KOLOKIUM: Jurnal Pendidikan Luar Sekolah was first published in April 2013 in printed and online form published since 30 April 2018 by Department of Non Formal Education, Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Padang. KOLOKIUM: Jurnal Pendidikan Luar Sekolah equipped with ISSN (p): 2354-693X and ISSN (e): 2655-3163, published twice a year in April and October. KOLOKIUM: Jurnal Pendidikan Luar Sekolah education contains articles from research and/ or analytical-critical in the field non-formal education specifically edult education study, community education, training and development of human resources, counseling, and community development. The spesification purpose are intended to explore, develop and explain the knowladge of history, philosophy, principles, policies, designs, and technologies that are used and developed in non-formal education services. KOLOKIUM: Jurnal Pendidikan Luar Sekolah have a role and participates in efforts to support the preservation of scientific traditions derived from the theoretical study of researchers and the practical experience of education practitioners.

Abstract

One of the success of the Early Childhood Education Institution in society is based on the teacher’s factor. The problem facing by the Early Childhood Education Institution in the sub-district of Koto Tangah is the lack of the creativity of the teachers to use modern media that will motivate children to play while learning. Until now, Early Childhood Education teachers still use traditional media in the teaching and learning process, when it looks outdated and less able to motivate children in learning. This training aims to help the teachers to be creative Early Childhood Education’s teachers in making an animation learning media Web-based. Through the training of animation learning media Web-based, the teachers can improve their ability in applying various media. Skill training method  in making an animation media-based uses; (1) speech method is used to deliver the material theoretically about the concept of Early Childhood Education and the learning characteristics, (2) discussion method is used by the  Early Childhood Education’s teachers to discuss about how to make an animation media web-based, (3) experiment/ practice method  is used to train the Early Childhood Education’s teachers in having an ability in making an animation media, each teacher tries to create an animation media web-based directly. The subject of this research is the 21 teachers, taken from each delegation of the Early Childhood Education Institution in Koto Tangah, Padang. The result of this research for the community can be described: (1) Early Childhood Education’s teachers comprehend characteristics and learning strategies for early childhood, (2) some of them have already skilled, creative in creating web-based animation learning media. It is suggested to the school to always motivate and facilitate the Early Childhood Education’s teachers in creating a good learning media following the advancement of science and technology. The Early Childhood Education’s teachers are expected to have continuous training to improve their creativity in creating a good and varies learning media.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the observations of researchers when teaching, it was found that there are still many students who experience obstacles when solving row problems. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive research type. The approach and type of study were chosen according to the researcher's goal which is to describe the students' algebraic thought processes in solving the problem of ranks. The findings in this study, namely high ability students can go through each stage of problem-solving as well as doing the algebraic thinking process well, while moderate and low ability students still often ignore the stage of looking back. They also still have difficulty doing the algebraic thought process. The algebraic thinking process of high-ability students is more complex than students of medium and low ability. Highly capable students experience the process of gathering ideas, clarifying ideas, evaluating ideas, and making decisions over and over again in the thought process he does in solving problems. Besides that, in the process of thinking, high-ability students also observe patterns, make generalizations, use meaningful symbols, use functions, and make mathematical models.

Abstract

The danger of earthquakes spread almost all areas of the Indonesian islands, one of them in the city of Padang, West Sumatra either on a small scale to large scale damage. The earthquake was felt not only by adults, but young children are also feeling the impact of the earthquake. So far, efforts to increase the ability of earthquake disaster preparedness much focused on adults, while for young children is still very minimal, it is necessary to provide knowledge of earthquake preparedness in children from an early age. This research is the development by using the 4D model that aims to produce learning programs earthquake disaster mitigation valid, practical, and effective. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative analysis. The conclusion of the development is a learning program earthquake disaster mitigation was very valid and practical use in learning. From the results of studying the implementation of learning programs earthquake disaster mitigation, it was concluded that the child's knowledge and skills regarding earthquake preparedness increases. Thus, learning programs earthquake disaster mitigation is very effective for use in improving the preparedness of children to the earthquake.Keywords: Learning Program, Disaster Mitigation, Earthquake, Early Childhood

