and nursery grounds.

Abstract

The use of Pro Analis fertilizer with uneconomical prices in microalgae culture has been a problem that has hampered the utilization of microalgae. The use of agricultural fertilizers as a more economical source of nutrients. This study was conducted to determine the density value of microalgae cultured using agricultural fertilizers to determine which agricultural fertilizers support the cultivation of Chaetoceros calcitrans. This study was conducted using an experimental method, the study was conducted on a laboratory scale with 4 treatments with a research design P1 using variations of Urea Silica fertilizer; P2 NPK and silica; and P3 Urea, NPK and Silica with a ratio of Urea; NPK; Silica fertilizer (0.1; 0.1; 0.015 gr / L). The results of data analysis show that the provision of fertilizer variation treatment has a significant difference (≤0.05) and has a positive correlation with a very strong correlation (r = 0.656) and R2 = 0.431 which shows that the provision of fertilizer variation affects the density value of the Chaetoceros calcitrans microalgae by 43.1% with the provision of NPK and silica fertilizer variation treatment (P2) resulting in the highest density of 291 x104 and the largest cell size with a size of 3.566 µm with these results indicating the ability of agricultural fertilizers as a substitute source of nutrients in microalgae culture.

Abstract

The freshness of the fish caught significantly influences its selling price. The level of freshness of the fish caught is influenced by the handling techniques employed by fishermen on board the vessel until the auction. This study aims to analyze the type of catch, onboard handling, and post-loading and unloading handling on small fishing vessels in Karangsong, Indramayu. The method used is a survey method. Data were obtained from interviews and field observations related to post-catch fish handling on small fishing vessels. The results showed that the type of fish caught by fishermen landed at the Karangsong PPI was mostly dominated by gray tuna. Handling on board the vessel begins with lifting the fish onto the vessel, washing, and storing it with ice in a cool box. The ice to fish ratio for short trips (<12 hours), they use an ice:fish ratio of 1:3 (w/w), while for long trips (>24 hours), the ratio is increased to 1:1.5 (w/w). The ambient temperature inside the cool box, while the ice cubes inside have not completely melted, is between 4 and 10°C. Post-loading and unloading handling includes unloading on land and collection by the TPI, transportation to cold storage, and delivery to collectors and middlemen.

Abstract

Snapper has great economic value and is one of the fishery export products. Apart from being an export product, snapper also has a relatively high market price and is very popular with the public for consumption, utilization increases. This causes snappers to face significant stress. This study aims to analyze the size distribution, length-weight relationship, and condition factors of Red Snapper (Lutjanus gibbus) traded at TPI Rajawali Makassar. Data collection uses the stratified random sampling method. Length and weight data were analyzed using the Sturges formula for size distribution, regression analysis for the long-weight relationship, and condition factor calculation. The results showed that the number of samples was 238 with lengths ranging from 12.2–33.5 cm. The highest size distribution was in the length class of 19.0–21.8 cm as many as 64 heads, while the lowest was at 31.9–34.3 cm as many as 5 heads. The length-weight relationship of fish was allometric negative (b = 2.78), which showed faster increase in length than weight. The condition factor of the fish ranged from 0.62-9.16 with an average of 1.03, which indicated that the physiological condition of the fish was in the good category.
