Abstract

This research is motivated by the low concentration of students in learning. Concentration in learning is the focus of attention in the process of changing behavior that is reflected in the mastery, use, and assessment of attitudes, values, knowledge, and basic skills in various fields of study. The learning process can be said to be successful if the learning objectives are achieved. To improve concentration in learning, teachers need to pay attention to the suitability of learning modalities and student interests. If the modality used is in accordance with the student's learning style, enthusiasm and motivation will emerge so that students are more focused in following the learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning modalities and learning interests on student concentration. The study used a quantitative approach with three variables. The subjects were seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Minas and SMP Negeri 5 Minas with a population of 68 people. Data collection techniques were carried out through questionnaires and documentation. The results of data analysis with simple linear regression showed a significance value of 0.000 <0.05 so that the hypothesis was accepted. This means that there is a significant influence between learning modalities and learning interests on student concentration, especially in the subject of Islamic Religious Education at SMP Negeri 1 Minas and SMP Negeri 5 Minas.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the needs and opportunities for implementing Community Learning Centers (CLCs) to support the development of community education in South Papua. The existence of CLCs in the region remains limited, despite their crucial role as non-formal learning institutions that can reach communities with diverse social, economic, and cultural backgrounds. This research employs a qualitative approach using interviews, observations, and documentation studies as data collection techniques. Informants include community leaders, educators, government officials, and residents who are the target of community education programs. The findings reveal a significant need for CLC implementation, particularly in literacy eradication, vocational skills improvement, digital literacy, and entrepreneurship development. Furthermore, there are substantial opportunities to establish and expand CLCs through local government support, collaboration with higher education institutions, and partnerships with community organizations. The study concludes that CLCs are an effective strategy to expand access to non-formal education, strengthen community empowerment, and contribute to sustainable development in South Papua.

Abstract

Village development thru Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) faces several challenges, ranging from low management capacity and economic literacy to minimal participation from village communities. This research aims to analyze the application of the frugal living principle in the management of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in Bondowoso Regency as a transformation strategy toward a resilient and sustainable village economy. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study design on several active BUMDes selected purposively. Data were obtained thru in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, which were then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana 2014. The research findings indicate that the implementation of frugal living encompasses four main aspects: (1) economical, transparent, and accountable financial management; (2) utilization of local resources to enhance economic value and self-reliance; (3) needs-based business planning that promotes food security and financial literacy; and (4) innovation based on limitations thru the use of appropriate technology and the digitalization of public services. The conclusion of this study confirms that the principle of frugal living can be strategic for BUMDes to optimize limited resources, increase competitiveness, and achieve adaptive and sustainable village development.

Abstract

This article examines the learning patterns of memorizing the Qur'an in the context of Islamic boarding schools and lectures, with a focus on generation Z students who have unique characteristics in receiving learning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that Islamic boarding schools integrate academic learning on campus and discipline learning in Islamic boarding schools by instilling ur'ani spirituality as a representation of learning to memorize the Qur'an. The challenges in both activities are time management and boredom, so that Islamic boarding schools facilitate students to carry out activities outside of Islamic boarding school activities from 07.00 to 18.00 and besides that is the time devoted to activities at Islamic boarding schools. Thus, the integration of the tahfidz learning pattern that is spiritually based on the Qur'an with a systematic lecture pattern can produce a tahfidz learning model that is adaptive and flexible to the needs of Gen Z. This article recommends the need for innovation in Al-Qur'an learning strategies that combine the strengths of Islamic boarding schools and lectures in order to produce graduates who excel in religious and academic aspects.