Abstract

Status of Specific Disasters Emergency Volume 1 and 2, Social distancing, physical distancing to Large Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) is a series of policies adopted by the Government of Indonesia from the end of January to the end of March 2020 in response to the escalation the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the series of policies have not been able to reduce the number of positive victims of Covid-19. Since the first positive case of two people on March 2, 2020, the number of positive cases of Covid-19 has been increasing day by day. Data as of 30 April 2020 shows the number of 10,118 positive cases. The failure of the Indonesian Government's policy to suppress Covid-19's positive numbers, one of which is that there are still many Indonesians who do not heed the policies implemented by the government and the ineffective digital-based integrated information system that has been made by the government. One of these two factors, rooted in the ability of information literacy that is owned by the community, because the ability of information literacy will determine what people do in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. This paper tries to discuss how to build the ability of family-based information literacy so that the community has capital accumulated knowledge about the Covid-19 pandemic so that it can avoid the anxiety, fear, panic and pandemic Covid-19. Selected family-based because the PSBB policy implemented by the Indonesian Government emphasizes activities at home.Keywords: Covid-19, Family, Information Literacy

Abstract

Community Library is an institution that provides various types of learning materials needed by the community. TBM As a place for organizing the ability to read and learn, as well as a place to get information for the community. One of the TBMs carrying out these activities is Rumah Asa TBM. In addition to disseminating information, TBM Rumah Harapan also plays a role in community empowerment. This paper describes community empowerment carried out by Taman Bacaan Masyarakat. To obtain these data this paper uses a literature study in the form of conceptual studies. Abstract

This article discusses the implementation of the storytelling method as humanistic learning in Finland Kindergartens. Language is one aspect of development that is stimulated at an early age. Humanistic learning is learning that optimizes the potential of children as humans. One of the practices of humanistic learning is using storytelling in teaching children. Through storytelling activities, children fulfill their basic needs in self-actualization. In the learning activities seen children in Finland are actively involved in storytelling and the teacher facilitates learning in accordance with the interests and children’s needs.Keywords: Storytelling, Humanistic Approach, Stimulation in Language Development

Abstract

The phenomenon of problems relating to students with special needs or students who need teaching in their studies more deeply. The student will later follow the regular learning system, especially in elementary schools, which demand to hold inclusive learning that unites the teaching and learning process between regular students (normal students) and students with special needs. Therefore the competence of teachers in schools will be demanded to be more profound in teaching students with special needs. The methodology used in this study uses the method of library (library research), while collecting data by examining and exploring a number of journals, books, and several articles where data sources or other information are relevant (related) to the appropriate study. The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of teachers in inclusive education to students with special needs. The results showed that the teacher had done adaptive learning for children who had difficulty learning by adjusting the conditions of the students themselves, the adjustment was related to the method of strategy, material, learning tools/media, and learning environment.Keywords: Education, Inclusive, Teacher, Role

Abstract

The Democratic Republic of East Timor as a newly independent country is faced with various problems in the field of education, including the family literacy program. The family as the smallest unit in social life needs to get the main attention in an effort to increase their dignity and with various programs that are directly able to empower it. One of the institutions that carried out the process was that which was carried out by CLC. This study aims to analyze the family literacy development strategy implemented by CLC Fatumasi. The research method used is qualitative, with participatory, ethnographic and collaborative research approaches. Data collection is done through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The strategy taken is to implement eight steps, namely: identification of family literacy learning needs, the survey of resource potentials, priority scale analysis of learning needs, preparation of family literacy program design, preparation of family literacy curriculum, developing family literacy learning materials, application of family literacy learning, and follow up on family literacy development.Keywords: Family Literacy, Community Learning Center (CLC)

Abstract

This research is research and development (R&D). The purpose of this research is to develop online material for the Analysis and Data Utilization Subject Course in the NFPPB Training Center. The study was conducted at the NFPPB with the aim of participants of the Family Planning Village Operationalization Technical Training. The research method refers to the Allan Jolliffe development model. The results of the development of online material for Analysis and Data Utilization can be accessed at URL http://www.annangguru.com/elearning. Online material developed using Moodle application software with moove model. The product development procedure is carried out according to the reference model of the Allan Jolliffe development. The step-by-step review process is carried out by material experts, media experts, and instructional design experts. To the target of the study conducted the one-on-one test, small group test, and field test. Evaluation is carried out until the summative evaluation stage by calculating the N-Gain Score. The results of the summative evaluation stated that the online material for the analysis and data utilization was effective in improving the learning outcomes of trainees in the NFPPB Training Center.Keywords: Web-Based Course, Development Studies, Online Materials

Abstract

The turbulence of Coronaviruses sometime this past raises fear and anxiety for everyone. Moreover, the spread of this virus has penetrated all over the country so it is expressed as a pandemic condition. One of the solutions highly recommended by the WHO and supported by health experts and government policy is to keep social distance physically. These conditions include the impact on the application of the program at home only. In the educational world, social distancing policies also impact child education, which leads to the role of education in returning to the family. For the stimulation of children's education is not stopped, parents need to use creative models to stimulate children's abilities. One model that can be used in stimulating the ability of children, especially the ability to read early children is to use a family-based environmental Print model.
